View 2 RepliesIf you go to the application section in the settings, click on touchflo and click clear defaults. Then press home. Select, "Home" over "Touchflo", do you get the nexus one style homescreen?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIve had my shiny new hero for a couple of days now and updated the firmware via the HTC site as soon as I took it out of the box.
Im finding that quite frequently im getting a popup window telling me...
"The application TouchFLO (Process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.)
I then have to force close and wait a while for the touchFlo to restart... sometimes only to recieve the same message again only moments later!
Ive disconnected from facebook and stopped updating my contacts via google but to no avail! a factory reset fixed the problem only for a few hours! Ive not got alot of apps installed (I left most out after the factory reset) so i doubt its an app causing the problem.
I have also noticed (i dont think this is likely to be related?) that I dont have the Java app installed after the firmware update (its not in my app collection)
I would be sooo greatful if anybody has a solution... when its working this phone is just awsome!! but this is happening far to often, ive been looking forward to getting my hands on a Hero for months now but this has kinda taken the shine off im afraid
Not sure what does what but occasionally my phone is crashing leaving nothing but my middle screen with the background on. All my icons disappear.I'm on a modaco 2.73. Incidentally now the official Orange Rom id out should I switch to this ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my phone yesterday and already the desktop has crashed two times with the following error:
Sorry! The application TouchFLO (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close
If I force close it tries to go back to the desktop but yet again it crashes. If I reboot the phone everything will work yet again. Is there a way to see some log or something to see what's happening?
I got fed up with slow responses, graphical fripperies that get in the way and occasional incompatibilities and have now dumped the HTC user interfaces as I wasn't using their widgets anyway, that's all you really lose. Even HTC's home app has an annoying "overshoot" for effect when scrolling from one screen to the next, which just gets in the way. Looks nice at first but gets annoying after a week or so. Am now using stock Android and the phone's a lot quicker.

Until yesterday everthing was ok with the phone, but since yesterday i get this message: "The application TouchFLO (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" when i want to use the weather widget. When this message appears i get only Force Close as an option.

I have had a look around this site but can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem as me.I downloaded an application that changed the unlock screen to the same as the iPhone. For some reason this changed my home-screen was well as my unlock screen. My HTC Hero had the same home screen as this:

But now it has changed back to the G1 (T-Mobile G1) and looks like this:

The long bar across the bottom with call etc has disappeared and changed to one square box. I have uninstalled the application but there is nothing to change it back. Can anyone help?
Okay I hope this is a simple question to ask - just got my HTC hero phone today and earlier I accidentally deleted my Favorites Log so its not displayed on home screen. I can still add/remove contacts to and from my favorites but I don't know how to get favorites log back on home screen. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI forgot what i clicked on but it asked me "complete action using" then it gave me three choices to choose from which were
Default home
HTC sence
Forgot the third
This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?
I was wondering if anyone has a cure for this. The phone is rooted and on Villain 5.x. I've recently started using the camera and noticed that it will abruptly close on me - no force close message or anything - just back to the Home screen. A reboot seems to fix it for a few snaps, then the same again.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have just got my hero back from RMA with a new screen. (the old one was fubar). But now the back button is bringing me the homescreen. And not the last screen. So if I browse my settings, and go 4 screens in. I want the back button to bring me to screen 3 (like it used to), and not to the home screen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSay you're surfing the web and are on a website like this forum. You then feel like checking a text message or making a call so you go ahead and do that.
How do you get back to the browser that is still running in the background and to the same website you were working on? I hope there's an easy answer and I'm just stupid.
Turned my phone on and the Weather Widget on the main screen is gone and when I try and add the HTC weather widget it says not enough space on the screen. Any ideas?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWell have had my hero for around 3 days now. I have recently noticed a creaking sound coming from the home and back buttons. It rarely makes a sound from the menu or search button. But the home and back make this sound if I push the button or if I lightly press down (halfway pushing the buttons).
Is this normal? Do you get this on your hero?
I have an HTC Hero, rooted, latest Cyanogen with LauncherPro Plus. But I don't know if it's a rooted issue so I posted here. Sometimes scrolling slows to a crawl, sometimes it takes a minute to go back to the home screen, LauncherPro crashes a lot, the lock screen takes a few seconds to unlock. Other times all of that zips through. It's maddening About 24 megs of free storage on phone. What could it be? And the phone reboots a lot on its own also.
View 29 Replies View RelatedLet me start off by saying I did/still do have a nandroid and also a custom ROM zip on my SD. I used the ROM manager application to wipe data/cache, like I have done about 10 times this past week, and flashed a new ROM. So my phone reboots to recovery, "clockwork mod recovery", you have to use this recovery to use ROM manager, and instead of flashing the ROM, it gives me some error message. Now for anyone who isn't familiar with clockwork recovery, you can't flash a nandroid from it, you have to revert back to the stock recovery to flash a nandroid, or at least I do.
So now all I can do is reboot my hero which brings me back to stock 2.1 with no root access. Now I know what your thinking, "just flash your nandroid", but now I can't. To flash my nandroid I would have to reflash the stock recovery image through ROM manager, and now I'm stuck with the clockwork recovery image because ROM manager requires root to swap recoveries, and no ability to nandroid back to where I was before. Basically, unless there is a way to change my recovery back to stock without being rooted currently.
For some reason, over night, my lock wallpaper has changed from the picture I had to the music control selector.
I have tried to change this back but it will not allow me to. Has anyone got any ideas?
Whenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
Ive had open home downloaded for over a month and i only used it for a short period of time before switching back to the default homepage setting. Now, because of the new features added to Open Home i want to switch back, and every time i open 'Open Home' it only opens until i hit the home key. Then it does not ask me what i want to use as my default as it used to. I went to settings>applications>manage applications>open home to clear all defaults but it is not highlighted for me to select it. How can i set Open Home to my default again?

