View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an lg c800 -- mytouch q by lg
I rooted it yesterday and removed all the bloat. I also installed several root only apps to optimize the phone. It ran smoother than even right out of the box.
So, I figured it be a good idea to backup the rom, and maybe later try cyanogenmod... So I installed Rom Manager by clockworkmod
It said i needed to install clockwork recovery rom. I went in there but it said my device was unsupported (only like 12 were) so I backed out, and stupidly hit TWRP listed under "Recovery Already Installed". (thinking that meant what options I had to SETUP a recovery/backup)
I hit backup rom. almost instantly the phone restarted. After the bios, but before android it went to a screen with a box, and an arrow pointing from the inside of the box to the little android man. Then went to the regular android boot screen. It does this every reboot now. The SuperSU is still there, whenever Rom Manager (which I have to reinstall each reboot) asks for root access I get that dialog box, so it hasn't actually hard reset the phone I don't think. But all the user data, contacts, apps, wifi passwords, google id "(to access Play) get wiped out.
I understand what I did wrong. I think I understand what its doing (booting to the factory rom as it was, and I can't set it to stop doing it each reboot)
what I had previously, among other things, I had a bunch of tasker profiles and notes that will be time consuming to replace.
EDIT: SuperSU is now listed among the factory installed apps. This is unchanged each reboot.
Question: If I unroot the phone what that invalidate Rom Managers ability to run before android boots?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to give a hard reset to LG Optimus Sol which was initially blocked Vodafone and I unlocked it at a service to work with all networks. If I hard reset the phone will become locked again in Vodafone? I want to do this because the phone does not connect in data storage mode and the bluetooth does not work.
You can tell me if I hard reset will install all the default programs on the phone they had originally? Or is another possibility to reinstall the factory software without being locked again in vodafone? I searched the forums but some said that the phone will be locked again and others say that will remain unlocked.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS TF700KL tablet that I'm trying to fix a firmware update on. The only firmware update available for this model can be downloaded from the ASUS webpage - you can't get it from the settings menu.
The unzipped file is a .raw file, so the only way I can get the tablet to update the firmware using this file is if I put it on the external SD card and make a hard reset launching from the SD card. However, for some weird reason the tablet can't see the SD card when in the boot mode. The SD is clearly visible and accessible when using the tablet.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have about 7 Razr XT912's that will not make a call. I proceed to call "611" and then press the "call" button and the phone just sits at the dial screen and does not call. The phones are all receiving perfect signal and sim cards are in the phones. After letting the phone sit for about 10-15 minutes on the call screen I noticed one of the phones would randomly make the call. This does not happen to all of them.
I also noticed that the phones would not hard reset from the setting menu. It would act like it was loading for a hard reset then would just disappear. I would have to manually go to the recovery menu using the power/volume buttons. Hard resetting does not fix the issue. They are all at version 4.0.4 and are all doing the same thing. One of my extra XT912 is at 2.3.6 and has no problems. Could it be the 4.0.4 software??
Acer Iconia Tab A200.
Alright, so here's what's going on. Recently, something happened and the tablet asked to do a hard factory reset. It stopped at a screen that terminated in red text "Verified Failed". It is a stock device. The only thing different is that it was running Nova Launcher. No rooting, nothing else. Nearly all of the posts I have found assume that some level of rooting has occurred, and the rest are unresolved. I have nothing, not even any tools, because almost all of the links to tool downloads terminate in dead dropbox links or uncomfortably sketchy download sites.
I have a ZTE/SFR Staraddict and it is locked to the google account request and i can't access to the menu. How can i do to reset it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine has a Droid Incredible 2 (ADR 6350). Over the past few days it has been downloading some random photo every 15 minutes, saving a new version in her Gallery each time. She installed anti-virus software and it found nothing, then she uninstalled suspect apps (she doesn't have many on the phone)-- did nothing. Then (and this is the part that really confuses me), she did a factory reset and wiped everything but the SD card. Sure enough, it kept downloading the random photo every 15 minutes once it was setup again (and with no non-core apps re-installed). It is some photo for a flooding house, she has no idea what it is from. A
BTW, it does stop when she puts the phone in airplane mode and kills the data connection.
Acer Liquid E hard reset

I currently have a problem with my Sky Vega phone. I was updating it while it was connected to my PC but unfortunately the update did not finish properly.
Now it is stuck at "Upgrading Software". I have tried the "Volume Down + Power Button" trick and other variants but I can't seem to access recovery mode / download mode. It keeps booting at "Upgrading Software". I also tried removing and uninstalling the battery.
Additionally, now my PC doesn't even seem to detect it! So I am really currently at a loss of what I am supposed to do and how to fix my phone properly.
This may be a silly question... but I was just wondering. Is a hard reset is a battery pull and is a soft reset a "alt +right shift+delete" ?
View 12 Replies View RelatedLong time Droid user, brand new to the Fascinate Forum. I just bought my wife a Samsung Fascinate and I have to say the thing is absolutely phenomenal! It makes my Motorola Droid look like a 1990's flip phone!! Except for one problem the darned thing has been automatically spontaneously performing a factory reset / hard reset on itself. And it is happening at completely random times. You're sitting there playing a game, you're reading your e-mail or you just pushed the screen ON / power button to wake the phone up and unlock it and then, all of a sudden The phone reboots to the black and white Samsung startup screen, then recovery pops up and yellow writing appears that says "Formatting FOTA:", "Formatting DATA:", "Formatting CACHE:". Then the phone reboots again and comes up like you just pulled it out of the box; a full factory reset / hard reset. The contents of the SD card are thankfully fine.Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to turn on some sort of logging so that maybe I can figure out what causes it? This is now the second phone that this is happening to. We took the first phone back to Verizon the very same day we got it and they swapped it out right there for another brand new one. The second phone behaved perfectly for three whole days before it went and wiped itself. We thought for sure that the problem was with the first phone, but now it is happening with the second phone.I am going to start from scratch again, adding one app at a time making sure the thing continues to work. But there weren't any apps on the device in the first place that were really out of the ordinary.- Gmail POP3 Yahoo- Corporate E-Mail to Microsoft Exchange Server (No, it wasn't the Exchange Admin sending a kill package, I'm the Exchange Admin)
- Angry Birds
- Robodefense
- Facebook
- Beautiful Widgets
- Cal Widget
- Google Maps
- Pandora
I have all of those apps and more on my Motorola Droid (also connected to the same Exchange Server) and my device is behaving just fine.I'm trying to think of reasons this might happen and I'm drawing a complete blank.
Sprint is suggesting a hard reset of my HTC EVO because of a problem I'm having. Can't download pictures that are sent to me via text. Texts themselves come through okay...but the photos do not. Anyway, this particular problem isn't the bottom line issue. It's about the bigger question of whether to start all over or just live with given problems as they come up. The longer I have this device (any Android device I'm guessing), the more inevitable it seems that I'll have to do it sometime. Perhaps multiple times. One gets exhausted researching fix after fix after fix after fix. It seems to me that it will take me a long, long time to get my device back to the way I want it; if I wipe it. Got it June 4th and it seems like I've constantly been tweaking; adding apps, configuring, and such. On the other hand, maybe I'm overestimating what it'll take to get things put back together? What are others' experiences with the reality of a hard reset? Is it as big a nightmare as I fear/suspect?
