Everywhere we go her D2 shows more reception bars than my thunderbolt...yesterday we were at the mall and my phone had no bars while she had like three. I took mine to a Verizon store and ask them so they wanted to exchange it with a refurbished one but I told them to just change the Sim card and see if that would do the trick but nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my aunt recently gave me her old HTC Thunderbolt. Ive tried doing a factory reset through settings and also through the volume down/power button but neither worked. Every time i try to do a factory reset it brings me back to the boot loader screen and says ***LOCKED***SECURITY WARNING***. I also tried loading the stock RUU onto the phone but it says *MAIN VERSION IS OLDER and wouldnt accept the RUU I put on the SD card. How I can get this phone to factory reset? Or where I can find a stock RUU that will work? Phones current software: Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich Bootloader screen says:

my Thunderbolt not pass the boot , when booting freezes at startup logo , this happened after trying to flash a ROM , this phone is rooted and bootloader is unlocked , however even though effort was there.

I been having issues with my htc thunderbolt off and on. But it seems the last two days it have been getting more common. My phone has been going black, than restarting. Sometimes it goes black, can't do anything than pops back up. Today I can't get text messages. I can send them, but can't get them. My friend and mom can't send me anything. Should I go to the Verizon store and replace it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI made my first android app, it seems to run on most phones no problem but one phone my bud has he installs the app no problem but the app will not run from the app launcher no matter what when you click the app it just goes to the home screen.
However if you goto google play and click OPEN it runs fine or if you hold HOME and goto recent Apps it opens right up, what could possibly make it not open from the launcher? it only happens on HTC Thunderbolt works fine on 10 other phones so far.
I am looking to upgrade the microSD cards for both my HTC Thunderbolt and my Motorola Xoom. If these two devices could support a sd card that size. I know the wifi xoom I have has been upgraded to jellybean but the thunderbolt is still using gingerbread.

It's very very cool, and I don't know that my Android has an answer to it. I would love to be able to do this on my Android and to use Evi through my bluetooth device. I have FlexT9 from Nuance, but it seems to require that I speak into the phone's microphone, as does Evi.
I have a rooted HTC Thunderbolt running das Bamf (don't remember the version) and a Plantronics Voyager Pro headset (same headset my friend with the Windows phone uses to control his phone).

