General :: Galaxy S3 - Heavy Stutters With Every Rom And Kernel
Mar 18, 2013So my Galaxy s3 all of a sudden started to have stutters, i have a custom rom Foxhound 2.3, and when i try any custom kernel it lags as hell. (Stock also gives stutters so its not kernel related i think)
For example perseus stutters my phone in app drawer and every time i open an application.
Syah 1.8.9. although its better, still have some stutters...
the only one that can have the phone more stable is the stock one. I dont really mind having the stock kernel its just that it makes the phone more stable but it still stutters when opening apps and in the app drawer.
Its weird because in applications i have no problems, and when im playing games is all good to.. even the more heavy intensive ones. Also my boot and shutdown animation stutter or jitters a little bit.. a thing that dint happened.
Also the benchmarks are good as always +/- 16000 on antutu, no changes... so i don't really understand whats happening...
Steps so far:
-Tested other custom roms including CM10.1 Nightly
-Tested various kernel.
-Flashed stock rom with odin
Every time with megawipe. always...

May 4, 2009I want to playback youtube videos on android. I came to know (from the below mentioned link) that adobe demostrated flash player for android, but they haven't released the code yet. Is there an alternative way to playback youtube video's on android? Is there an application that supports flash content playback on android already (though I couldn't find any on "android market" or related sites) or any development work is underway?

Mar 3, 2010I moved from the iphone to the hero and so far things have been great. Now to my question. On my iphone I had jailbroke it and was able to get an app to fool the phone into thinking it was on wifi when using the network data. This resulted in high quality youtube playback like when in wifi at home. Is there an app or a way to get the same thing on the android OS? Been looking around and have yet to find something. On another note. I have two gmail accounts set up on my hero and only get the proper push with one of them. Is this common?

Jun 29, 2010I wanted so show a friend the new Lady Gaga video on my evo. However I noticed it wasn't available for mobile playback as well as a number of other videos. Here is a very simple solution.
Step 1 - You need firefox (if your still on ie, you should switch to firefox anyway)
Step 2 - Install Easy YouTube Video Downloader HERE
Step 3 - Once installed, load up your favorite music on youtube such as Alejandro!
Step 4 - You will now see a new set of links below the video as shown below
Step 5 - Click MP4 and it will instantly start downloading without doing anything else. I have tried the other formats and have found mp4 to be the best for the evo.
Step 6 - Once the video is down downloading, locate the file, connect your evo with data cable, make sure to select disk drive on the screen, open up the removable drive from my computer, make a folder called Videos, drag the file you downloaded to the folder, close the window and disconnect the cable.
Step 7 - Open up your Videos folder under All Aps, you will now see the video there with a thumbnail and you can now play it offline.
Conclusion - The only reason I did this was because some of the videos I couldn't play back via the YouTube app, but it is nice to have them saved so your not using data not that it really matters but will save on battery and loads instantly. I also tried 720P and couldn't get it to play on the evo but I think the MP4 format looks just fine on the evo (depending on the source of course) and it also doesn't take up very much room. Best part it it's VERY FAST to do this, no re-encoding or doing all this other crap to get it to play. It's plug and play.

Oct 18, 2009Anyone else find the play back have awful quality? especially for a higher end phone like this one. My playback has the lowest quality I have seen in a phone in a long time. Pre had much clearer resolution. Is there a player in the market that helps with higher resolution?

Nov 22, 2010Anyone else getting random reboots while playing youtube/flash? at first i thought it was the youtube app but then it happened in the mobile youtube site, then again through another non-youtube embedded flash video played in a website. it just reboots the phone instantly.
there's no way to replicate this as of yet. sometimes i can play a whole video fine but i would say 5-10% of the time it'll reboot randomly. it doesn't happen when playing a video file with Gallery or Rock Player though.
This is with 3.4.0.1. I don't recall having this issue with the prior versions of Fresh. I've done a complete wipe to fix a battery drain issue and the problem has carried over.
Android :: Game Stutters When Drawing Outside Screen
Apr 25, 2010I have a game built for 480x320 screen resolution. When playing the game on a phone with a higher screen resolution (480 x 800 or 480 x 856) the game automatically stretches to fit the screen which works great. Because of different screen dimensions there is a piece of the screen on the right side (game is in landscape mode) that is black, not used by the game. I want to fill this up with an image, so the whole screen is filled. I only draw that image on screens bigger than 480x320. This all works fine, the image is displayed exactly the way I want to. The only problem is that the game runs less smooth then it used to run. There are small stutters noticeable. When I just draw a rectangle instead of an image the same problem occurs. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?

