View 2 RepliesSo my phone is rooted and I want to know if when I run an antivirus will it show my root or apps as viruses if they have superuser permissions? Because when I run antivirus it shows several viruses. If I clean them idk what it will do. And when I say several I mean like 50 to 100 files show infections.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with my phone being bored and went into the superuser permissions app. I was looking at all the entries that were in there and I know that it's just a list of permissions you've allowed on your phone. Anyway I wanted to see what would happen if I clicked on one of them. Well it cleared it from the list and I just clicked on all of them so when I'm in the SU app there is nothing there. Now when I try and get into one of my apps that require permission it tells me it requires root and doesn't have permission. So it looks like I blocked all permissions for my rooted apps. The question is how do I get it back? I'm sure I can just reflash a nandroid backup I have but I was wondering if there is any other way?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the app "Superuser Permissions" BUT I don't see it in the Market as even existing. Also, I have been more seeing people mentioning "Superuser" app recently - like OMJ. Well, when you search "Superuser Permissions" in the Market they show the app "Superuser" and not "Superuser Permissions".. what's up with that? So, I tried to download "Superuser", but I get a Failed Installation app.
View 40 Replies View RelatedI rooted only for the free wireless tethering capability and now I am stuck on 2.1 and would like update to Froyo. I have read all the forums about flashing a custom rom etc, but it all seems to go over my head. Does anyone have advice on the easiest/best way to update to 2.2 but keep root and wireless tether, etc? Can I just accept the ota 2.2 update and re-root or would that mess things up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've done a NAND backup, and I downloaded the full pay version of titanium backup and have frozen the bloatware and backed up everything on TB as well. so, now wondering how to do the fun stuff.
1. Should I try a new rom? If so which one is a good place to start for a noob? I am just looking mainly for something cool, clean, hopefully increase speed, eliminate lag, and has some cool stuff built in so I dont have to figure out how to do that stuff myself. Also I would want a ROM that still allows 4g etc.. and all the good stock stuff
2. Now that I am rooted, how do I backup things to the SD card? Previously I used the appstosd app from the market, shoudl I just keep using that? Anything that I should NOT transfer to SD, or can I just move everythign that it allows me to?
I had my Evo rooted with Unrevoked and then it stopped working when I did the OTA update (I believe this happened for everybody). So then I uninstalled Unrevoked and I saw that Superuser Permissions was still there in the apps list, so I uninstalled that too. But now I think I want Superuser Permissions back, but it didn't get installed when I tried to install Unrevoked again. How can I get it back? Also, am I correct that it was bundled along with Unrevoked when I installed it the first time, or is it park of the Android OS?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Hero on the Sprint network and I'm currently trying to root it. I follow the instructions according to this guide. Root your HTC Hero CDMA Stock Android 2.1 | Gadgets DNA. and i get to step 9 and enter what I am supposed to. The problem is that when I go to my app tray there is not application for Superuser permissions... I have pushed all the indicated files to my sdcard and nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with my superuser app and wireless tethering. I just flashed a new rom (xtrSENSE) and successfully set up tethering on my phone. However, I think I screwed something up after that. I allowed permission for access, and went back in to the superuser app later, clicked on the corresponding line and it disappeared. When I went back in to tether my phone today, it transferred to the SU app and promptly froze, later force closing. Every attempt since has had the same result.
I have tried changing several settings and even flashed a new rom (aloysius) to try to fix it. I have no idea what I did, but it freezes then force closes every time I try to get into the SU app. The only thing i can imagine I did is click on the permission but I don't know how that can screw things up. Anyone know what I did or have suggestions to fix? I'm really missing tethering. Thanks!
Went back to an old nandroid backup and restarted my phone... all better now. No idea what the problem was, but it clearly was user error. Sorry to clutter up the boards.
Well I've been messing with app inventor and I'm comfortable with it now and would like to make an app that uses superuser permissions. To add to plainjane. But haven't found out how to call the su app let alone how to implement it with app inventor. how to call and maybe how to implement it to app inventor?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn G5 and Modaco RC3 every time my phone starts up, it'll ask if Titanium Backup can have superuser. If I look at the permissions list, I can see the apps I've allowed. But, every time I run them, it prompts. This happens when any app wants su.I've tried changing the option in Superuser to Toast as someone suggested on another forum but that has not fixed it.

View 22 Replies View RelatedAfter rooted my Galaxy S, everything work fine except one problem that I need help.
Under Superuser Permissions, I have seen a very long log, and there is no way to delete or celar them off my Galaxy s. For sure it will take up storage memory. No clear log option in Settings of Superuser Permission 2.3.4.
