Jul 3, 2010Recently my music player has stopped updating what music I have/don't have on my memory stick. I deleted a few albums off my memory stick and added a couple, and it still shows the old album, (unable to play, says 'audio player does not support files of this type' or something like that) and it doesn't show the new music I put on there. I've restarted my device about 4 times, tried closing/reopening the music app.. I don't know what to do to clear this up. I'm running 2.1 (via WhiteWidow/Root if that matters) and music has never given me a problem before. The other music apps have the same problem, none of them seem to refresh.

As a test, I put an mp3 onto my phone, ensuring the album art was in the id (using mediamonkey). However, the art did not appear when playing the song. Any suggestions on how to get album art to work? Or if I'm doing something wrong?

Apr 8, 2010After installing 2.1v2, all my music became disorganized. My albums are all out of whack and the album art sometimes becomes assigned to the wrong song. I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem with my files because everything worked nicely on 1.5. Is anyone else experiencing this bug? Any fixes?

Jan 29, 2010I ripped my songs off cd's using windows media player, and I was just wondering why every song now plays on a loop. If I go into the music player and select by album or by artist and hit play, it just plays the one song on a loop-never advancing. I tried "play all" but it doesn't work.What im wondering is; What is the proper way to import songs? I either dragged whole albums, or selected multiple ones from my computer and dropped them into the music folder of the eris and it still plays only one song at a time. Of course I can hit the next arrow and it advances but it never does it on its own. What am I doing wrong?

Apr 4, 2010I have a Samsung Galaxy I7500 using android 1.5. I extended my phone with a 16GB microSD. I copied a big music collection (around 800 files) into a folder on this SD. Now the problem is that the music player can't find all the files.
I know that there are several threads about android not finding music. The answers are usually that the library hasn't yet been updated or that the ID3 tags are not correct.
I have checked both.
Btw. I can play the files using ASTRO.
In my opinion it seems as if android can't build up a library with too many entries. If I rename the files or put them into different folders, songs disappear and reappear quite randomly.
Do you have any solutions? Is there a music player which doesn't use the native music players index of files?
HTC Droid Eris :: Music Player Starts While Phone Is Sleeping
Oct 8, 2010While my phone is in the locked/sleep mode, occasionally the music player starts up. I'm guessing I somehow push a button to start it - but can't seem to make it happen when I try. And - I don't realize it is playing until I unlock my phone, and see the music title scrolling across the screen.

Feb 24, 2010I am using windows 7 so the htc sync does not work. I know that there is a workaround for this but I am able to connect Eris through usb and then tap on mount SD card and then drag and drop music files from my pc to my Eris. The problem is that the Eris music app does not show any of the album art. The art is in the files so I don't know why it won't show. I created a folder called music and in that folder is a folder for each artist which contains folders for each album. The art is in each album folder. I tried Mixzing media player for a while and some of the album art appeared but maybe only 25%. I like the stock app if it would just show the album art.

Feb 7, 2010When listening to music via the music player through headphones, any movement of the headphone input in the headphone jack causes tracks to FF it seems. i.e. If you spin the cord while in the jack, or even if you just push it in farther to see if it is fully seated tracks will FF. I have narrowed my problem down to this happening whenever I get into my truck - and that it has to do with the Ford Sync. Apr 8, 2010I'm looking to root my Eris with 2.1 tonight but I have a couple questions that I haven't found a definitive answer for. Hopefully someone can answer them for me.
1. Does Exchange mail work with any of these 2.1 ROMs? I think I remember reading that it wasn't working with some of them. This is pretty much a deal breaker for me, so if it doesn't work, I will probably wait.
2. Does the HTC Music player work with these 2.1 ROMs? If not, is there at least a music player that can still be used on the lock screen? I like that I don't have to swipe on the lock screen to navigate to the next track.
3. Will Live Wallpapers ever be usable with Sense or is there some inherent incompatibility? Are they not available on the official 2.1 with Sense enabled?

May 13, 2010I'm so fed up...
I open the music player to start playing music and it starts frantically skipping through songs and going crazy. I restart and it still happens.
This also happens with podcasts in google listen. I'll be listening and all of a sudden it'll switch to another podcast.
I can't figure out why this is happening. On maybe the same note. i restarted and had the same music player issue, then went to Taskiller Free and found that all my apps were running...???? This is 2 min after a restart.
What's going on here. I'm on stock Eris, no rooting.
Motorola Droid :: Music Using Music Player
Jun 20, 2010Ok non-rooted droid. Using the stock media player it will not let me play a certain folder that I downloaded. I can not figure out why it will not play any of the songs on in that certain folder. I downloaded the whole disc set of a certain artist and this is the only folder that does it. I checked and every song is 317 kbps MP3 format. I have some music that I downloaded using iMusic and it is 320 kbps MP3 format, so I have deducted the bitrate as being the issue.

Nov 30, 2009I want to add my gmail settings to the native mail app and use that for gmail instead of using the gmail app. I dont like how you cant attach a file other than a photo using the gmail app and I like the layout of the native mail app.If you add your gmail account to the native mail app can you still receive push email? I plan on disabling the sync settings for google in the main settings but that shouldn't affect an account added to the main mail app.

Aug 16, 2010I downloaded a few episodes of my favorite series (futurama whoop whoop whoop) off of Megaupload.com to watch on the go. Now, the native player won't play .avi files, which is an annoying inconvenience for such an advanced device, but easily averted with a trip to the market. I personally use rockplayer to play these.
But now in an effort to get what little use the hdmi out offers I want to get them to play on the native player to be able to project them on my television.
Is there a way to play .avi or other formats on the evos native player? or a way to convert them?
