View 7 RepliesI have searched for this but didn't really find a clear answer. I am running BB Froyo 0.4---can themes be installed over other themes? IE- can I install blue energy over Xtheme? Is there a way to revert back to the generic BB with no theme or do I need to restore a backup to accomplish this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently Running Fresh 3.2 w/ Manup's rEVOlution's Theme for Sense.
In Flipz log it says users using 3.2 can upgrade to 3.3. with out a data wipe.
I of course am going to do a nandroid backup just in case but I am new to ROM's and Theming will flashing to Fresh 3.3 ROM over the 3.2 ROM Keep all my current Settings and What not? Also will it keep the Theme Intact?
Or will I need to re-install all the apps using Titanium Backup and re-set up all the accounts n crap again then re-install Manup's Theme?
I'm running the latest version of Cyanogen Mod on my evo and LOVEit! However, I have yet to be able to install a theme on my phone. I was under the impression that it was just like flashing a ROM to my phone and that I could even use ROM Manager to do so, but I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. Here's a current screenshot of my main home screen: Basically, all I want to do is to be able to turn the notification bar black. I'd like for all the menus and popups and whatever else to be black as well, but I would settle for just the notification bar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am rooted using baked snacks Ker#5...I have been seeing themes in the screenie thread and wondering how you do this.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor Style and Thems defination, CSS is considered to be a better standard...(as it has seen many revisions and widely used already in the web areas).. Any reason, why Android using XML approach as opposed to CSS.. Are there any plans of support of CSS too in future..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to enable different themes in my app. Some elements need "special" variations, like, for example, a headline TextView. Lets say for the example, in theme A, I want the headline yellow on black, in theme B red on white, while the default TextView uses black on white and vice versa.
Now, I can style the default TextView pretty easy by using <item name="android:textViewStyle"> with a different TextView style in each Theme style.
For example:
CODE:............
But how can I do it with the headline? As far as I know, I can use style="..." in the layout XML. But there, I can only use an item style like "headlineForBlack", which would ignore the current theme, while I'd rather need something like "style 'headline' for the current theme".
Are Themes the same as ROMS? If they are, how so, and if they are not, how so.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just rooted got the cyanogen mod 5.05 and was wondering if I can apply the Nextheme. I want it but it says only in Sprecovery? Can I or not?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have seen the Nextheme and am currently using the Revolution theme. Are there any other out there. Ive seen some for the Droid 1 on other forums just didn't know if they worked for the X or not.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone recommend a good theme? I'm running bugless beat 0.4 but don't mind switching roms around. Every theme I have found has little to no change. I'm looking for something to blow me away LOL

View 1 Replies View RelatedGot my HTC Hero on Orange 2 days ago, also updated it to android 2.1
Now the problem is that I was browsing the android store and saw a theme I wanted. I downloaded it and everything but I don't know how to set it as a theme, just need help with that. Thanks to anyone that replies.
I have a image view and I want to show different images based on the current theme. I want to do this using the XML only. Via code it can be done .....but then that is not a elegant solution. On the same lines, can we add our own attributes to the theme (theme that i created)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need some. Google isn't proving too useful, as I just get the same three or four themes over and over again.
Who wants to list some?
Is there any way to mix themes?
I used the 928 black glass theme because it included the deodex, but i didn't like how it looked. I later upgraded to nextheme, then revolution.
However, it seems there are still some remnants of 928 on my droid (e.g. the universal inbox still looks like 928 with the blue reload symbol).
I would like to get rid of that (go back to the stock universal inbox) and I would like to get the colorful icons for the settings list that was in Nextheme but not in Revolution.
I sense that this might be a really stupid question. However, I tried to search the forum and looking into the themes thread which has 50ish pages....
I only found out that home switcher could be the answer but it only works for 2.1 or below.
Now, whenever I wanna switch my themes, I hit home button. It will jump out a screen showing all the themes I've installed such as ADW and launcherpro. I don't dare to set launcherpro as default, otherwise I might not be able to switch back to sense.
Does anyone know how to switch between them? My phone is not rooted.
Can someone please teach me how to install a theme? I've spent hours trying to figure it out but with no luck.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently a Pre owner and new to Android Forums, and really loving the specs on this phone. One thing I really loved about the Pre was able to customize the phone with different themes, putting homebrew apps on the phone, and really patching it to fit my needs.
My questions is Will the EVO have these options that I can do to this phone as I could with the Pre? I really do not know much about Android or the HTC.
I just changed my themes on my HTC & now my phone wont work. Keep getting error 'The application HTC Sense (process.com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close. I have turned it on & off, took the battery out, took the sim card out but still get the same error & now can't use my phone, any ideas guys what to do
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to load new themes/styles from the web to replace the current ones. Is that possible? As far as I can see those resources are read-only.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have about 300 hours of reading in and I am still sitting with a Droid X, 2.2 OTA and no root. I know how to root with rootmyx2 1-click method, not an issue. Was rooted before 2.2 and didn't want any leaked versions.
I have every tool that I would ever need. Root Explorer, Titanium BU, ROM Manager and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap.
But I can't get a straight answer for what ROM's I can install with the 2.2 OTA and which ones deodex for me. I know the 928DroidBlackGlassX-DroidX-OTA2315-DeOdexEERR-THEME will deodex for you but from what I read you have to have a ROM first. So confused.
I read FlyX has been put on the 2.2 w/out deodex and others say you need it first.
I'm just looking for the easiest step-by-step instructions to get set up for themes on a DX 2.2 Official 2.2 OTA.
there's one app who is a big offender here I think anyone who uses it will know which one I mean its in the top paid apps - all the skins appear in the app drawer. And yet I can sort of understand why he's done it because you have a choice of either including these lines in AndroidManifest.xml or not.If you do, app can be launched and is in app drawer. If you don't, app can't be launched and is not in app drawer. What would be most useful is the inbetween, i.e. app can be launched and is not in app drawer. I've played around with all variations in xml file and nothing achieves this behavior.Publishers want skin packs to be launchable, so that when people download them wondering what they are, they can include some info directing you to a website or better still, straight to the main product in the market. But its inconsiderate to customers to fill up their app drawers with stuff that is just skin packs / themes. I don't think there is a solution to this, but I think its an issue that Android need to address.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have never rooted before and I am about to give it a whirl. I am not worried about the consequences really, I feel pretty confident I can follow directions. My only issue is, after browsing these forums I am completely lost on what rom to use! I see some people saying beast and various other custom roms, then I see some saying "vanilla" Froyo is the way to go.
1) What rom SHOULD a first timer use?
2) Where do you find it?
3) What is the most newb friendly rom loader?
4) Can I use any of these custom themes I see with any custom rom or do I need the "vanilla"?
5) Does WiFi work in all of the Froyo roms now?
6) Are there a list of known issues with specific custom roms available or even "vanilla" froyo?
7) Will my purchased apps that are updated to work in 2.2 work?
