HTC Hero :: Compatible With Many PDAs

I got my htc hero (t-mobile) last week, very please with it.i'm having a problem installing tomtom 6 that i've used previously on my nokia n73, cos it's on mini sd, i've copied it to a micro sd and inserted it in the hero, no installation option it's just on the root dir of the micro sd, tried to run the ttn.cab,but no option to run it ,all i get is copy,paste, move i bought the tomtom 6 on a mini sd 3 years ago, used it on nokia no problem, and on the box it says it's compatible with many PDAs and mobile phones. i don't want to fork out another, when i goggled it ,i found the same product on a micro sd. exactly the same box that i bought from tomtom.

Will flashing a froyo rom on the hero make it compatible with flash 10.1? For instance, flashing the Elelinux rom based on froyo or the upcoming Froyo Sense Rom, VillainRom 13. Just wondering if it would work.

I lost my fake HTC Hero car charger and am considering getting a new one. My question is do unofficial chargers affect the overall battery life? Are genuine ones actually worth getting given the difference in price? I feel like in the 3 months I've had my phone the battery life has gone really bad but it could be because I have used it as a satnav a lot and had it plugged into my car even maybe when it didn't need charging.

Since Bluetooth is sketchy on the Hero, I figure it would be useful to have a list of peoples' experiences with different devices. If you have a Bluetooth device, please reply with it's manufacturer, name, the exact OS you are using, and how well it works. I'll try to keep this post updated.

Just a few questions on flashing a new radio on a Sprint Hero, as I'd like to be sure I won't brick my phone and there really don't seem to be many guides on this.
Are certain radios only compatible with certain ROMs? If so, what do you do if you want to flash a new ROM afterwards? In the event a radio flash fails, can you attempt to flash a different one or is your phone pretty much bricked at that point?
I'll probably have more questions later, as the thought of bricking my new Hero is well, I'd really rather not have to go back to my old BlackBerry.

I have been looking all over the forums for a list of premade themes compatible with fresh 1.1 that i can load through the pre-kitchen? all i can find is backgrounds and also i am lookin for custom lock screens but i cant find those either( would this be something i would make myself using metamorph?)

Is the palm pre charger compatible with the evo? I forgot my charger at work and the only charger that I have at home is for the palm pre. The plug fits in the evo and light turns on when charging so it should work right?

Which ROM is most compatible with 2.1OTA? I rooted using the Eris Master App, and used Eris Official 1.0. I mainly wanted to be able to wireless tether, and for now want my phone to be close to original. Looking through all the different ROM features can be overwhelming.

I have plugged my blackberry charger and my car charger into my Dinc and received a message that said, "The charger you have plugged in is not compatible with the phone. Please unplug it before it ruins your phone", that's not word for word but you get the idea. I had my phone on the stock charger the one that came with the phone on the phone over night and I got up this morning and and it said the same thing that my charger was incompatible and could ruin my phone. Is this a bug in the phone and has anyone else experienced this?

I'm interested in trying out Qik but when I check the list of compatible phones (Qik | Supported Devices) the Incredible isn't listed. Does anyone know if this phone is compatible with a download that is meant for another phone (Eris)? I'm still learning the ins and outs of this phone and my understanding of it is fairly basic at this point. I do not want to get knee-deep in trying to figure this out myself.

I've got the SGS and love it and have recommended it a friend but I've realised he uses a Mac and I have read somewhere that Mac's don't work with it, specifically the Samsung software. I just use mine with the PC connected as an eternal drive and don't bother with the Kies - can the same be done with the Mac?

That`s a indication that the charger is not compatible. Don`t use other charger when charging because it is not safe. So I flashed CM6 that was ported for the Eris and I looked in the ROM manager application and noticed that there are updates you can check for. If theres an update will it be compatible with me phone? Because it was ported for the eris. So does that cause any issues?

Flixster (aka "Movies") won't connect - get a "The network connection failed. Press Retry to make another attempt." Retry fails continuously. Is Flixster having problems w/2.2? Other apps I try connect to data just fine...phone shows 3G and 3 bars.

Ever since I rooted and flashed a couple ROMs my Pandora audio quality has been CRAP. I have searched for answers in this forum and have come up empty handed... I really like the performance I'm getting now that I'm rooted but Pandora is a must have for me - so if I can't get it fixed I'll have to go back to stock - BOO. Does anyone know of a ROM that gives the same audio quality as the stock 2.1 OS? Or does anyone know if I'm maybe just doing something wrong?

I loaded up the Alarm Clock app from the current git (http:// android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/packages/apps/ AlarmClock.git;a=snapshot;h=c8208f9f6ff76479da3b1eb0cedbd5500b8be1f4;sf=tgz) into eclipse, and there are a lot of errors, unfound imports and things like that.Are the 'cupcake' versions of the /apps/ incompatible with the current SDK? Should I bother trying to fix them?
