View 5 RepliesIf you do a Nandroid backup, then save the file from your SD card... can you use that same file to do a Nandroid Restore on a new replacement Eris? Seems like that should work, but I just want to make sure it's not phone-dependent.
View 16 Replies View RelatedForgive me if this has been answered already, I didn't really know how to search for this... But today I tried to do a Nandroid Backup and when I did it said "error: Run 'nandroid-mobile.sh' via adb!" But I've previously been able to just click Nandroid Backup and it will backup my phone..
View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I do a nandroid backup, do I first need to wipe data/dvalik first? I've searched the threads, but no one has mentioned doing a wipe before a nandroid.
View 13 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, and I never had this problem before, but I just tried to do a new nandroid backup and it says this: Error : Run 'nandroid-mobile.sh' via adb! What is this!
View 2 Replies View RelatedNow following the nandroid backup my desire just keeps rebooted? I've read that restoring the nandroid cures the loop, so its restoring as we speak. Please tell me this is a normal occurance.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a replacement and want to make sure if i make a nandroid backup on my current phone once rooted i can restore it on my new droid?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI saw some similar threads in other phone forums (eris, EVO) but I'm wondering if anyone has had luck with this on the Dinc.
Verizon is shipping me what I assume is a refuted phone. If I turn it on, root it, and throw in my old SD card, will there be any trouble doing a typical nandroid restore?
i saw written previous issues of the title of the nandroid folder name (something about the correct phone serial number?)
edit: alternative could be titanium backup, but i don't know if one's preferable to the other.
I'm going to root my wifes phone today. Was wondering if I can run unrevoked on her phone then just transfer one of my nandroid backups to get her up and running quickly. Been using a virtuous Rom.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a nandroid backup of 2.1 with radio 1.x I have gone to unrevoked forever and updated the radio to 2.5. Will I brick my phone is I restore the 2.1 backup or will I just have 2.1 with current 2.5 radio?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat is the difference in these? I can do a nandroid backup or a nandroid+ext backup.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my Droid's screen recently stopped working and I'm getting an exchange with Verizon. I have to send my dead phone back once I get the new one, and am concerned about the fact that it's rooted running Froyo. I'd like to restore the nandroid backup I made of stock 2.1. Can somebody give me advice on how to do this with a dead screen? Perhaps from the command line on my computer via USB, or perhaps the key strokes to do it in nandroid so I can replicate it by feel?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to do a nandroid restore on my phone, do I have to wipe data factory reset and dalvik cache or can I just restore the file? Also, if I renamed the file will it still restore ok?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes the Nandroid backup get contacts I've manually input into the phone too? Whats the best way to save my contacts? When I get Fresh .02, I lost all my damn contacts, I just got them all put back in but I want to do Fresh 0.3.
View 16 Replies View RelatedOK so i rooted my GSM hero and i forgot to do a nandroid backup before i loaded my custom ROM. i want to go back to the stock ROM. how do i go about doing that? i currently have the phone booted up into recovery mode?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have titanium backup, but what is nandroid and if i need to re-install both what do each do in the way of backups? main reason i ask is because my phone went into a boot-loop again today. its ok now but if i need to flash the rom to get it working another time id like to have a backup of passwords and settings for email and facebook accounts to save the hassle of putting in again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had to get a replacement phone. New phone came with 2.2, so obviously I need to root it. But my question is, can I make a nan backup of my old phone, and once my new phone is rooted restore to my old phones backup?
I have heard that a nandroid backup is saved in seperate folders depending on your phones serial number. I'm not sure how true that is. Someone said that I would have to make a nan backup on the new phone so it creates a seperate folder, and then copy my old backup into the new folder, and restore.
I have CWM Touch Recovery v6.0.3.1. A couple of hours ago, I made a NANDroid backup before flashin a new ROM. When I attempted to use NANDroid backup manager to restore my apps and data, the app said I had no apps in the backup. Upon reviewing the files CWM created, I discovered that it created several data.ext4.tar files. Is there a way to combine these so I can use the Nandroid backup manager to restore my apps. I've managed to restore call logs, text messages and wifi data but my apps are important too.
I do realize I could probably use CWM for restoring but I want to restore specific apps and not the data. (I.e the recently updated hotmail app) Plus, restoring with CWM flashes data that is incompatible with the new ROM.
So I've rooted my phone but I want to install a custom ROM. I've read that I need (and I definitely want) to create a nandroid backup. The only problem is I have no idea how. I have ROM Manager installed. I read I need to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery so I did that. However, when I try to reboot into recovery either through Rom Manager or just holding volume down and power I get nothing. Does anyone have a clear and detailed guide on what to do? I'm not dead set on using Rom Manager I was just reading that it'd be easier.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am a rooting noob, and I have made two backups with nandroid, but I can't find either on my SD card. I am looking on the root of the card.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIf i make a nadroid backup will it overwrite the last one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo a quick question that I have been unable to find the answer to, does nandroid backup photos as well? If not, where can I find them on the phones internal storage to copy to my pc? I am also using Titanium, does that backup photos?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way, besides installing the backup to determine what ROM is in it? I have a bunch of backups and would like to know if they are important anymore or not.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just wondered if anyone had done a successful restore, how it went and what you see on screen.
View 45 Replies View RelatedI've just rooted my 3UK Hero using the Goldcard method, as I want the 2.1 sense ROM installed onto my phone. I've loaded the 1.5 software. I've rooted using instant root - I know this much has worked as I've been able to install the apps which require root access.
I'm sure I've been following the guide to the letter (otherwise I'd never have got this far with it). However, when I start up the phone in recovery mode, I don't get the option of backup/restore.
I turn the phone back on, by holding the home and power key. After the Hero logo, I get a triangle with a '!' in and underneath that, is a little picture of a phone. So I press Home and Power again and the Android system recovery utility screen appears. I get the following options:-
reboot system now [Home+Back]
apply sdcard:update.zip [Alt+S]
wipe data/factory reset [Alt+W]
At the bottom of the screen is the following message:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
I have achieved rooting of my sprint hero cdma phone, but can not get to nandroid backup. i attempted to recovery reboot and it freezes at the htc screen, multiple times. i did luckily backup everything from my sd card and my apps/data before i did anything so i can get back to basics at least with root. i have formatted my sd card, and replaced it with everything that was on there directly after rooting. i can do a speedboot and see the menu to do the backup option, but i get the same results.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis may be somewhat of a silly/dumb question.....but can I rename the Nandroid backup files that I have made doing backups before flashing ROMs? I would like to know which one is which and I don't want to rely on my memory to have to remember. If this has been answered before, I apologize. If someone could point me in the right direction this thread can be deleted if it is old news.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have an ATT galaxy S3, and I just finished a nandroid backup. However, CWM Recovery is now giving me the option to restore the ROM I just backed up (which is a stock ROM, its my first time) or just reboot. All I want is to return to my Stock Rom and continue using my phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just came across my first downfall with moving the dalvik to SD. Nandroid is stuck trying to backup cache. Im guessing the reason is that nandroid cant find the dalvik because it is not symbollically linked by S2e since we arent booted into the actaul OS. Anyway i can get nandroid to backup without moving it back?
