I have the EVO and I am having trouble with the voicemail app., when I go to the voicemail screen to listen to msgs none of the buttons are responding...the speaker/trash/callback buttons do not respond.

ok so so about an hour ago i was playing with my phone and everything worked. I set it down and then go take a shower and i hear it chime so i get out and towel off and go to the kitchen where i left it and tried turning the screen on to see who it is....nothing
the screen is black and the none of the buttons seem to be responding, the only thing working is a blinking orange led light. so im thinking the battery is dead and i can just put it in the charger i do that and the blinking stays for about 30 seconds and then stops and i tried turning it on again and its still black. Normally i can just turn the phone on when its charging but this time no.
So I was trying to edit the buttons on my Tmo Galaxy S3 (with AOKP Milestone 2) and accidentally broke all of them. They don't respond at all now.
I went into system/usr/keylayout. I copied the files to my sd card. Then I edited them (I also kept a backup of the old files). When I was finished I went back to the system/user/keylayout section and pasted the new files. As soon as I exited the file browser my phone reset itself. When the phone came back on none of the keys worked.
So I deleted the files I put in, and replaced them with the old files that were there before (using pie controls to navigate). I reset my phone using the app Quick Boot because I heard you have to reboot your phone in order for the new software coding to take effect. But still none of the hardware keys work.
I don't understand. All of the original files are there now. I'm afraid to let my phone die or to even turn it off because I don't know if the power button will work anymore. To wake up my phone I have to plug it into the charger and then use pie controls to navigate. get the hardware keys back to the way they were?
I have two buttons on a widget that change some items in a widget, if an orientation is changed on a phone, buttons do nothing. I read http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/runtime-changes.html but this is all about activity not widget.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've searched all over the internet, and all over my phone trying desperately to figure out why I can't listen to my voicemail anymore. I installed Fusion Visual Voicemail a few weeks ago, and didn't really use it that much, so I uninstalled it. My phone crashed and I had to hard reset it, but I'm still getting those texts from the App when I receive a new voicemail. They don't make sense, it's all a bunch of numbers. When I try to call my voicemail it's another answering service. I can't find it under the "Manage Applications" tab.
I'm sorry if these seems redundant or ridiculously stupid.
My girlfriend just got an x10 to match mine and for some reason every once and a while, the 3 buttons at the bottom completely stop working. At first I thought the phone froze but I could still use the on-screen keyboard and press whatever I wanted on screen but the 3 buttons wouldn't work oO This has NEVER happened with my phone.
After searching around a bit, I only found one solution which was "if you have a gel phone cover, take it off and see if it works." We tried that and it seems (so far, for an hour or so) that it's working fine. That doesn't make much sense to me as we have the same phone and the same cover - just a different colour. Anyone had this problem before? Should we be bringing the phone back or is there something I'm overlooking?
How to remove the display of text messages on the unlock screen. When I receive a new message all I want is to see the icon up in the notification area and the green blinking light. I don't want the message displayed at all on my unlock screen. So does anyone know if there is a setting or a hack that can be done to do this?

Everything else is working fine and I'm still getting messages and notifications (and my alarms are going off), but I can't get to any of it. I've backed it up and tried to do a hard reset, but holding down the volume down + power button is just taking a screenshot and then restarting. I can't do it through settings as the touch screen is not working.

The simple turn off and on the screen fix the problem for a few minutes but then again is not working, and is frozen in the lock screen so i have to do the off/on trick few times to make it responsive. I tried the stock rom the modaco rom and now i am using AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.2.2_r1 but it is all the same. Every time i flashed a rom i did the full wipe. Sometimes is even frozen in recovery mode. It aIso sometimes reboot when it get frozen. I have 1.4a loader and i tried with all the twrp versions now i am on 2.5

