Has anybody seen and tried this yet: [Script] Collin_ph Battery Tweak -XDA-developers. (Note that this should work with CyanogenMod 6, Froyo ROMs without a lot of work. Other ROMs would have to be changed by their developers to work. Also note that this requires either a terminal emulator on the phone, or ADB commands from a PC, to be set up, but an app is coming at some point.)

Can someone give me tips on how to tweak settings and apps to download to make this better. also i heard that advanced task killer can actually be good if you use it as a widget? should i get an 1800mAh battery? someone help me im really pissed
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I'm not sure if any of you have been reading or trying out some of the SetCPU values a fellow over at XDA is suggesting. Froyo ROMs increase your battery life! try this (UPDATE 08/26/2010) - xda-developers. Basically, whatever you want your max to be (700+ish) and setting the min down to 19 (lowest it can go).
I remember reading something about it not being good to have your CPU jumping 300+ Mhz, which it clearly would be doing with these values. I would ask over there, but that place kind of scares me Just wondering if any of the fine, intelligent folks over here have any advice on this. I would love for my eris to idle at 19200 but not at the cost of my battery and/or the phone itself.
Here are a few simple tweaks I discovered to make your Kaos Froyo rom as fast or faster than most 2.1 based roms. These settings make a world of difference in how the phone responds and make Froyo a joy to use!
1. Ditch Adw and install Launcher Pro. 90% of the slowness comes from Adw!
2. Go to settings/display/animation and turn off all animations. They might look neat, but youll be surprised at how fast the phone is without them.
3. Under LauncherPro preferences, go to Advanced Settings and change the opening speed to 10 for both options.
4. Install setcpu and set it for 245,710 for normal use, and 245,480 for when the screen is off. Kaos rom is already overclocked to 710 so this is just for extra battery life.
5. reboot the phone after applying the tweaks and enjoy a very fast eris.
Seriously, after doing this my phone flies like it has never done before on any 2.1 based rom. Changing between apps is instant and everything is extremely responsive. I love this rom!
When I heard the official 2.1 ROM was being but put, I finally went for it and rooted and upgraded to Villian ROMS 5.4. Its good but as with other 2.1 ROMS the battery life isn't great, even with Juice Defender/Ultimate Juice installed. I've no idea how the ROMS are coded and optimized and put together so i don't know if battery life in the future will be improved? Can someone throw some light on it please? I'm considering downgrading to a 1.5 ROM in the meantime.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to determine how much better my battery life is based on non-scientific normal everyday usage. I installed Sky Raider 1.9 on my phone. Charged two of my extra stock 1300mAH batteries to 100% and have been running them on the phone. Will restore back to my stock ROM and try the same and see the difference. What have you guys found? Aren't we supposed to see improved battery with Froyo?

DroidX Boot Screen
Rotary Lockscreen
ADW Launcher
It's a great combination, but the one thing I miss right now came from the BakedSnack 9.6 ROM and that's the 6 segmented round battery meter in the status bar. Anyone know how to get that or at least something better than the default battery icon?

Reason for this thread is to share what ROMS you've gotten best battery life from, cuz I'm trying to venture out and try some different ones with the best life.
1: Where can I find a extended life battery at for under $50? I like listening to radio stations through apps like iheartradio and it just kills my battery. Do I need an extended life battery to fix this or is there another way?
2: Is there a battery problem with ss 4.4? I noticed after 1/2 hour of use it goes from 100% to 90% then after two hours of texting and email it goes down to 70%.
I have the droid rooted running lfy 1.7. My battery life has been ok but not great. About 10-12 hours of life when I send about 3 texts one or 2 calls and an occasional download. I have also run udx 8.0, cm6, charity, and bugles .5. Udx has about 8-10 hours, cm6 has about 6-8 hours, charity has 10-12 hours and bugless has 5-7 hours. I was wondering what Roms you are using and what battery life you are getting. Please include the kernel, your speed you run at, and your usage.

I am moving from an Eris to Droid and I like the pinch-zoom feature of the Eris and I know there are some Rooted mods for this feature. just curious if my battery life would get a lot worse then Stock. View 7 Replies View RelatedJust a little heads up out there for people like me who flash roms ten times a day. If you haven't already experienced this issue, you are likely to come across it in the future.
It is probably a good idea to make a backup of the contents of your sd card to keep when flashing from an a2sd enable rom to a non a2sd enabled rom. If your partitioned for a2sd and flash a non a2sd rom it will hold you phone at the boot screen or send you into an endless boot cycle.
I had to take everything off my sd card, re format the card, then flash the rom before I could load everthing back onto the card.
I may be a total noob, and for all you smart people this is probably a no brainer. But if I can keep anyone else from having this headache I thought it best to post it.
Now that I'm rooted, I'm anxious to try out some custom ROMs, but too impatient for Eris-specific ones to be released. Do ya'll think ROMs made for the Hero will work fine on the Eris?

I was running Liquid Froyo 1.9 and even 1.95 using slayher kernel and i even tried the p3droid kernel and when i reached about 40% battery, my battery would just jump to 20% and after that pretty quickly to about 5% and then its dead. I recently installed ultimate droid 2.0.0 also using slayher and even then it still did it. I don't understand why this is happening, i havn't even used my phone that much for it to reach 5% so fast, especially jump from 40 or 50% down to 20% in an instant.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk all of a sudden, my phone will not vibrate for messages anymore. Even if I put the sound profile to vibrate, it will not. Anyone experienced this or is there some type of setting that can tweak this?
It all of a sudden started doing this like an hour ago. It will play a notification sound if I want it to but will not vibrate, which is how i like to receive my texts. I have the option checked for phone to vibrate when messages are received and nothing at all.
I just got G1 phone and I think its awesome. The biggest weakness on this phone is vibration. Even I put G1 phone o my computer desk next to me. I cant feel a thing seriously but with my old Blackberry I can. I really need it badly since I am deaf. I found a funny app called Vibrator and vibration actually can last longer than the notification setup. I figure someone can help me setup fast and simple apps that allows us to tweak vibration to be stronger. I know Blackberry has range 1 to 10, let me decide what works best for me. How do I formally request Android Team or Google/TMO to look at it?

2) the zplayer lockscreen is a pain. i got to swipe a few times to unlock the phone while zplayer is playing. is there a way to just swipe once to unlock it?
3) the sliders to fast foward or rewind arent very responsive. is there a way to "grab" the sliders better to make it move smoother?
there a way to edit the file of zplayer to correct all these errors.
