View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I "upgraded" my OS to 4.2.2 using the auto-upgrade feature on my Samsung Galaxy Grand GT-I9082, I've lost a huge number of features, including the following. Unfortunately, I didn't note my original OS, nor have I taken any kind of backup of it (not that I know how to!).
SETTINGS
- Multi-window option has been disabled, and the multi-window toolbar has disappeared.
LOCK SCREEN
- Camera, Gmail and one more App that were available as icons on the lock screen are no longer available.
CALL SCREEN
- Earlier on receiving a call, I could send a message with several pre-set options such as "I'm in a meeting", "I'll call you later", I'm driving", etc. This is no longer available.
PHONE
- "Favorites" option has disappeared. This is a BIG inconvenience!
- When I go to "Phone", I always get the "keypad" page. Earlier, I used to get whatever page I was last on (keypad / logs / favorites)
- The text size has mysteriously (and unnecessarily) increased, in the "Logs" page.
CONTACTS
- "Favorites" option has disappeared; I can't mark any contacts as "favorites".
- Long-pressing on any contact would give me several options, including sending contact details to anyone by message. This, and many other options, have vanished after the upgrade. At present, there are only three options: 'Edit', 'Delete', and 'Add to Group' in the main "Contacts" page, and only 'Remove Member' when viewed in the "Groups" page.
- The number of data fields in each contact in 'edit' mode have drastically reduced. Most importantly, due to removal of the "Notes" field, I have lost all the info I had entered in there: miscellaneous info that didn't fit into any other field.
CALLING
- When a call is being dialled or is in progress, I can't turn on the Bluetooth because the button has been removed from the 'Call' page. Earlier, I could quickly turn on the Bluetooth and switch to it even as the call was being dialled or was in progress.
S PLANNER
- The number of fields in each event in the calender has been drastically reduced. Most importantly, I have lost the ability to set reminders, as the 'Reminders' option has been removed. I can set events, but not reminders for them.
- The left button on my phone (the 'options' button) has no functions in the 'date' and 'event' pages.
GALLERY
- I can't rename folders in the gallery any more.
- More than half the options (available by pressing the left button) have disappeared.
WIDGETS, APPS & OTHER FACILITIES
- The "Alarm" widget has been removed, and I really miss it. Now I have to laboriously open the 'clock' app, scroll to the desired alarm and activate it. Earlier, I had set three or four commonly used alarms in the widget and I could set them directly from my desktop!
- Earlier, if I long-pressed the right-hand button ('Back' button) of my phone, I got a hidden pull-out menu that contained the icons of a whole lot of useful Apps that I could access quickly. Also, this pull-out menu permitted multi-windows (splitting the screen between two different Apps). This pull-out menu is no longer available.
(b) Download & restore a better (not necessarily 'higher') version of Android on my phone?
(c) Backup my OS, or set a restore point, as can be done in PCs (if that's possible)?
I can't get my phone to show full date on notification bar.
I have rooted my phone with CWM Rom.
Is there any way to make font size smaller to show entire date on the notification. I really struggling to access date when needed. Just looking for a customising options to shink font size of notification bar.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using the Galaxy grand I9082 Duos. I have a simple problem in WIFI signal strength, on this device signal strength showing very weak for a distance of 3 to 4 meets away from the wifi router in the next room. But Laptop shows good strength at same point.
If I take my mobile close to router shows very good strength.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded and rooted my Grand Duos i9082 (currently on Stock v4.1.2 AMB3), and was browsing through the "Root Explorer" app, when I noticed some folders under /mnt/ and /storage/ listed as UsbDriveA, UsbDriveB, UsbDriveC. I can connect a USB Flash drive to my phone, and use it as an external storage media? I believe this function is available on Samsung Note & S3 as an inbuilt function (i.e. without having to install any external application). I would like to know if the same function is available on my Grand Duos.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis behaviour started some 2-3 weeks ago. I tried to analize what have I installed and only thing that looked like doing this was Wavesecure so I unistalled it (I had it blocked via autostarts anyway). But it didn't stop.
I'm actually not sure if it really sends any SMS. When I power on the phone and enter the PIN it shows me a "bubble" popup saying "Sending". None of my contacts reported receiving any SMS. I even tried to block "Messaging" from running at startup. Now it stoped but as soon as I start Handcent it shows the "Sedning" again. I tried to find any drafts that I may have left behind but I couldn't find any. Is there any solution to this? Handcent isn't the problem since I had it for almost 2 months without any issues.
I'm running II5, rooted.
I flashed with "CWM-touch_i9082_chotu.tar.zip" and the the rooting as per this [URL] and it was successful.
But I installed font installer and gave access via superuser and after reboot, it dint turned on ( stuck on bootloader "Samsung")..
So I flashed SGG with stock rom via Odin and the phone got on, and again tried to flash "CWM-touch_i9082_chotu.tar.zip" but this time , i dint got the CWM. I am getting android system recovery instead on CWM... I cant root again!!
I tried flashing "CWM-touch_i9082_chotu.tar.zip" 3 time but only bin counter is rising.. i am getting android system recovery 3 <e> only...
Couldn't find any particular section for Galaxy Grand so posted the Question here. I've been following all the steps given in the tutorials on XDA and youtube and many other sites to install CWM in Galaxy Grand, but to my misfortune, whenever I complete the process and try to open CWM using VOLUME UP+POWER+MENU button, the ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY <3e> menu opens and then I could do nothing.
I've tried installing CWM 9 times and also tried removing the batteries.
What should I do???
I tried to connect my samsung galaxy grand to the pc but I'm having a hard time, I tried the developer option and choose the USB Debugging but still I cannot connect?