Everything worked smooth since 1 year, and 2 days ago suddenly the touch screen stop responding. The phone works, I receive calls but I cannot answer since I cannot swipe. All the side button works, but the front button on the screen (menu, option, back and search buttons) do not work at all. I tried to reboot but nothing. I took sim, battery and microSD out for one entire night and then rebooted in the morning (without sim and microSD) but nothing. I also rebooted the same morning with sim and microSD but nothing. I ended up to try a factory reset even if I dont have a backup but I figured out I cannot do it because when I reboot and press volume up and power button then I cannot press the menu bottom when I see the robot with the box since the menu bottom does not respond!
View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically on Saturday it was raining hard where I live and I was out and about with my tattoo in my pocket. I used it a few times whilst out but made sure it didn't get too wet although I personally got drenched and the phone was in my wet trouser pocket! That evening the touch screen stopped responding completely, nothing would happen when I touched the screen at all! The directional buttons like home and menu worked however. I then took the battery out and put it back in, but still no luck, the touch screen was dead. Resigned to having to send it back to HTC, I left it switched off over night. The next morning I switched it on again and it started to work fine again!! No problems, so I thought the problem had passed.
But then a bit later in the day the same thing happened again, touch screen not responding but this time as well although I wasn't touching the screen the tattoo was pressing the touch screen button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen on its own!? So that made me think that the touch screen was indeed broken! I then performed a complete factory reset last night, and yet again after that the phone was working fine again. But then again when my alarm went off this morning, the touch screen was not responding again and the tattoo was pressing that same button again on its own, on and off. So I took the battery out again, left for a few hours, just turned it back on now and the tattoo is working fine again!
I've only had my Droid a few weeks and am still getting used to it. Yesterday, on a business trip, it was working fine. I plugged it in last night, and now the screen is not responding to my touch (it is loading messages because I can hear the tone). I can't unlock it, I can't turn it off. What have I done and how can I fix it?

For instance, I can type in a google search, but I can't click on any of the results, but I can click on the "Options" tab next to each hyperlink. As I click on these links, they will become underlined, but nothing happens. I tried a factory reset on calibration and that did not work.

If I hold the power button the phone options (silent mode, airplane, and power off) buttons work, but I cannot physically slide to unlock the phone.
I need to get into the phone to backup some information, is there a way to bypass the unlock screen? the keyboard works and so does the screen, but for some reason I can't hit the slider at the bottom of the screen to unlock or mute the phone.
My Touch screen was acting up the last few days (not responding intermittently) and then yesterday I installed a new rom from Jrummy (Kangerade V5.0.9)... once it booted up I was unable to "Touch the Droid to Start" or whatever is says and after multiple battery pulls and restoring to old roms, nothing has changed.. When they boot up I cant get past the lock screen..
I went to Verizon and they are sending me out a new phone should be here tomorrow or Friday. Do I need to be worried about sending a rooted phone back to Verizon? Is there anything that I can try to do to unroot with out my touch screen working? Is there a way to get the screen working again?
I can still boot into Clockwork Recovery, and all the hard buttons work. Obviously I am a novice with all of this, so your patients and understanding is appreciated.
i tried flashing and rooting using this thread: URL....but all went wrong when i flashed the kernel using flash mode. Im using a sony ericsson live with walkman. Using falshtool 0.9.11.0 all was fined. it displayed flashing done.
then i followed the steps then tried to root it. but couldn't as it in the command prompt it kept waiting for my device and sometimes displayed daemon tools load successfully. my phone screen remained black and was not responding.when i connect it to my pc it seemed it is not recognized but makes the sound when something is connected to the pc. i am unable to use my phone.i think there is the problem with the adb.i just dont get it well. i cant updat the sm bus driver..when i try to reflash it and re plug via cable it display:

Any one have this happen? I reboot, turned off overclock (was at 800mhz), pull battery, no go. Think it could be rom related? I am thinking of installing a new rom and wiping the phone, not sure.

I've noticed over the past week or so my Eris seems to be getting a little sluggish/touch screen a little slow in responding. I was wondering how can I tell what could be causing this? Are there certain programs that slow the down the phone more than others?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy aunt gave me a Samsung Galaxy S2 and everything was fine, except that it didn't let me register to the network. The next day it told me that it had to do an update so I did the update. After the update the home screen turned black and pressing the buttons didn't do anything. After a while an error pops up saying "application is not responding" and then the screen just stays black. The top bar works just fine and I can even go on the internet, play games, practically do everything. I did a factory reset by pressing Volume up + Home + Power 3 times already, but the only thing that changed is that the language turned into German.. the screen stays black. It had nothing to do with Rooting or Flashing, because I don't even know what that is.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus One and while using Google Listen to listen to podcasts my screen lock will go into effect. Unfortunately, when this happens, the podcast audio pauses. I can set the screen timeout to a maximum of 30 minutes but some of the podcasts are longer than that.
Is there anyway to have Listen suspend the screen timeout while it is running?
So through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.
