Trying to find what some of the best android widgets are in market. I've downloaded a few RSS feeders and they just weren't as good looking as the regular widgets that come with the phone.

Has anyone done this update? I am afraid that if i update it will change the way it looks to something less appealing because of the whole HTC C&D letter.

He noted to use a backup program to save the application if you want to use it going forward.Quite unfortunate, but figured it was worth mentioning if others haven't seen it.

I kinda wish Market didn't leave incompatible apps off the list. They should just not let it install. I spent a long time thinking I mispelled "Beautiful".Anyway it's showing up now.
I know how to use the Normal 3 Page android view v. 7 Page sense. I like HTC sense but think that the icons are getting boring, I downloaded the droid icons (2.0 icons) and used better cut to change it. But it will not work with HTC Sense so i am using the 3 Page android one. My question is, is their any download in the market or online that lets you add the Sense widgets to the normal android screens. I have astro file explorer and will try to search for the widgets in the htc folder and copy them to the android widgets folder.

I was interested if I could add htc widgets to that home screen so i wont be stuck with those crappy default android. I am well aware that you can download new widgets off of the market but none of them are of the same caliber of the htc widgets.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIm using the new fresh 2.1 ROM which is awesome. In 1.5 I used the settings widgets to turn on/off wifi, 3g etc. On 2.1 there is a power manager widget that basically has wifi, BT, GPS, screen brightness and sync all in one widget. I liked the other widgets better as I had the ability to turn off 3g with it. Is there any way to get thos widgets back in 2.1? Another thing I've noticed is that in 1.5 you could turn off the GPS and not affect the location services but in 2.1 I cant find a similar setup....

Now, I really don't care about the bookmarks, but I used the month view for my Exchange account all the time. I can't seem to find a way to get them back, any ideas?

- Friend Stream
- Mail widgets
So I removed a widget and then went back to put it back on and got the msg there wasn't room. I played around a bit moving and removing items to make room. I learned that while there doesn't seem to be room for the widget, there is room for the "program" for the same app/function.So now I'm wondering, what is the difference between these three?Will one result in more or less battery drain? Is the widget quicker to launch it's program equivalent?Should I avoid placing one type on the home page?

For widgets I can delete the app If I don't want it anymore, but If i still need it how do i take it off.I added a mail shortcut on the home screen, and I haven't been using it since my e-mails are synced. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've searched on here, but none of the threads really answered my question post the 2.1 second upgrade. Which widgets use battery life even during sleep mode/when the homescreen ISN'T actively being displayed? I was under the impression that homescreen widgets don't load until you swipe to that homescreen (except for Twitter of course). The Facebook and YouTube widgets always load up with new status updates and videos recommended for me after I turn my phone from sleep mode. These widgets are all on one screen, so if I wake my phone up and swipe to the screen with Facebook and Youtube, they will show facebook status updates that say like updated 2 mins ago and Youtube will have the slideshow going of videos recommended for me. Also, does the official HTC battery widget cause high battery drain? I may to look at my friend's Droid at work and see how he gets 2 days of battery life. He doesn't seem like he would lie about it, and says when he uses the web it dies fast. However, he did say that it pulls his email automatically for him so he must not be turning 3G off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I did an update check on my HTC Hero, even though I already had 2.1 eclair on it, it noted there was a new update available, but being impatient I didn't read what update it was, and just downloaded and updated.
In software info it says:

When the update was complete, it deleted ALL my factory widgets. Not just off the home-screen, but completely off the OS. I cannot add them. The ones missing of the top of my head are Clock/Weather widget. The stand-alone weather widget. The twitter widget. The email widget. The notes widget. The bookmark widget. Friends widget.... Probably more that I can't think of. These are completely gone from the phone, I cannot re-add them.
Has anyone else had this problem? Seems very unusual... The OS has suddenly become quite buggy too... Voice to text isn't working at all, alot of the applications are force-shutting down. Is this perhaps a buggy release?
Might be worth noting I've had absolutely no issues with any previous software updates.
I have installed GDE the replacement home screens. However when i try to add widgets the only options i have are the installed widgets and no where can i add the HTC widgets....am i missing something or is this a bug in the application.

View 11 Replies View RelatedFirst time poster but been reading for a week or so since i got my hero. I rooted with fresh 1.1 and put a new kernal in and it flies....love it.
My question is can you add widgets from websites like espn...like the widgets that you can put on your desktop. Im just curious cuz i want to add a widget from a site called "rotoworld.com" its a fantasy sports site and there is no widget obviously on the phone like that. I can add it to my desktop on my computer or igoogle(not sure what that is).
I rooted my phone last night and was reinstalling all my apps and widgets. Before I went to bed, I clicked to download the HTC widgets battery, coin, and dice. I woke this morning to find 2 of them were stuck installing and one was downloading. I was able to cancel the downloading one and download and install it. The others are still stuck labeled 'installing' and I can't find any way to cancel or make them proceed. Any suggestions?
