added a quick demo video of our upcoming Android Infrared (IR) Remote.Initially it will support a full IR dbase of 300,000+ IR codes, IR learner for any code not in the dbase, Pre-Built GUI so it is simple to setup. Will add rs232, relays, and other tcp options also after initial release.

Has anyone got a link for the download of it. I simply cannot find it! I have already tried to download it direct but the store says nothing found, which is weird for a free application, and i have a unlocked x10 mini pro. 1) redirect that log to a specific file in a SD-Card 2) locate the log file, if already exist
I both cases I will create another app that uploads the Log to a server, using FTP or something.
Inst there a app that can remotely connect to ur pc so u can access all of the media (mp3s, videos, etc...)?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Xtralogic Remote Desktop app from the market today for $20, and it's a bit disappointing. It's quite laggy and buggy, and for that price...I'd expect just a teeny bit better. It's a fun app, but it's just not very functional, for me at least. Anywho, my question is: Is there a better remote desktop app out there? A free one for rooted phones? A similarly priced, but better running app? I don't mind the price so long as it is justified.

So I have been looking for the best app to do that.I tried xtralogic's rdp, which is nice, but it looks like it only works with VPN, and when I tried to VPN in, it would give me a out of memory warning, and crash.So I tried phonemypc. also nice, but that only works if the account in use is constantly logged on to the servers, which I can't do.My account always gets logged off because other users need to get on as well.is there another app that might work better than these? does anyone else have a similar problem?

Yes I have port forwarded 5800 & 5900, typed correct PW, typed server address correct etc etc. I get 2 problems, 1st it immediately says "VNC connection failed" almost TOO fast, like it doesnt even try to connect and just says failed.2nd it gets stuck connecting but never connects.I've used remote desktop with the Hero and iPhone 3gs and they were quite laggy and choppy (obviously). I'm very interested in how the Evo would look.

View 17 Replies View RelatedIm developing an app which is a product catalogue. Users can search for and view products (books). It's all read only and just so allow user's to view products. When the user clicks on a product, the next screen displays
- book title
- book author
- picture of front cover.
It's the picture part that I've a question about. I know one way to present drawables is to have them in the "drawable" direction in my android project and access them (in my xml file) as android:src="@drawable/name".
Only problem is that new products will be added so I can't store drawables in the APK file when I release it. I'll need to read them at runtime. I'm wondering what the best way to approach this is.
I'm thinking of upon app launch executing an AsyncTask which would call
openConnection of HttpURLConnection and would grab down all drawable(from a particular remote directory on a website) and would then store them in the sqllite db (as a blob). Each product in the db could easily be associated with it's specific drawable.
Not sure if there's a better approach to this ? or should I save them to the internal storage of the device (I know the size is an issue with this option). Or I could, when I show the product, call the Async task to present the image - i.e.get the image when the user requests it. This sounds good.
I have installed on my phone a app called remote lock (rlyp) this is how it works.
you send a text message to your phone for example #lock and it locks your phone with a message LOCK, with your custom message below. sending a text back saying your phone have been locked.
The only way to unlock your phone is to send another sms for example #unlock, your phone gets unlocked and sends a message back saying your phone have been unlocked.
The text messages never used to show in the sms messages nor did you get any notifications of the message received.
The only problem is with this app is since the update to kitkit, the phone displays the sms in the inbox, which I know can't be read until the phone has been unlocked, but if you forgot to delete the message and someone else say the message they could lock your phone s a prank etc.
As I don't think this app is supported anymore so any similar app out there, all I want to do is to be able to lock and unlock the phone by sms, and no other means, and for the phone that locked it to get a message saying the phone has been locked. I have seen a few apps out there which do a similar trick but they give the option to enter a password on the screen of the locked phone.
Failing that is there a way to fix the app already installed so that the phone will not display the incoming messages of the lock and unlock texts anywhere, but still allow them to work?
I have set up my new htc one as my remote control for my tv but each time I turn up the volume or change the channel the phone vibrates ? I have turned off vibrate functions for typing and through keyboard and languages. Is there a way to disable vibration as a remote ( did not see it in settings of the tv app ) to save battery life?
After discussion with htc directly this is not possible to turn off vibration as a remote control