When I DL'd the GDE app, I accidentally set my stock droid "HOME" screen as the default screen when the popup box came up asking me to choose between stock Home and GDE. Now when I click on GDE and click the home button, it switches back to the stock Home screen. How to I switch the settings now to set the GDE app as the new home screen?

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes simply pressing the back or home button actually close the the running app? If I press the back button in mail for instance the phone returns to the home screen but if I then press the Mail button again the mail will open rite where I left off at not on the Mail home screen. this happens with all the apps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs an avid user of ADW and Launcherpro, I encountered some problems after the update to 2.2. For instance, If I switch to LauncherPro, and set it as default via "Home Switcher", the next time I hit the home button it still takes me back to Sense. The solution I found is this:
1. You cannot use Home Swithcer.
2. After uninstalling Home Switcher, go to Settings> Applications> Manage Applications.
3. Click the tab to show all, navigate to "HTC Sense", clear it's defaults.
4. Now, the next time you hit Home, it will ask what to do. Select the launcher of your choice and make it default.
From here out, you can use Home Switcher to launch a different launcher, but know that the "Set Default" action will not work for 2.2. You will have to clear default for whatever launcher in order for home to function properly for whatever launcher you choose.
This has been brought up before, but I was unable to find a satisfying answer. And I know it's a newbish question.
What is the difference between exiting an app with the back button compared to the home button? I am not talking about switching to the home screen, I am talking about a scenario when you want to exit an app. For example, you play a game, you're done - do you press home or back? Or, you're in the Facebook app and you want to exit to the homescreen - what do you press - back or home? At first, I thought both buttons do the same with the difference that home brings you to the homescreen instantly while back goes through your previous steps/pages/screens in the current app and then returns you the homescreen.
But later I noticed that 'reactivating' some apps that were exited via the back button cause them to 'reload' (the loading screen shows up - with certain games, grooveshark's loading screen, etc.) while they switch back instantly when "exited" with the home button.
I gather the way to 'leave' an app you don't plan on using for at least a short while (I am not talking about closing the app, I know it's up to Android, or some task-killer) is the back button, while home is more for task switching/starting new apps while old ones are running.
If I go to use the camera or am not careful in other apps, my hand touches one of these keys and I am exited from the app I was using. Is there any kind of skin to put on top of this until that would make these buttons available when I actually need to press them? Or is there some setting in the menus to disable them, or configure them?