Is there anyway to delete this and just have the samsung logo on startup? i already deleted all the preinstalled ATT crap that comes with the phone with titanium backup (i just deleted them did not even backup will never use them anyway. after i did that phone seems to be better for me. also i did delete that annoying swish sound at startup but it also took away the samsung startup sound and i like that one. why is it that everyphone for att has there logo or some other att crap on it but the damn iPhone is the only phone clean without any att crap on it -_- i switched over from iPhone 4 could not be more happy. also is there a way to remove the att logo on the top of the phone im talking about the logo next to the speaker.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Garmin-Asus A10 that i wanted to change its font using Type Fresh app. When the font changed the app required a reboot,, but when the phone rebooted it became unable to boot after the garmin-asus logo anymore !!
I tried a hard reset using the volume keys pressed with the power button but it displays "**WIPE USERDATA**" on the top left corner and nothing happened.There is an option to hold the volume up key with the power button that displays " USB POLLING MODE " in a blue screen.
My phone now is not able to boot properly and freezes on the startup logo.
I got galaxy gio, which has Android 2.3.3, today at a worse moment of my life, I update my gio from Setting > About Phone > Update then it ask me for sign in, I login then it start updating after some time it says your phone is now restarting, then a 20 - 30 mints loading comleted and it stucks, then I restart it doesn't do anything, it only stucks at boot up screen, on that my screen just showing me Galaxy Gio S5660 and then nothing happened just stuck, I again restart but it stuck.

currently my Galaxy Tab P1000 is stuck at Galaxy Tab/Samsung logo.

3) Did factory reset/wipe data cache/everything still samsung logo stuck
4) Kies 2.0 wont recognize the phone i think it has something to do with battery charger option turned on when you plug it with a usb(i remember from a thread someone said if you have it to charge when you plug it to your pc it wont work)

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt is my first time to run cyanogenmod on my phone. I have the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 2 4G and I tried to install the CM 11 of jfbs. I did all the backups and I wiped the data and cache and installed the ROM and Gapps. But I rebooted my device and the Cyanogenmod logo appeared with the spinning arrow and it didn't want to stop spinning (or loading if you want). My phone was stuck on logo and the spinning arrow. I forced the phone to turn off and when I rebooted it I worked but after a little time it went back to the logo and the spinning arrow. I re-installed the ROM and Gapps but like before, the logo and the spinning arrow still there until now and it won't even stop and lead me to the lock screen.

I have a Galaxy grand Duos, it had Android 4.1.2 (stock) and I wanted to upgrade it to Android KitKat (4.4) so I rooted it and I upgraded first to 4.2.2 using RR (Resurrection ROM) and it worked flawlessly then I used CM 11.0, I flashed CM 11.0 (the ROM) and gapps, but now it just won't boot, it's stuck at the Galaxy Grand Duos logo and it just won't go to the main screen or anything, did I brick it or what?