I would REALLY like to have my Outlook calendar (at minimum) pushed/synchronized to my phone. Is there an app or a way to configure this to work? View 2 Replies View RelatedI moved from Shanghai to an apartment building in Chicago. Internet is included in my new building--just need to provide your own router. I have a Netgear N600 router from a few years ago that I plugged in, and everything fired up properly and looked great. But I noticed that my wifi bars remained gray with no Google Services sync. I have a Nexus 7 and a Nexus 4, both rooted and running CM 10.1.2. The only mod I have on either is LTE enabled on the N4.
I did a factory reset and went through the setup wizard again. I also checked for a firmware update, but there wasn't one available. The reset didn't solve the problem. If I flip my WiFi off on the N4, I immediately connect to T-Mobile 4G data, and all of my Google Services sync. When I turn wifi back on, I reconnect to my router, and my Google Services sync stops. I can force a per-app sync by going into Gmail, Google Voice, etc., but there is no background sync.
I just did a flash of Cyanogenmod9 (Domination) and im getting full bars, but I cant do google searches, or access the gps. Clearly im there is something wrong with my connection. When I look at my settings I see full bars, but beside it it says "No internet connection".... very puzzling. The wifi does work perfectly though.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Optimus Elite and when I first set the phone up with WIFI, the bars were green and everything worked, but then I powered the phone off and the bars turned white and my WIFI status says that I'm connected but nothing (except the browser, Skype and sometimes Youtube) works--they all mostly say "authentication required" or "not connected." I have multiple laptops, have had two iPod Touch devices, and friends' devices work just fine on my internet, but this one won't--the time/date isn't even correct.
I've rebooted the phone about 4 times and each doing different things, like signing in to Youtube with Google account, syncing my Google account, and just trying different things with the WIFI (airplane mode, turning off sleep), and I've restarted my modem and router. I logged in at a restaurant and the time was correct, but I wasn't able to check more than that. I've been searching for a fix for a few days now and nothing has worked at home.
I don't have the phone plan connected so there's nothing that I can do with the 3G connection. It's just really frustrating because I bought two of these phones (one for myself, and one for my girlfriend) and only one phone works, even though we've checked to see if all our settings were exactly the same--which they are.
Edit: Each time I power the phone off the WIFI bars turn white and the internet doesn't work good (like I wrote above). For the amount of time that there is internet (after factory reset) the time is wrong. I forgot to mention this.
Edit 2: I cleared the Google Services Framework data and, after doing that, the WIFI works until I power the phone off and on again. I'll add more information as I try more things.
1. Is it true that HTC will not update the OS? IE it comes with 2.1 but you cannot get 2.2? - if so, why?
2. I have read the bars are low, poor radio - which shocks me at VZW.
on the gsm hero, you can have a maximum of 4 bars of signal, where as on the sprint hero, you can have alot more, 8 i think, is there anyway to get more bars on the gsm hero, like 8 bars?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhile at my house and playing with both the Incredible and X, I noticed that the Incredible had only one bar, while my X had full signal. My first reaction was, "I can't keep a phone that has poor service at my house!"
But after looking into it further, I found that the dbm was almost spot on for both phones. It turns out, it's probably a software issue regarding displaying the bars rather than an actual signal problem. My call quality has been great so far with no issues.
I tested my Evo side by side with a display model at Best Buy that I knew would be in good working order.
My 3G speeds were less than half the speeds of the display, and since this was my second Evo with the exact same problem, the chances of me getting two bad phones with the exact same problem were slim to none. This would mean that I was doing something to screw up the phones. I didn't think of the fact that their display was on WiFi. So just this weekend I tested an Evo at the Sprint store that one of the associates had. Same issue with his phone : 4G is great, then drops down to slow 4G, and suddenly dives into 3G at such a slow speed that it kicks you offline.
Earlier today here in Austin TX, I managed to get my best reading ever for my phone - over 7 Mbps. This was a short lived burst, and two minutes later all signal was completely dead. In order to get signal again i had to restart the phone. This happened twice to me today, even with two restarts. The strange thing is that despite having absolutely no signal what-so-ever, the phone shows a full five bars of 4G.
(^ I have now come to realize that I was looking at the 3G signal bars here. The phone still showed 4G, no rings, but all bars of 3G. Despite this, the online connection dropped. When I posted this thread, I didn't know that my issues were a result of the transition from 4G down to a super slow 3G )
I tried placing a call, and was able to do so, but the quality was poor.
At the time that this happens, I am stationary and no more than a few thousand feet from the tower ( I can actually see it easily - about four blocks away )
I would just guess that the bars being shown were just a freezing error, but i
frequently see a full five or even six bars with rings of 4G, despite speeds of less than 2 Mbps. Apparently, something is screwwy with the way the bars are displayed.
Today is Saturday, so I can understand heavy traffic killing some signal, but why does the phone show full strength, and why does it just completely kill all signal that drastically ?
Sprint has admitted to me that there is a problem with the towers in the Austin area, and even offered to send me a signal booster ( which they now tell me that i will have to buy. )
So - just wondering, is this sort of thing is normal, and if so what causes it ?

This is my second Evo - the first phone also showed fluctuating signal problems, and Sprint had me return it.
My nexus one recently doesn't show the 3g icon next to the bars. I don't believe it lost the 3g signal, as I can see 3 bars in there and when I force 2G it goes to 4bars with the 'E' symbol. It just doesn't seem to get 3g data, i believe. I can call and text, but when I try to access the net it says site not found. Could somebody explain why this is? I have T-Mobile in midtown atlanta.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy eris was having issues (scrolling to the left by itself and not scrolling back, shutting off, force closing everything, etc) so i took it into verizon and even the guy working there got frustrated so he did a factory reset (i think thats what you call it) and once it was FINALLY done he came out and said that my phone still had its problems. Once I learned that verizon no longer has phones like the enV, voyager, etc i just left since mine could still answer phone calls and some stuff on a good day, or so i thought. Once i got home and looked at my phone and it was done loading I noticed there was a triangle above my service bars and my phone has no connection to anything except wi-fi even though it has 2 bars of service. Sorry i'm not very good at explaining, but any help is great. I just want to know how to be able to re-connect it so i can at least make calls or send texts.
