Has anyone have this issue? When I click on somebody to text from the main text list, I can text them no problem. But when I click the back arrow to go back to the main texting list, it keeps going back to the home screen. Only start doing this today. I have no idea why. I have rebooted my phone and still doing the same think. I have to go back and forth several times before I can get to the texting list screen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a large text view that I am styling with a SpannableStringBuilder. I want to be able to assign custom click event handlers to certain spans of text. For example, if I click a superscript character I want it to pop up a toast with some information about what the superscript references. So far I have found linkify which helps to make regular expression type of things like emails and phone numbers launch appropriate activities. What I want to be able to do is define a span and its styling and assign a click handler to it. I haven't found anything built in that supports this kind of functionality and so I'm asking for anyone with a fresh idea of how to do this.

I am a rookie to android. I am thinking of implementing a simple calculator in android to get a hold of the basics in android. I want to display a keypad with numbers and mathematical operations and when the user presses the keys the corresponding number is displayed in edit text. I tried using get text() and updating the contents of edit text but it shows just the contents of pressed button. Also how do I read the contents of button so as to do mathematical operations in code?

But, I didn't specify color selector for the TextViews in the layout, because there are many TextViews with different colors and I am too lazy to define color selector for them. So the text color keeps the same when the layout is clicked. My questions is, is there an automatic way to specify that the text color is highlighted/changed when the layout is clicked, so I don't have to define color selector for each of the TextViews in a layout?

However, it seems to me to be totally random whether long pressing a link brings up the context menu (which is what I usually want), or goes into text selection mode.

I am on Android 2.1 and I have one multi column Custom listview Using BaseAdapter with an editable edittext at the end of the listview. If the data in the listview do not contain the data of user choice then user should be able to enter data. If the data is already there in the list user will be able to select the data using custom selector. If a selection is made in the list view and user wanted to enter data in the text field at the bottom after selection then the marker in the list view should be unselected. I tried to use onclick() method on edit text using click listener. First time when it is clicked, edit text is getting focus and onclick() method is not fired. And when it is clicked second time, onclick() method is fired and notifyDataSetChanged() method is called. I tried to call the notifyDataSetChanged() method from the Focus Listener, list view selection is gone in my first attempt and edit text is not receiving any data input from the keyboard (frozen).

I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView).In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth.I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I got the original 2.2 update for my Droid, whenever I get a new text message and slide down the notification bar and select the new message, it takes me to the main text message window rather than the actual thread to reply to the person. It is really annoying because it requires an extra step. I figured it would be fixed with the second 2.2 update but it didn't. I called Verizon and they called Motorola and nobody knew of the problem so they shipped me out a new phone and it still does it! I am not sure if I am the only one experiencing this or if its normal. It doesn't do it 100% of the time but closer to 90% probably.

When I touch on a choice from the drop down list, instead of setting the text of this view to the one I chose, it clears the view as if no text has been inputted. I tried to debug this and walked through the execution of the program step by step. It seems to have been cleared at around line 123 in Looper.java, which I cannot see the source.
Ok guys not sure if its just me but if i lock my phone with a text conversation it scrolls all the way to the top. No big deal ways around it, came from the eris and this phone blows it away i absolutely love it. Just wondering if froyo will fix this little annoyance?

When I want to forward a picture or text message to someone else on my contact list I always have to enter information in the "To" box. (Example) In this instance, I want to forward a text message to "Bryan." I hold down the message until the "Forward" option pops up and I select that. In this "To" box I type Bryan and nothing comes up but the number's corresponding number (B=2, R=7, etc) I do not get a drop down list giving me Bryan's name. For any text message I send I have to know the complete number of who I'm wanting to forward it to. Is there a setting I need to adjust? Or is there a app that will give me the option of bringing up my contact list so I can just select the person I want to send to via touch screen? Its very annoying.
I have searched and read that most people can just type the first few letters of a name or number and get a list of people from the contact list to choose from on the contact list however I never get anyone Thank you for any information.

I'm developing an application which has an listview. I'm currently creating the list item view dynamically from code (linearlayout, which includes 2 textviews and 1 imageview), but i'd like to use an XML resource for this. I read it is resource intensive when getting this view using findViewById within a loop. I thought of using a custom adapter for this, but am not sure on how to include lazy loading of the image then.

It seems like the best way to create a horizontal scrolling list of images is to use the Gallery widget. I need to display sidebar text with each image.The examples I have seen showing how to use the Gallery widget only show images. Is it possible to display a list of images+text descriptions in a Gallery, and if it is, does anyone have an example of how to do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company recently bought Motorola Droid phones for us to remotely adjust the amount of irrigation water released from a reservoir. To do this from a PC we place the cursor over the appropriate button on the screen and hold down the left mouse button. I can't figure out what to do to accomplish this on my phone. I've downloaded the log main ignition app and am able to remotely access the computer that controls the reservoir but can't hold down the button. Verizon is no help. They say there is probably an app for that but they don't know which one. Any suggestions
