I was able to connect my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Android File Transfer to my Mac OSX 10.8.3. Now today I can't get it to work. Any tips? I also tried to install Samsung Kies and neither can see my phone. When I connect to the USB on the phone it says "Connected as a Camera". I don't remember that before. How can I have it connect as a mass storage device?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just recently jumped ships from iphone 4s to samsung galaxy S3. Unfortunately i'm having a problem mounting it on the iMac. It does not show up, the internal storage or the sd card storage. Tried switching on MTP (Media device) and PTP (Camera), but that does nothing, Even tried switching on debugging USB, but that didn't work as well. At the moment relying on synching data using the browser, using applications like "iSyncr", and using Windows 8 Beta, which apparently works fine. But there is the hassle of boot camping, changing from OSX to Windows. I know there is a way round it, but that is to root your device, and install an app SGS3 Easy UMS. But that will be my last resort.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen the (HTC Desire) phone is powered up it is unable to mount the SD card, and I am unable to have it mounted from the "Settings > SD card & Storage" menu. Having said that, the micro SD card can be accessed from a computer (when plugged in directly to the computer, i.e. no issue with the card), and moreover, when I am in the recovery mode, I can have it mounted and browse it. By the way, the card could be accessed from the phone until I downgraded the O/S, and managed to have it rooted.
When the phone is running normally, and connected to the USB port of a laptop, the laptop does recognize a device connected (can even do ADB), but I believe because the SD card is not mounted, the phone does not offer the option to make the card appear as a disk drive for computer access.
I am running the original (RUU, Telstra) Android 2.2 (2.26.841.2) on a HTC desire, after I had it "S-OFF'ed". After reloading the original 2.2, I had it rooted.
The micro SD card is a 2GB one, with approx 1.5GB formatted as FAT16 (contains typical file and photos), and 0.5 GB as EXT3 (contains nothing at the moment).

I have searched online for solutions, and have not been able to have it fixed. Others seem to have different issues to that of mine. Usually, they cannot mount the SD-card at all (not even from recovery), or their SD card just needed to be reformatted. I think I have indicated that these do not appear to be relevant to my issue at all. I have also tried "Fastboot oem enableqxdm 0", and it made no difference.
Is there a way to mount the system root to pc as a disk mount cause I want to recovery data from it that I wiped.

I've tried rebooting the phone, unplugging/replugging the usb from the computer and phone, debugging mode on/off on the phone, and clearing all of the device entries from the Windows registry. The error in event viewer shows: Event id 11: The driver detected a controller error on DeviceHarddisk2DR27. Error I get is 'please insert a disk into removable drive (drive letter)'

I downloaded the .zip file located in this thread. Every time I attempt to "reinstall packages" it won't work. Yes, I renamed it to update.zip, yes my phone is rooted. The error message simply says "Installation aborted" then "Unable to mount" upon a second attempt. I'm running the Axura ROM 2.0.5 using the Zeam launcher.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter installing MotoConnect, I found myself unable to mount my device to access the SD card. Now when I plug into usb, absolutely nothing happens. I should clarify by saying, I was able to connect and mount when I first installed the 4.2.0 version of MotoConnect, but this problem started after the program self updated to the 4.5.0 version. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

I did reset the phone and keeps doing it.
I encrypted my Samsung Galaxy Nexus several months ago and now I want to decrypt the drive and wipe the information. Nothing I have tried has worked so far.
The option to perform a factory reset through the OS has not worked. I make the selection, enter in my passphrase, the phone reboots into the green robot screen (like it was updating) then when it boots back up it asks me to enter in the encryption passphrase again and I do then it takes me to my un-wiped phone.
I have also attempted to reset it with the ClockworkMod Recovery and it will not work either. Giving an "Error mounting data!" message and similar message for the rest

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S, with a program called DejaOffice. It syncs with a PC remotely just fine. Then it syncs with the native Android database. Recently it has started "joining" two similar contacts (Mother and Daughter, same home address, different cells numbers, different first names). The Android does this by itself. A contact disappears from the Android contacts database, and I go check one of the two contacts and find that the other has been joined to it. When I edit the remaining contact there are two Phone tabs, each with the correct information in it. I understand that if I then push the menu on the phone, there should be an option to Unjoin. But nothing happens when I press that menu button. If I simply select the contact (edit is then one of the menu choices), there is a Join menu selection (which works), but not an unjoin option.

planning on flashing my Galaxy S3 i9300 with CleanROM, just to try it out. I have an unlocked bootloader, on ICS firmware (stock), and TWRP as my recovery tool. When I try to install it, all goes well until I reach 10% of the installation, where everything just freezes and then boots me back to TWRP. When I reboot, I'm still on my ICS firmware, like nothing has happened. ?

I have disabled Localization for Google apps and ads and yet when I go into the Store, I keep on getting the message.So after several failed tries, I used App2SD and extracted the .apk into my phone but It wont download showing that it wont find enough resources.
i tried the Indonesian I8160DXLH2 firmware, i agree that its fast and stable and better RAM management, the only problem I face is the modem.bin.md5 from the Indonesian ROM wont flash on my phone or my phone responded "CUSTOM Modem Binary!" , so what I've done is I extracted the modem.bin.md5 from my i8160ZLSG1(hong kong variant) and rebuild a single package .tar.md5 flashable ROM, Odin flashed the ROM perfectly, but as soon as I enter the on screen set up, my SIM card is not detected and I have no access to GSM/3G networks, bluetooth and wifi works fine, all the software part works fine, stable and fast, also, the IMEI code will not show up, unless I revert back to the Hong Kong region specific ROM. I really like the Indonesian ROM because the Hong Kong firmware had severe scrolling problems in menus and apps.
PS: my phone is rooted, my sales code(CSC) is THL.

I am still unable to change the setting.
I tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos SCH-I589 phone running GINGERBREAD.FA13 (v 2.3.6) using various methods but to no avail.
UnlockRoot gives the error "FAIL TO GET SHELL ROOT" and their website claims there is nothing they can do about it. I tried downloading other update files and placing them in the root of my sdcard but on starting the phone in recovery mode there is no option of installing from sdcard. On confirming that a new OS is to be loaded, it straight away goes to USB downloading screen (even when no usb is connected).
Any ways and means to successfully root the phone.
And before you recommend I watch the xda Noob video, let me just mention that there is no dedicated section for this particular model, nothing apart from Unlockroot and recovery mode pops up in any of the searches on any of the search engines, there are no other posts relating to rooting of this phone in this forum or any other forum on xda. (And yes I know this phone sucks but I desperately needed GSM+CDMA dual sim and this was the only option to me).
Samsung Galaxy i9003. The phone was on stock firmware 2.2.1 but it was having a lot of FCs and sudden restarts. Also, my friend wanted to upgrade it to Gingerbread.
I managed to flash a stock firmware 2.3.4 Arabic into the phone through Odin. I selected re-partition, then in 3e recovery mode I wiped both partition cache and user data.
However, when the phone booted, it was upgraded to 2.3.4 as it should but all the data and apps were kept as they are! I tried a factory reset from setting and still all the data remain intact.
I booted into recovery again and wiped all data but all remain the same! I flashed the stock firmware again using Odin and still no data were wiped! I even formatted the internal storage with no luck...The phone wasn't rooted, how this is possible?
