HTC Hero : Trouble Entering Recovery Image Mode
Sep 11, 2009I am trying to enter the recovery image by powering on while pressing 'home'. I just get a phone lying down image and a warning triangle, any ideas?

Samsung Captivate :: Phone Entering Recovery Mode
Oct 16, 2010After I applied the Voodoo Lag Fix on Cognation V2.7 captivate, it kept entering recovery mode. Each time I choose reboot system now in the recovery mode, it will enter the recovery mode again. Anyone can tell me what happened to my captivate? Is there any way to fix it?

Motorola Droid :: Unable To Find Backup - Restore Option After Entering Recovery Mode
Nov 14, 2010Ok i have not been able to find any answers what so ever regarding the people that can not find the backup/restore option after entering the recovery mode. I have recently rooted using the new z4root application. I get a skull and crossbones supper user app, and was wondering if that means its different than the one with the ninja icon that everyone else gets.
Anyways, When i go to make a nandroid back up, i follow the steps to the letter, but when i get to the recovery menu, my options stop after the wipe baseband data option. there is absolutely nothing else there that says anything about backup/restore option everyone seems to be screaming about. Its not there!
Now please can someone figure out a solution to this problem?
My recovery looks like as follows: Android system recovery <3e>
Use d-pad to highlight: center to select.
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe baseband data
General :: Using Fastboot Mode To Flash Recovery Image - Device Not Detected
Apr 24, 2012I deleted /system folder on my nexian cosmic journey. And now my nexian is stuck...
I try to using fastboot mode to flash recovery image, but my device seems not detected. I already installed the android composite driver, but when i use "fastboot devices" command, it shows (?) So how the heck to get my nexian back to normal?..
Or perhaps, if i just be able to put back the /system folder to its place again, it would be more easy to recover it... But how access the root when phone is like that?

I get as far as stage 6, but can't get into recovery mode. It comes up with an exclamation mark in a triangle with a picture of the phone.
As far as I'm aware everything before that stage works fine.

Oct 28, 2010I have the Hero, I am using Cyanogenmod rom (6.0).I wanted to flash the newest update (6.1), but when I try to boot into recovery mode it freezes on the black screen that just has HTC on it.my phone loads just fine, it's just with the recovery mode that it gets stuck. What can I do?

HTC Hero :: Updating Radio And Recovery Mode?
Apr 22, 2010I'm currently trying to flash my phone to the Android 2.1 ROM in this thread, but am stuck on updating the radio (one of the prerequisites of the howto is having the latest radio firmware).I've followed this guide to root the phone (successfully!), however the last step is updating the radio. I've downloaded the latest radio img file and renamed it to update.zip, but when I reboot (holding down the back key) I don't get an option to install this file (I get the three little skater dudes, and press vol-down for HBOOT mode etc). How do I force this to come up?As a side issue, I also don't appear to have a recovery mode any more? If I reboot recovery, my phone hangs on the Hero logo and goes no further (I've waited approx 15 mins for it to boot). How can I recreate my recovery profile?

May 11, 2010I rooted my Hero using the manual rooting guide in this forum. everything seemed to go fine. Since then, I have tried ROM Manager, entering recovery mode using adb, holding down the volume button and pressing the end button, and holding down the home button and pressing the end button. They all have the same reaction, the phone will come up with the htc logo and then the screen goes blank and then the only thing I can do after that is remove the battery. Sometimes the only thing that is different is the htc logo will stay on the screen and freeze at that point, once again requiring me to remove the battery to do anything. I have tried this using three different recovery images 1.2.3, 1.5.2, and 1.6.2...all of them have the same outcome when I try to enter recovery.

