Dec 4, 2009I'm trying to transfer a 5gb file onto my Eris. The SD card is mounted, and it shows that 7gb is free. I am able to copy over a 1gb file to and from, but when I try the 5gb file, I receive the following message:The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new disk to continue. Retry Cancel.If I click Retry, I get the following:
Cannot copy (filename): there is not enough free disk space. What's the deal? Anyone know how to get this to work?

Nov 11, 2010I picked up my Droid 2 this past Saturday, and immediately ordered a 16GB Transcend Class 6 micro SD card for it. To install it, I plugged my Droid into my PC (Linux machine), un-hid all the hidden files, copied them to my desktop, then disconnected the Droid, took the stock card out, plugged the new card in, and copied the files back. After a reboot of the Droid, everything seemed OK.The problems started while copying songs onto the Droid. The copy process froze, and ever since, the phone had problems with this card. It's sluggish, and hangs on shut-down.Is there a proper way to upgrade to a new card that I don't know about? The guys at the Verizon store didn't have any ideas.

Aug 16, 2010I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

For example- I work in music, and people frequently call or text asking for the phone numbers of cellists and violinists I know so they can hire them for recording sessions. "Sure," I reply, "I'll text the numbers to you." Then, I have to look up the numbers in my People app, write them down on a piece of paper (or on a notepad on my computer), and then write the names and numbers into a text message. That works for home, but when I'm on the road it really screws the process. Can I start the text message and then import the names and numbers as text? I really want to be able to add more than contact to the text message (I'm not talking about recipients here, I mean sending a text that is a list of names and phone numbers).

Feb 8, 2010Everything works great other than the touchpad function. When I try to move the mouse it just doesn't move! When I use the trackball to move up and down my internet browser scrolls up and down the page and when I click it will click on links so that's all good. It's just the mouse won't move. I have a USB mouse attached to my PC and I have followed all of the FAQ's on the gMote website. It only seems to work in debug mode. Any answers to why that might be? I can't figure out what she's doing to achieve this in such a short space of time (is there a 'return to factory defaults' setting?) or how to stop it, while still letting her use apps on the phone.

Phone: HTC Incredible still ten days from my hands.
Microittybitty SD card: came in today's mail.
Computer OS: Vista
Music: On iTunes.
Downloaded: doubleTwist
My general media skills: Sucky.
Ok, here goes. So I have this fear that I won't be able to get all my lovely music from my computer to my Incredible. This is not an irrational fear, as I am notoriously bad with any kind of file management. And device management. And getting devices to talk nicely to each other.
(You may heckle me all you want. Yes, I am in over my head here. This will be an adventure.)
If I could figure out how to copy my music files to my SD card, could I then just put the card in the phone and have the stock music player recognize them and all that? Or would I end up down some dead-end street by myself in the middle of the night, drunk and dazed?
I want the music to go to the SD card anyway, whether I wait for the phone to get here or not. I'm just trying to skip a step. Will it work?

Mar 26, 2010Interesting article comparing not-our-phone to an iPhone. That in itself is an interesting comparison. What I found most interesting was the layout of the components. Not sure if it's identical in our phones as it is in the Nexus One, but it was pretty cool to see.

The icon I want to use is actually a bookmark icon for ING Direct (it is a small, orange circle). The only way I can get it to work is if I modify the settings to "swype up" for application launch. Unfortunately, if I press the icon I am taken to the ING direct website. Is there a way to pull the icon out of my phone somehow in order to use it as a 'custom icon'?
