Sorry for starting a new thread for this but I'm not sure where to look. Does anyone know of an app where I can play my music through my FM radio without having to buy a cable? Would be a handy app definitely worth paying for.Anyone?

Depends on the size and gauge of the wire of your headphones. Also depends on the position of the wires. FM radio is a little picky, but works fine- depending on the points mentioned. Old & wrong: The FM radio on the Inc must be the weakest radio in a phone, evah! Just tried it today and picks up half the channels my Ngage and N900 pick up well. A lot of channels barely come in, or are static filled. I thought Steely Dan said "FM has no static at all"? Makes the CDMA radio seem not that bad, in comparison I know- at LEAST it has a radio. Must be set to suppa powwa savva mode

I'm looking to pick up a car charger / FM transmitter setup for using my Droid in the car and playing music through the car speakers. I found two seemingly similar products on Amazon:
Amazon.com: Accessory Power FlexSmart Car Mount System for SmartPhones - Cutting Edge FM Transmitter and Charger with DC Surge Protection and Stabilized Flex-Neck: Electronics
and
Amazon.com: Accessory Power FlexSmart Car Mount System for MOTOROLA DROID SmartPhones - Cutting Edge FM Transmitter and Charger with DC Surge Protection and Stabilized Flex-Neck: Electronics
They look the same to me (just one is $10 cheaper!) so I thought I'd ask if anyone had any experience with this device. How does it charge the phone? Is there a micro USB connector inside the dock, or do you have to use your own cord? Any other perspectives you can offer on these devices, or any other devices that would charge and do FM transmitting at the same time will be greatly appreciated.

I was looking for some information on the TI processor in the Droid when I came across the information for the WiFi/Bluetooth chip in the Droid, the TI WL1271. Check out it's info here:
Mobile Wireless LAN - WiLink⢠6.0 Solutions
It says "provide FM transmit and receive functions to turn the handset into a personal area broadcast device"
So, why don't we have transmit/receive functions on our phone?
Another feature the WL1271 has is support for 802.11n. Why don't we have that, too?

A cell phone is a transmitter just like a radio tower, and higher power is required to send the signal farther. Every modern cell phone automatically adjusts its transmitter power based on reception. Fewer bars means faster battery drain when you are using your phone. Switching to 2G will not necessarily save battery. If you have a 3G tower nearby, then your battery will last longer. And if you have a spotty 4G connection, you'd best plug in, or don't use it. However, given equal signal strength, a 4G signal is MORE efficient per byte than 3G.

A long time ago I upgraded to the 2.15 radio. Everything worked great except for one thing. Occasionally (once every 2-3 days) my 3g goes off and I can't turn it back on. I'll toggle airplane mode to no avail. Is there a way I can re flash the 2.15 radio? I wouldn't even mind returning to stock before re-rooting if thats what it takes.

The FM radio on the incredible is horrible. Am I the only one who notices this? I tried two different headsets and the reception is still horrible. I mean, not just kinda bad, but basically the reception is so bad that the fm radio is useless. Anyone else have this problem? How do you fix?

There is a radio station I like, it is on itunes, but also available for stream at their own website. The stream looks for compatibility with Windows media player, or itunes, Winamp, or their own platform which loads on my phone but does not work correctly with no volume.
How I can listen to this station, and what I need to download?
The website is twelvez.com if that helps. There is a link to listing by choosing your format. On the desktop works fine, just wish i could get it on the phone.

I rooted my Incredible, and now I have it running the Froyo leak. Unfortunately, I didn't install radio 2.x before doing this, so my camcorder doesn't function properly. Is there a way to downgrade from Froyo to 2.1, install radio 2.x, then reinstall Froyo?

just ordered the Incredible and have been checking out the forum. I already feel right at home here. I do have a question regarding the FM radio capabilities of the phone. Here in Utah, the local NPR station has gone through the whole HD radio upgrade and apparently with an HD radio I could listen to three different channels while tuned into 90.1. Can I do that with the Incredible? Are there any apps that would make that possible? I tried searching the forums but didn't find anything.

I've read all the threads I could find in here about turning off the cell radio but none have addressed this particular configuration. The reason I want to do this is because I don't use my Incredible for talking, I just use it as a computer. For talking I use a cheap little "dumb phone" so to conserve battery while i'm out n about all day, i would love to be able to have the cell radio off while 3g is on. If anyone knows of any way/app to achieve this.

I want to update my radio to 2.15 from 1.0. i put the pb31img zip on the root of my sd card, and did everything it said to do here: New Radio 2.15.00.07.28 for HTC Incredible from Adrynalyne but it doesn't actually ask me to update. it checks the file but then goes to the standard hboot menu. I'm running frankenrom 5 if it matters and I'm new to rooting and stuff so I'm probably making a simple mistake.

I just recently purchased ROM Manager, and decided to try out downloading a ROM through it. I decided to go with JagerROM, which I've seen before requires the 2.2, but in ROM Manager it didn't say so. So I downloaded the ROM, and it works perfectly, my only question is, how can I tell if it already updated my radio or not?
Under my software information, it says Android version 2.2, but the Baseband version is 1.00.03.04.06. So is my radio already updated?

If I update my radio, will the camcorder work with CM6? or would I have to use skyraider's froyo rom to get a full functioning froyo ROM? nothing against skyraider, they are great ROMs it's just that I don't like sense so I'm sticking with cyanogen. if updating the radio won't help cyanogenmods ROM, does anybody know if they've made any progress with getting the camcorder to work?
