General :: Screen Mirroring Or Miracast Between Two Smartphones

Apr 30, 2014

I would need to see the screen of my Galaxy S2 S5 on (which I can modding without problems). To be precise, I would take a remote viewfinder feature but unfortunately that function does not act on the basis of s2.

I try but I do not think BBQScreen applications such as functions, how can I do?

General :: Screen Dead On GS4 / MHL Screen Mirroring?

Oct 14, 2013

I need to get data off my phone and I am trying to figure out ways to do it short of replacing the screen on it.

It is stock and has a PIN lock screen. When I try hooking it up through Kies it says I need to unlock my phone and apparently whatever steps I need to do I cannot.

I was wondering if I buy an MHL hdmi adapter if it would start mirroring as soon as I plugged it in or if I would need to enable mirroring somewhere in a menu stuck behind the lock screen which I cannot get to?

if the MHL adapter starts working immediately when plugged in (mirrors lock screen) or how to get my data off?

General :: Android Device As Miracast Receiver

Dec 14, 2013

As far as I know Miracast Streaming is software related. So majority of 4.2.2+ phones can stream the display. I wonder if it is possible that all the devices act as receivers too?

What I mean is.. if you have an Android TV Box, can you make it work as Miracast receiver so I could stream my android phone to that Android TV Box?

I am looking at some Android Boxes HERE and I see that only THIS ONE "officially" supports Miracast (as receiver). Is it really the only one with Miracast capability?

General :: How To Make Most WiFi Direct Enabled To Beam To Miracast

Jul 4, 2013

I just got a Netgear Push2TV 3000, which not only encompases WiDi, but Miracast support in this version.

From what my understand is though, is that both these WiDi and Miracast technologies are basically just wireless HDMI anyway.

My question is if it's possible to come up with a mod to work to allow any (or at least most) rooted phones with a ROM like CM that integrate Miracast into their settings for every build?

I did try doing just that with my droid 4 running CM 10,1 with its wifi direct setting..it said it was connecting, amazingly...but nothing else after that.

General :: 60fps Native Res Screencasting / Mirroring?

Sep 29, 2012

I've tried a few different apps to stream gameplay to my PC, mostly adb/java combos but they all have really low FPS that's only somewhat boosted by going from USB 2 to USB 3. The highest framerate I get at the moment is about 3fps, which is obviously unacceptable. Are there any screencasting programs out there that can mirror at 60fps?

Without root is preferable, I don't need to control the device just view the screen on my PC. Unless there's a way to root without resetting my data, I'm not really in a rush to do that.

General :: (APPRADIO) Wireless Mirroring Achieved - Need Touch Interaction

Sep 29, 2013

I have been able to achieve WIRELESS display and audio mirroring with my AppRadio!

I just connected my adapter to the HDMI input, powered it via USB and then used the wireless display feature in the phone to connect.

I am using tasker to force landscape and manage screen timeout etc etc.

This is all really awesome but there is one major caveat, the display will mirror but I cannot interact with it through the head unit. How get that to work?

General :: HDMI Output On Smartphones?

Feb 19, 2012

I have searched a lot over google etc. about knowing if the smartphones with HDMI output capability actually outputs 720p or 1080p on HDTV or it is just that the screen resolution is upscaled to HD..

I can understand that all HD games are high in graphics but they are not actually 720p resolution certainly..but i am talking about HD movies which are of 1280*720 resolution which plays on my xperia neo v like a true HD video with high density of my screen with bravia engine enabled it looks awesome on my mobile..

But my query is when I connect it to HDTV by HDMI cable provided with xperia neo V...the same HD (1280*720) does not seems to be like HD..So is it that it outputs the mobile screen resolution by upscaling even in the case of HD files ?

Is that just happens with xperia neo v or all the android smartphones with HDMI output capabilities just upscales the resolution?

how to make the HDMI output for HD videos look as good as possible..(specially on my xperia neo v)

Jelly Bean :: Miracast Not Working On Updated S3

Dec 1, 2013

I recently updated my T-Mobile S3 to 4.3, experienced the usual bugs but worked through them.

I just bought a new Miracast capable smart tv (LG LN5700). When attempting to connect using the new screen mirroring option, the wifi direct connection is successful, the tv recognizes that the connecion is made, but the screen goes black and eventually the connection dies. My girlfriend also has an S3 on Sprint running 4.2 and hers works just fine.

Android :: Custom Ordered Smartphones

May 23, 2010

Its time that we start demanding the ability to "build" our own phones and be able to select both the hardware and software that would be on the phone.Custom orders can be done for personal computers/laptops and even Nike sneakers, so why not smartphones? There are a lot of phones that I like, but there are always a few things about the phones that put me off.Be it a physical keyboard that makes the phone too large, or some a Custom UI put on top of android that makes updates to the latest build few and far in between.I'm sure many of us would pay a little bit more to have a phone made to our exact specifications.Perhaps you like the Droid Incredible but want a physical keyboard, and don't want HTC's Sense on it.How hard would it really be for the manufacture to develop an incredible with a physical keyboard and not add their UI to the phone?

Android :: Why Are Smartphones Horrible Phones?

Can anyone tell me why smartphones are great for everything except being a phone.I struggled with 2 HTC Evos for about a month.Really poor call quality, earpiece was crap(tinny, blown speaker sound) finally returned it and went back to my Samsung Exclaim for the time being.Wow, what a difference. My old Exclaim is crystal clear, at ALL VOLUMES.Told by radioschack employee to just turn the Evo down when it distorts he was right but then you couldn't hear, especially with any background noise.I will probably try the Samsung Epic in a few weeks. My wife has the Samsung Intercept and compared to the EVO earpiece is 120% better. Why don't they put quality earpieces in smartphones?