Any friend here can tell me how can I delete or clear this Superuser log? So that it won't eat up my storage space.
My Sprint HTC hero is rooted running Fresh 2.1.2 and whenever I open superuser or try to run an app that requires root I just get a black screen that says (Su Request) at the top and it just stays their and does nothing. Any takers on how to actually launch the program that requires root or what to do with this screen?
Problem programs:
Cachemate
OverclockWidget
Setcpu
Superuser Permission
What does this mean? is it normal? i have it showing up quite a few times in my superuser logs. like, several times within a minute. today is the first day. been running this rom for about a week.
I read that disabling usb debugging will stop it, but thats already disabled...
I am running dmans stock ics for samsung captivate glide.
I recently awoke my Galaxy Nexus (takju) from the lockscreen; inadvertently pressing the key combo [vol-up + vol-down + power] initiating a 'Bug Report' (dumpstate) command
Upon entering the Homescreen I was seeing the infamous 'shell has been granted Superuser permissions' toast ~2 seconds apart which lasted ~2 minutes, subsequently vibrating and opening a new message in Gmail containing 2 files - bugreport-date-time.txt and Screenshot_date-time.png (Sent from BugMailer).
This 'toast' has been reported in various device forums/threads and I thought this may shed some light; whether it was a dumpstate command initiated by an inadvertent key combo (as in my case) or a system/app crash bugreport.
If you have experienced this 'toast', check your internal storage (sdcard) for the - /sdcard/bugreports/bugreport.txt and /sdcard/Pictures(in JB)/Screenshot/Screenshot.png - the timestamp of the dump should be in the filenames.
I installed Superuser Permissions before the 2.1 software was released. I have wiped my phone twice and I still can't get the app to come off my phone. I also went to manage apps and the Uninstall button is not highlighted. I need to do a warranty claim too. I have been trying since March to find somewhere how to uninstall this.

View 37 Replies View Relatedsuperuser permissions not working. i've already wiped and reflashed fresh 2.1.1. when i try to open superuser permissions all i see is a black screen. also when i use htc sense, it seems to suck up battery really fast but it runs smooth. but when i switch to the nexus launcher it takes a while to load up all the icons on the main screen. i've tried to search but it seems like the search is not accurate in hunting down the threads for me because when i try to create this thread, i see more similar threads than just simply searching for it through the top right search box.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I rooted my Droid and Superuser Permissions appeared. I looked up how to unroot and it just said to manually update to 2.0.1 (I was obviously up to 2.0.1 already) and I did, and I was hoping Superuser Permissions would disappear, but it didn't.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed the Sprint 2.1 leak RUU and then rooted. Probably backwards, but everything has been working great for the past few days regardless. My problem is when I try to use something like Titanium Backup. I get a message saying that "busybox works but the "su" command does not elevate to root" It goes on to say my superuser whitelist system app does not work. I tried to install the superuser whitelist app from the market but it said it was incompatible with my phone. What can I do now to get Superuser privileges?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my motorola droid and installed bugless beast froyo 2.2 and every time I try to use Superuser Permissions or Setcpu, it says that Superuser permissions is not responding and makes me do a force close, or send a report. Is there any way to fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to make android 4.0.4 devices rooted by superuser?
I open my superuser:
downloading manifest okay
parsing manifest okay
latest version 3.1.1
checked install version 3.1.1
fixing database okay
unpacking sutools okay
check current install path= /system/xbin/su
Downloading new binary okay
gaining root access fail
I have my device rooted by means of UnlockRoot, at first I think the version of superuser is low. So I download Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip , exact it and replace the old version superuser and su .
I click the root on the software and it seems that everything work. But the fact is that I can't find superuser in my android devices and manually install superuser by myself. And then the phenomenon above appears. It seems that I have rooted the devices and I can't get root access. It is more dangerous than I don't root the devices.
How do I get SuperUser and Busybox on my hard rooted phone(i.e. Root access from ADB and Android Commander) ? I need to install quite some apps that need internal root access from SuperUser, How do I do It?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted HTC One and I have granted SU permissions to SolidExplorer, however I still cannot seem to modify the /system folder for r/w access. When I select Properties > Attributes > Change, it has these boxes checked:
Yet, when I accept the changes, it is still only showing read access:
Even if I check all of the boxes when changing the attributes, the results are the same. I cannot copy or write files to this folder.
The permissions say that you must agree to allow them to delete files from your storage including your SD card; must agree to allow them to extract any information from your phone, etc. In other words they can do any thing they want with your phone and the data in it.
Is there any way to not grant these permissions and still get updates?