Motorola Droid X :: Video Playback - Framerate - Jerky Playback
Aug 27, 2010Been struggling with this since receiving my X. Seems like no matter what player I use the playback is jerky. It's very subtle, almost as if the video is dropping a frame or so every second. I've tried the stock player, Astro, Rockplayer, mPlayer, Zimly, Act, and the list goes on and the problem still persists.
I've encoded (using handbrake) with all of the settings suggested on the boards and have tweaked things on my own trying to find the proper setting, but still no luck. The strange and frustrating thing is that the exact same files play just fine on my 1st gen iPod touch (clearly an inferior piece of hardware) and on my wife's incredible. These encodes are of standard def DVDs at average settings (a full movie is about 1.3gb, all h.264 mp4 files.
I was able to improve playback by rebooting the X and then playing the video, but this doesn't seem like an acceptable solution every time I want to watch something. I tend to encode and watch a lot of stuff on my commute to/from work, and I'd really like to replace my touch with the X, but the media capabilities are falling way short. Considering switching to the Inc as I know it's able to play my media properly, but I'd prefer to keep the X for the larger screen size (though the Inc does seem to feel better when using one-handed). I'm on the fence right now, but if the X can't function as expected then it might be going back. Unfortunately I only have until the 1st to return it so I don't think I can hold out and see if 2.2 fixes this issue.
HTC Incredible :: Random Restarts - Lost Contacts - Messages - Random App Data
Jun 16, 2010I've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.

I've tried several things: ensuring the volume is max'd in settings, adapt sound, different movie players (MX Player) etc. Music sounds great! No issues there and plenty of volume/sound. I've downloaded movies from Playstore and also copied movies (all to SD card), again the volume is low while at max... same result w/ Netflix.

Apr 7, 2012-On my laptop (Win 7), add my Android (Galaxy Nexus 4.0.3) as a playback device. My phone is connected to my bookshelf speaker setup that is in the same room but not near my desk. So when I am playing music on my laptop, let it be Pandora or Google music streams, I would like the sound to be played from the phone that is connected to the speakers.
I have looked at two possible approaches:
1) Remote control the phone and use the Google Music app on the android to play the songs. Essentially control the phone from PC. I did not find a suitable app for that one
2)Use the phone as a playback device on the Win 7.
General :: Video Playback Options - 4.4
Mar 3, 2014Whenever I use my browser (Boat Browser or all the others I've tried) to watch videos, I no longer have the option to "Open" or "Download" the file, it just automatically plays in the built in media player.. I want to use MX Player..I used to have the option of what to do with the video, but same thing happening with built in player..I have made sure all defaults were cleared, and I even tried uninstalling the Gallery that is linked with the camera.. No luck.
I'm running 4.3 on my tablet, and still have the option so obviously it is a 4.4 issue, and not a browser issue.

May 25, 2012I am currently using an HTC Sensation (with Snapdragon S3) and with h.264 videos, the limit for my phone is effectively at 1080p h.264 high profile level 5.1 with bit rate less than 10 Mbit/s. On my friend's One X, Tegra 3 can easily play 1080p videos up to 40 Mbit/s, which is very impressive. If the video playback capability of the Snapdragon S4 is on par with Tegra 3? Do you manage to get 40 Mbit/s videos to play on S4?

When i used MonkeyRunner which by default comes with Android SDK, it records the actions only with co-ordinates.

Mar 11, 2013I have been running my xperia U (rooted) on the old gingerbread for sometime now, finally bit the bullet and unrooted it and upgraded to ICS 4.0.4 via SCC. I quite like ICS its smoother and the phone runs faster (although battery life now suffers) the only issue i am having is I cant play videos on my phone; this includes camera video in the gallery and embedded videos on the browser. I have factory reset about 100 times still hasnt worked and have tried installing adobe air, flash etc still nothing. When i click on a video in the gallery for example i try touching the play button but nothing happens, the thumbnail and video still image is fine just there is no response from touching the play button.

Sep 18, 2013With my Pipo M6 Pro tablet i am unable to get some of the movies to play on at a good enough volume.
I've encountered this problem with windows and have had to down sample the audio in the WMPC settings in order to hear the sound at a good level through out the whole film.
What i would need to do in order to get a good loud playback with movies and what movie player would be suggested? I've just purchased the latest MX Player.
The video closes within a minute of watching it for some strange reason.... Does this on every video i watch.