May 7, 2010I am stuck at step 8 in the manual rooting steps. When I type in the recovery boot, I don't enter into recovery mode. Instead, all I see is nothing but the white HTC, standing there unless I take the battery out and boot it back to regular OS. Do I have to hold home button and power button, immediately after I enter -recovery boot? and what button is the power button to make sure?
I know I did the first few steps of the inputing codes correctly, but how do I know I flashed my recovery image 1.6.2 correctly? When I typed into cmd: flash_image recovery recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img
I immediately got that # sign below it. Do i have to wait for a minute or so before doing recovery boot? I know I pushed my recovery to my SD correctly, it says the kilobytes on the cmd screen and can find it on SD memory.
And one more thing" I typed in both these codes as written: adb push recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img /sdcard and flash_image recovery recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img throughout the rooting process. Does it matter if I put a "c" after "hero" in both of those codes, because when I do, I get no file and directory error. And the reason I took out the "c" was because my file was named, recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2, originally when I downloaded it, so that is probably why I got the error of no file directory when I added a "c" after hero in those coding inputs.
Sprint HTC Hero : Cannot Boot Into Recovery Mode
Jun 17, 2010I have never rooted my phone before. I am running 2.27.651.6. I am trying to follow the instructions here to install Fresh Rom 2.1.2.
When I turn my phone off and try to boot into recovery mode by holding down the Home and Power buttons, I get a picture of a phone with a little red exclamation point beside it that will not go away. I eventually had to take the battery out of the back of it to get it to go away. Put the battery back in and it works fine but I would really like to install that Rom.
Sprint HTC Hero : Can't Boot Into Recovery Mode
Dec 29, 2009I have a Sprint Hero that I have rooted and in trying to do a Nandroid backup have found myself unable to get to recovery mode. I hold Home, hit power and the system hangs on the initial HTC screen until I remove the battery. After that the phone will boot into the regular OS just fine.
Now I am kinda stuck here, without recovery mode I can't even restore my phone back to stock can I? It's not urgent since my phone works normally otherwise.
General :: When Battery Dies Phone Goes Into Downloading Packages / Entering Store Mode
Aug 10, 2013Every time I let my SIIX batt die the phone states "downloading packages" and "entering store mode". A picture of an android shows up, the only way for me to get my phone to work again is by doing the following:
-Plug the phone in and let it charge a bit
-Unplug the phone from the charger and take the batt out
-Put the batt back in making sure it stays unplugged from charger otherwise it goes back into store mode
Only then will my phone go back to normal and charge....

Jun 15, 2010I rooted my phone a while back and I am trying to update the recovery image. I think the recovery image I have downloaded (recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2) has some extra options such as being able to flash the radio which is what I want to do. I have updated my rom to 2.1 by copying the image accross and naming it update.zip and booting into recovery and applying the update. That is fine and I am now running SenseHERO-2.1_signed-update. I have tried using flashrec but it fails with "cannot run command" and I think it is because I already have a patched recovery image. What is the best thing to do? Can I update my recovery image manually from the command line? Can I update the radio in the same way? Have I misunderstood the procedure?

Oct 11, 2010To use more features in the ROM Manager app I decided to flash the Clockwork recovery image from Rom Manager.I got the message the image had flashed so I tried to restart my phone to make sure it flashed and to make a nandroid with the new image.Phone would not boot into recovery for me.So I pulled the battery (phone was stuck on "HTC" screen), waited 10 seconds, replaced battery and tried starting the phone in regular mode instead of recovery.That worked.So I tried restarting in recovery mode again.Failed again. Figured the problem was in the Clockworkmod recovery image. So I pulled/waited/replaced the battery again and restarted the phone in regular mode.Used the USB to get to my SD card and went into the file for the Clockwork recovery image and deleted it.Then I pasted the 1.6.2 RA back onto my SD card and planned to flash it.
But I have not been able to flash the image because all my phone does now id get to the "HTC" screen and stays there.Nothing else to show it is booting up.Finally pulled my SD card and put it in my card reader on my computer.Pasted the Clockworkmod recovery image back into the correct folder, thinking I might be able to at least get the phone to boot up in regular mode. No luck.Just goes to the "HTC" screen I see every start-up and stays there.So the 1.6.2 RA is on the root of my SD but not flashed.The Clockworkmod image is back in it's folder but not re-flashed.

My options are to Download Recovery Image (Grayed out) or Restore Backup Image which once clicked gives information 'Backup Complete'. How do I proceed?

I've tried RUUing my phone but that won't work now. It dies on the HTC screen and when I pull the USB I get to a menu that has the option of RUU but it wont' do anything.

I can't load the flash_image to my system/bin file. My phone IS rooted and I've done it via various ways and none of them will give me permission to move the flash_image to the /system/bin folder
I can't flash a recovery image to flash_image because... flash image doesn't exist.
I'm at th end of my rope and I'm about to slip it around my neck. I know I need to step away from this and take a deep breath, but I'm determined.
Anyone able to give me some hints to as what I'm missing

Sprint HTC Hero : Whats Most Recent - Best Recovery Image?
Sep 16, 2010ran into a little problem yesterday when i was going back and forth between roms. i usually wipe before restoring nandroid but this time i ran into the error nandroid adb thing. i was able to get into rom manager and flash clockwork recovery and then flash back RA_v1.6.2 to restore my nandroid but i was wondering whats the BEST and NEWEST recovery image out right now? i dont want to run into this problem again. i thought i broke my phone! lucky i searched on here and someone said to reinstall the recovery image which is what i did and it worked!

Nov 10, 2009I have already rooted my hero but I did not flash a recovery image or perform a nandroid back up mostly because I could not find clear instructions on how to do so, which caused me to have to completely wipe my phone and start over after I deleted some programs that caused my loop over and over. I know the commands I need to run in adb to flash the recovery image but I do not know where to download the recovery image or where I need to store it I also can't find anything on nandroid back could somone please explain these in detail with the steps I need to take so I don't need to start from square one again.
