Is there a quick and easy way to create app menu bars like the ones at the top of the Google+ and Google Reader apps??? Basically, I'm speaking of the bar at the very top that contains the app title/logo and a few buttons to the right.
Is there a standard way of doing this like when editing the Action Bar in Honeycomb, or is this simply a RelativeLayout?

Are there any built in java apis in android to access google reader, if not, what do you think is the best approach to implementing this.
I've googled a bit on this and I have some ideas on how to implement this, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if there already is a working solution available.
I've had (unsolved) problems before signing in to sites using stock browser, but now i can't log in to the google reader mobile webpage! google.com shows i am logged in, and if i use the drop down to access Gmail, that works...but if i use the dropdown for Reader, it gets in a permanent loop of asking me to log in - even though i already am logged in to my google account in stock browser. i've cleared cache - what else do i do? it was working up until yesterday afternoon...i woke up this morning and i can't log in. i don't have any problems logging in using Opera - but i hate Opera so much!

View 8 Replies View RelatedI currently use Slidescreen as a glorified Google Reader app (i.e. turned off the facebook, twitter and stocks parts), because it presents the feeds beautifully in light grey text on a black background, which not only looks cool, but it saves on battery life on my Desire's AMOLED screen. Letting me swipe away feeds without clicking through (when I can see from the headline that I don't need to) is nice too.The downside is that Slidescreen seems to eat up quite a lot of power and battery, and there is no convenient way to refresh feeds (you either have it autocheck regularly, eating lots more power, or you have to click the menu button, then "home settings", then scroll down to "google reader", then "reload group" - hardly a simple process to do regularly).
Another nice thing that Slidescreen does is let you choose which Reader folders it syncs with, so it can just present you with feeds more suited to reading on a phone.Are there any other Google Reader apps (that use less cpu/battery than Slidescreen, otherwise I might as well stick with Slidescreen), but also offer white/grey text on a black background, and let you choose which of the feeds it syncs with?I've got Greed2, which is a very nice app, but it doesn't have either of the above features.
I love the new feature in Listen that allows it to sync with Reader to manage podcast subscriptions...or at least I love the idea of it. Since updating Listen and using it for many days now, I have seen nothing regarding my podcast subscriptions popping up in my Reader account. How can I fix this? Is there something I'm missing?

this Android code worked fine before, but i'm having problems for some reason. here is the request i'm trying to make: https://www.google.com/reader/api/0/token. i'm getting 400:Bad Request as a response, and i'm not sure why. isn't this the correct URL for requesting a token? the auth token is being passed as a header in all requests now, and i can request feed list, and it works just fine, so there's nothing wrong with the auth code. what gives? in addition, i can request a token in a normal browser, like Chrome, and get a token as a response body. so the request itself is not the problem. i just can't figure out what is wrong with my requests in code...

I have a Google Calendar account that I log into with my yahoo email address. On this calendar I also can view my calendars of other family members.The problem I am having is that I had to create a google account when I bought the phone. I'm not sure who the attorneys for Verizon are, but Google must have done some deft negotiations to be able to pull this off. They just shafted Motorala, Verizon - and us - in the butt. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the latest version of Google Maps on JB 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]..I noticed that I cannot edit the names of my locations in "My Places" in the phone app. So I used Google Bookmarks (google.com/bookmarks) from my PC to edit/rename My Places. However, the names do not sync or carry through to the Google Maps app on the phone. The names in the app are still the generic names, coordinates or street names.
Is there any way to change the names of My Places and get them to sync with the phone app? Really baffling!
I have searched around for an answer to these two issues, but haven't been able to find anything. After doing the manual upgrade to 2.1 OTA, most everything is fine. However, Google Voice and Google Listen are having issues. Google Voice is giving me a Force Close message every time I receive a text message in Hand cent SMS (to my non-GV number). I don't actually use GV on my voice all that often. Google Listen seems to have lost all trace of any of my pod casts, including new ones that have come in since the update. Every episode on every pod cast has, just under the title: "Error (sd card/com.goggle.android.apps.listen/downloads/e55bee71)" The string of letters and numbers on each one is different. I used Astor File Manager to look in this folder and each of those files is not there. Some of these folders were downloaded a month ago (I'm a little slow in getting to some pod casts) and some I have listened to already pre update but still getting the error now. Some that I have listened to are not giving the error. And any that were downloaded after the update are giving the error.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA few months ago Google sent top market developers a feww phone (Droid or Nexus).I was one of them and received a Droid.I just now called in to activate the Droid on my Verizon account and was told that it is not activated.They said that the ESN number is tied to a business account and currently active.Verizon said the only thing I can do is to contact Google, who sent me the phone, and work it out with them.The paperwork with the phone came with no numbers or email addresses.I have tried calling the Nexus support line, they could not direct me anywhere. I have tried emailing the automated robots that sent me emails about the phone.Is there anyone at Google that I can contact that would be able to help with this?
