Android :: Mobile Browser Barcode Reader?
Apr 13, 2010I placed this query on another board but no ones has been able to help so far. Anyone any idea if this exists or nor? Is there any way of reading a barcode from your mobile browser? I'm sure I'm missing something here. Every time I find a barcode while browsing on my phone I then have to open the same web page on a desktop / laptop so I can snap it with the barcode reader on my phone. I'm probably just being stupid but can I get my phone browser to read the barcode? Do any browsers offer this as a plugin?

Mar 25, 2010I am creating an application that checks the installation of a package and then launches the market-place with its id.
When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.

However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:

I have tried to download it from the Market Place but it seems that I must read a barcode before I can do it.

Apr 29, 2010Just got my droid incredible tonight and when trying to use the barcode scanner app it keeps trying to focus and just as it is about to lock in on the bar code, it goes out of focus and back in focus again... and repeats over and over.I tried cleaning the glass but it is pretty darn clean. Jan 24, 2010My family has got three android phones, an HTC Hero, a Samsung Galaxy, and a T-Mobile Pulse, all are running android 1.5 with the latest manufacturer firmware. On the T-Mobile Pulse, when searching for a couple of apps (ones that I have installed on the other two devices), I get returned 'no matches'. For example, if I search for 'BrightAI', which is a developer who has around 8 apps on the market, I get no matches. If I search for individual apps, I get 'no matches'. Searching for the same on either the Hero or Galaxy returns the expected results. Does anyone have any ideas why certain apps are accessible on one device, but not the other?

One thing I noticed, in the Google Android keynote speech this year, they seem to demonstrate a very different looking android market website. Control over buying apps and automatically having your phone install them remotely, etc. Is that something that coming soon?
