View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is probably the easiest and quickest method to ROOT your Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0/ Karbonn S1 Titanium.
STEPS:
1. Download ZIP File for rooting in the attachments below
2. Connect your device to a pc and copy and paste the ZIP file you just downloaded to the external card on the device. (it really does not matter if your phone is in USB debugging mode or not.)
3. Disconnect the device from the PC safely and turn it off.
4. Hold the volume up key+ power button at the same time until a green screen appears. (this is the fastboot mode) Keep holding until screen turns red (recovery mode) and release to enter stock recovery.
5. Navigate using hardware buttons (power to confirm selections) and wipe cache partition and factory reset data.
6. select "apply update from external SD card" and navigate to where you pasted the ZIP file for rooting.
7. Confirm the ZIP file selection and wait for the process to finish.
8. Reboot the device.
Your phone should now be rooted. the super user app should now be visible in the app drawer of the device.
So I really want to upgrade my Rogers Samsung Galaxy Note II (SGH-i317M) to JB 4.3. I currently have JB 4.1.2. BUT, I'm currently rooted. I have used Framaroot to root my device and it's worked! When I get 4.3, I don't care if I have my data or not or if I'm rooted or not... Can I update through Kies? Will it brick?!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if it is possible to upgrade/downgrade an android phone (samsung mostly) with official firmwares without the need to root? The reason is that some testing is needed on these devices and only with official firmwares it would be valid. And at will it would be nice to be able to switch versions for different test purposes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used DroidMod to root when I had 2.01. When 2.1 became available, I "un-rooted" then forced update to 2.1. Well to be honest, it is really slow and laggy. I now want to go back to DroidMod, but nothing I have tried seems to work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my "dinc" in early August with 2.1 onboard and recieved the OTA froyo upgrade about two weeks ago. I like 2.2 (I think) but not all the battery-vampire crap-apps that came with it. I desparately want to root so that I can explore the full potential of this phone and hopefully find some options to extend my battery and get rid of the bloatware.
Unrevoked's website says v3.2 has been temporarily pulled and to use v2.2 "in the meantime". I've tried several of the methods that call for 3.2 using 2.2 and it seems to work up to the reboot step towards the end. Each time I get this "failed to flash recovery image" message. I've followed every detail of several videos and posts (including one from this forum) instructing how to root with Unrevoked, but the end result is always the same.
1. Can I use Unrevoked to root my phone with the froyo upgrade in place?
2. If so, how? Because what I've been trying ain't gettin' it done.
3. If not, is there a way to roll-back to 2.1 so that I can use Unrevoked?
4. Could the 2.2 version of Unrevoked be casuing my "failed flash" issue?
I have bought the Karbonn ST8 a few days back. While doing a Factory reset I have lost some application. One of which I use a lot, it was EReader. Now I am unable to get the apk for this software. This was custom made by Karbonn folks so I can not get it in Google Play store.

I have a Karbonn A6 phone given to me by my friend because it was locked. It's asking for gmail user/pass but he doesn't have it. I tried to boot into recovery mode using Power+Volume Up button but all I get is a white triangle with an exclamation mark in it. I can't seem to go beyond that. USB debugging was perhaps not enabled unless it was enabled by default. There is no camera button, only power and Volume Up/Down. What do I do?
I just need to get this phone working somehow. Is there a way to use a computer and a USB cable to get it running?
I have rooted my Wife's Karbonn S1 Titanium via Framaroot - Gandalf method. It was easy and 100% Rooted.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to decide about either keeping my current HTC Hero (Firmware Version 1.5) or switching to the iPHONE. On the iPHONE, I am trying to figure out if I want the new iTOUCH or the new iPHONE. The problem is, the decision is dependent on my HTC Hero.I like the Hero, but it just feels like something is "Lacking" or "Missing." But I can't explain it.I have read on these forums here and there about how people have rooted there phone and how amazing it works and is compared to the official firmware out there.I don't know much about rooting when it comes to Android. The closest thing I can think of that might be similar in nature is when I had a jailbroken iPOD TOUCH.So now I am trying to figure out, to make my current HTC Hero "Better" or check it out the way it was meant to be, do I root it, or do I officially upgrade to 2.1?If you happen to recommend rooting, I am hoping there is a simple way of doing it. If I am not mistaken, I believe there are multiple version to root to, so which one do I use and how do I go about rooting to it?
