I am looking for a video converter for some avi movies I have on my comp. I use videora now but it doesn't have a hero setting and videos are too large for the hero screen and the sound lags. Does anyone know of a better converter or have all of the video specs so I can input them manually (i tried but it went over my head).

I though Google was about integration, but today I failed to load a video using both the Droid or my PC (usb) to my picasa web page...
I think it is a bit silly that Picasa isn't compatible with Android videos... 3gp files (Is this phone specific?)...
But I can upload to youtube!
Anybody knows of a good converter for these files?
Anyway, sad... Even worst after seeing the Windows Phone 7 preview. Maybe that's going to kick the development a bit.

I'm trying to convert my digital copy of "Justice League Crisis on Two Earths" using AVS Video Converter 7.0. I go to "Browse" to put the file in the "Input File Name" box, I get "Following error occurred while opening files. JusticeLeague PC wmv-file format error." What's going on here?

I emailed myself an audio clip that I recorded on my Dinc earlier, and its of .qcp format... I understand this is pure-voice format, but nothing can play it, and when I tried to convert it I get DRM errors...
Anyone know a quick way of converting it, or a app that can replace the recorder on the Dinc and allow .mp3 or .wav format to record into. Or something along those lines anyways...

I was little bit curious about SDK and simple currency converter is what I came with. If you have some spare time, please test it and let me know what kind of problems did you ran to.
This currency converter updates via European Central Bank server, or it can use manual entries (in test version there is also a "fake file" implemented for users without internet connection in theirs Android)
There are two versions, one for 1.5 (Cupcake) and one for 1.6 (Donut), althougth 1.5 version should run also on 1.6 devices.
Ing. Halmi Rudolf - "profesn" strnka - currency_converter
Below on page there are direct links to both versions, namely for Donut (1.6):

I downloaded Unit Converter, and noticed that the market said it needed no permissions, while the manage apps list on the phone said it needed to modify the sd card and read phone state. Not that this was a huge deal, but why would they be different?
Anyways, how does everyone like that unit converter? It seems like it has everything!!

Any suggestions? Handbrake and Videora won't convert the iTunes M4Vs. alternatively, is there a video player for the Droid that will play iTunes M4Vs?

I'm a new Droid owner, and being a mechanical engineer, I could use a good unit converter app that includes conversion of harness units (Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell, etc.). I've run across quite a few unit conversion apps, but without installing them, I don't know if they include hardness conversions.

I have the Droid by Motorola from Verizon. I'm trying to use a youtube downloader to download youtube videos to my laptop and then convert them to AVI files and drag and drop them to my SD card so that I can view them on my Droid. The problem is the files either don't show up on the card when I attempt to play them on the device if they are in AVI format or if I choose not to change the format only the audio is played by the phone so I can't see any video. Any suggestions? I know this is a possibility because a coworker has done this on a BB Tour. I had him Bluetooth transfer some files and those show and play but the ones I'm attempting to tranfer by dragging and dropping the the files aren't working.

Coming from a BB curve, I am very excited to watch high quality movies on my subway commute everyday. I would like to start converting movies to MP4 tonight to have everything ready to go on Friday, but I need your help. I know there are many posts on this subject, but none specific to the DROID. What is the best free movie converter and at what resolution to do you recommend converting to? While we are on the subject, what is the best video player for the DROID?

I am using the Alcatel OT-918d (stock rom, root access enabled) and while playing videos in the browser, I do not get an action prompt to choose from the available video players and browser plays the video using "default video player".
The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).
(If I play a stored video from phone or SD card, I do get the prompt to choose a video player. But do not get a prompt if playing any video in the browser.)
