HTC Droid Eris :: Google Talk - Can't Receive Or Send Messages
Dec 14, 2009Anyone else having issues with Google Talk on the Droid Eris? I can open the application, however my friends list is gone and I can't receive or send any messages. I went into the application manager and cleared the app data, and also power cycled the phone. Any other suggestions? I doesn't appear i can delete and re-download.

Jun 5, 2012Just to start off, I have a Droid 3, flashed to metro. I didn't flash it myself, so I don't have very extensive knowledge, but it is rooted.
1) My biggest problem: I can't receive or send group messages. I tried both handcent and go sms pro. In GO sms Pro, I've checked Send Settings > MMS Group Chat. I can send and receive MMS, but when I send it to multiple people, they all receive individual texts rather than a group text. Long story short I'm trying to message a group of people with iPhones. How can I do this or what exact settings do I need? I've looked at other threads, but to no avail.
2) 3G isn't working. It worked when I initially got it, and when I called the place that flashed my phone, they said that Metro sent out some file that blocks the 3G access.

Feb 21, 2014I can send and receive normal texts, but not pictures. When I try to send a picture, it says "Message not sent." "MMS not supported by network." "Server response error." And when someone tries to send me a picture, I was directed to a website called viewmymessage.com.

Feb 2, 2012I got the Samsung Stratosphere smartphone last week and I couldn't figure out how to send or receive any multimedia messages. I got home, googled it and found out I had to turn my data on, and turn atuo-receive off, then click download. That worked to receive them but I have NO clue how to send them! It will act like its sending but say pending, and never send? how else to send/receive the messages!

Jul 27, 2012I cannot receive text messages. I can successfully send them, and my data/internet work fine. I saw other posters had those issue, but where mine is different, is that all of my conversations were deleted, except for sent/received picture messages. If a particular conversation didn't have a picture in the conversation, it was completely deleted.
I've tried my settings, turning the phone off, doing a battery pool. Nothing has worked. I of course would like to do everything possible to not have to do a factory reset, but if I have to, I have to.
I have a Droid X2 running version 2.3.5. I have Verizon.

I noticed that the One S has a fix, however I can't figure out what they are saying about replacing the framework files and what not. Apr 23, 2014I've been looking high and low for something that can achieve what is mentioned here, but to no avail. I would like the ability to send/receive messages directly from my Desktop without having to touch my phone (something similar to AirDroid, though unfortunately it only supports SMS).
AirDroid claimed they were able to make it work, though it requires root and other permissions that may infringe privacy rights. this leads me to believe that a similar software should exist.
Don't suggest emulators/BlueStacks - as the experience is suboptimal, and/or one would be required to have a separate phone number or sign out from the phone service in order to use it exclusively on the desktop.

I was playing with the lock screen and had accidentally set up a random lock code which I was unable to remember.Ever since then, I've not been able to send or receive text messages. I can make calls, go on the web and and even update my Facebook status from my Contact Card. Any suggestions? May 5, 2010I'm having issues with sending text messages to a few people and they aren't even all on the same carrier.I have been using CM 5.0.6.1 and really haven't had any problem until today.I switched to the stock 2.1 with root because i thought that maybe it was the rom and still these people can't receive my text messages they can send me messages and I receive them but I cannot send them out.I have reactivated my phone twice now and nothing has worked.Any help would be much appreciated.I know I said in the title i can't receive them but I can sorry i'm kind of tired at the moment.
