Feb 14, 2010I havent received ANY texts for the past two days. I've uninstalled the latest apps I've installed (Task Killer & Texas Hold Em). I didnt have many installed to begin with and still had 86mb free before uninstalling them. i've restarted and pulled the battery over and over. still nothing. my phone is rooted with Fresh 1.1 and I have the Gumbo kernel. NOW... i'm thinking about trying a hard reset to try and fix this SMS issue. can i backup my phone to where i dont have to do the manual rooting all over again? that kitchen didnt work for me and i really dont feel like running thru all that code again. what all does a backup actually back up?

Nov 3, 2010I am a huge Android Forums newbie, but I really needed help with backing up my phone information before hard resetting. Basically, the primary email that the phone is running under is an email for a company I no longer work for so I don't have a valid email there. Because I can't log into my work email, I can't log in and download any new application so unless you guys know of a different solution, I guess my only option is to hard reset and then make a new primary account. However, I would like to save all my contacts and texts messages [if possible, although I hear it's unlikely], but since I can't download any new applications, I also can't download any storage applications for my phone.

Jul 4, 2010I've been having for the past couple of days issues with my phone resetting itself. I have a rooted Dinc with the Hydra OV 1.15ghz kernel install. I was wondering if anybody else was having the same or a similar issue? Maybe it's with the kernel or maybe it's with a program I have installed but I'd like to try and narrow it down before I do anything.

If i perform a factory reset of the phone as per the manual would instruct, will that change the clockwork recovery i have, or just reset the os. Basically, can i reset the phone but keep the clockwork recovery? If i want stock recovery i have to reset using ruu and reflash the whole thing right?

Sep 29, 2010I Love my HTC Droid Incredible. I have no problems using the camera or moving images where I want them (Facebook, Flickr, or my PC). As I take photos, they are saved as a file name like "IMAG0029.jpg". They sequentially increment. I am fine with that.
What I would like, is, a way to re-set the embedded number to zero; either when the camera is empty (after a download), or manually.
Android :: Weird VLINGO Bug - Resetting Phone (Incredible + Bluetooth)
Nov 3, 2010I was wondering if this was happening to anyone else consistently.
Turn on Vlingo In-Car.
Turn on Bluetooth headset and pair it w/ your phone.
Make a phone call and then hang up.
TURN OFF YOUR BLUETOOTH HEADSET.
WHen I do that, my phone RESETS. I think it's only w/ Vlingo in car on, regular bluetooth doesn't do that. (ALTHOUGH, my phone resets if I use gps, charge, use bluetooth, and talk at the same time....) Let me know if it's only an Incredible thing, or HTC thing, or all android thing...

Jun 21, 2010I found the place to call to get the user manual, if you want a paper version. It is the same size as the tips and hints book that comes with our phones, but about 5/8 of an inch thick. I got off the charger at 10 am this morning and been actively using. Down to 90 percent now at 5pm. Weird, I guess I had a draining program installed.

I myself had to do this, as I couldn't always answer the phone (swipes were simply ignored about 70% of the time) and the weather widget was out, too. Had to hard reset and, from what I hear, so have many others. Why is this? I called HTC, who called what Verizon did "buggy".

Sep 8, 2010after my update i noticed programs opening in the background all the time. between this, the choppy everything, and pandora never closing, i decided to do the hard reset. after that, i just had to reinstall apps. now its smooth and faster than ever. so, the issue ATK still shows apps open that were not open before. i kill them and check in 20 and sometimes things like Skype and pandora are open but i never started the app. i am thinking that the ATK isnt working. to even push this idea more, now when i surf the net, i close it with the ATK. it says its closed but when i open the internet again, its on the same page i left it on. why not my home page as before. i did set my home page.

Sep 17, 2010So I woke up to my phone play a ringtone over and over. I couldnt stop the ringtone and it wasnt from an alarm. It was sitting at home screen just playing this ringtone over and over. So I turned the phone off and went back to sleep. When I turned the phone back on after I awoke it hard reset itself and made me start anew. No apps i downloaded, no ringtones or wallpapers except those on my SD card. Luckily I used backup assistant to get my contacts back but wtf?
Has this happened to anyone else? The only app Ive downloaded recently is ourgroceries which I linked with my wife. the phone doesn't change settings, only needed Internet access and something else trivial. I am very very careful with apps I download.
Again, anyone had this issue? Any reason why this happened?

I get the same result if I try to enter recovery mode. I can get into HBOOT ok by pressing the vol down and power button, but if I select any option it locks on the "htc Incredible" boot screen. In windows(7-64bit-ultimate) I have 2 disk drive entries in device manager for android phone, but only one shows volume information (for SD Card), the other shows "no media". (I also tried this on a different windows computer with the same result)
In linux mint (& ubuntu), 2 android phone drives show under "computer" but only one mounts (SD Card).
Obviously the SD Card pops up fine, but I can't get the phone storage to mount as a drive. I can see all the phone storage under /emmc in my file manager on the phone, and it shows up in the settings menu. I do notice that when I mount as a disk drive only the SD Card gets greyed out, not the phone storage...
I've tried using USB debugging, mounting through unrevoked, etc... no luck...
I haven't been able to get rom manager to fix permissions for B5, is that a possible thing to look into???
Anyone have a similar installation that works fine?
Mods feel free to move this under ROMS or anywhere else you want...
Android :: Droid Randomly Resetting
Dec 7, 2009Got my first Droid last Wed. and put a few apps on it and the phone would reset itself. It did this while on a call, texting, using the browser and even when not in use and it was just sitting next to me. I took it back to Verizon and they gave me a second Droid. The new one does the same thing. I deleted all my apps and did a hard reset and it still does it. Took it back to Verizon, but couldn't get it to reset while I was there. Of course after I got home it did it several more times. I even woke up during the night and saw the phone coming back on from a random reset. Anyone else have the same problem? Anyone know what might be causeing this or how to fix it?

I backed up my phone through titanium backup then downloaded cyanogenmod and installed it through rom manager. i cleared my cashe and backed up in rom manager. my phone now just boots up to the droid screen then resets. its like a endless cycle lol. is there any way to get my phone back in working order or is it bricked?

Oct 22, 2011I've tried calling Verizon about my Droid 2 resetting almost nonstop. I can't make it through a phone call or browse the web or anything without it resetting. I had had my first one for less than a year when it started acting up. Verizon tried sending me a replacement but it did the same thing. Now I'm on my third Droid 2 in less than a year and it's resetting on its own also. I haven't downloaded any apps on this newest replacement so I don't know what's causing it. Could it be my battery or SD card? I'm just at a loss and I really don't want to get a new phone already.

Mar 27, 2010I'm having an issue with screen timeout setting.. It keeps resetting it self. I'll set it at 2 mins, and go back in and nothing is selected.
And the screen will go off whenever it wants. I could be in the middle of typing a text message, and i have to activate the screen mid-word. It's getting old.
