But my internal memory has been steadily going down. I have cleared out browser cache, cookies, form data and any thing I could shut off or eliminate. I still only have 17 mb. Of memory left. We were comparing the people in the bar to the people in the photos and we found some hilarious matches. Anyway, that was last Thursday. Now I see that the pictures that were pulled up on my phone are now easily viewable by merely trying to attach a picture to a text message or an email. Basically, if anyone looks at my phone and tries to see my pictures or something they will see these stupid pictures. The phone says these pictures are saved in the SD Card Cache. How can I clear this cache? I've unmounted the card, twice. No go. I've uninstalled the horrible program (it was free and you get what you pay for, I guess). I needs me some help! I've been perusing the interwebs looking for help and this forum seemed like the most active place right now.

The technical feasibility of this is not my question; but rather its practicality:
This obviously involves taking out the SD memory card in the handset and replacing it with one with no on-board memory, leaving the device with only the builtin 256mb or whatever. this is plenty for my app, but I'm concerned that, aside from annoying the user by having all their music removed, there will be apps on the users device that save data to the SD and will be broken by removing the SD memory.
I have no idea whats going on with my EVO but my memory card keeps getting corrupted.
It started when I was trying to "hide" some pictures using Photovault. All the sudden it couldn't hide or see my already hidden photos'. All of my porn was like totally gone! Seriously though, it corrupted all my phones pictures. Thinking it was the Photovault app, I uninstalled and went to reinstall. Well installer cant see any of the app apk files I have on my mem card.
Then I noticed my MP3's were corrupted, all the sudden it reports there a format the phone cant use and I notice files are just plain missing when I view folders with Astro.
I hooked my EVO to the PC and it wanted me to run check disk on the phone/mem card so I did. This hung causing me to have to hard reboot the phone.
All my data was now gone and Windows 7 reports I need to format this device blah blah blah. I tried to format from within Windows 7, no go. So I formatted from within the phone.
I copied a backup of my memory card I had back to the memory card and all seemed fine.
Hour later I'm right back where I was before, shits getting corrupted again. I again formatted from within the phone but did not copy over my backup as I was at work when this happened.
I fired up Astro though and I see still most of my files even thought I formatted from within the phone.
I didn't want to do the OTA update thingy for fear of loosing root. You know the one that was for the mem card issues. I thought formatting it was all I really needed to do. Maybe not?
Right now I'm doing a full format of the memory card out of the phone and attached to a Sandisk micro usb reader/writer.
So I just got me a G1 earlier this week but my question is this. Even though their website says the max size card you can put in is 8GB I have seen somewhere you can put one in a little bigger, so there for I am wondering what is the biggest memory card that can be put in this thing? I currently use a 2GB one that I had in my former nokia 5310.

The problem I have is that there is an 8GB memory card with 2.2 gb free and yet it keeps telling me the memory is low (17.31mb on the internal phone storage) and yet it is only giving me the option to uninstall things,. I have bought a new memory card, Lexar 8GB, however when I put it in my phone and take out the original 4GB one there is a sign in the top left corner with a pic of the card with a '?' next to it. I'm not very good with technology either. I have downloaded the software online and tried to sync it but nothing seems to work. What do I have to do so I can use my 8GB one?
