View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm now facing a problem with my Galaxy Grand Duos. It was initially on the 4.1.2 stock ROM. I tried many ROMs for 4.2.2 until I found the ROM that best suits my need which is the RR (Resurrection ROM) and it's now working normally, but the problem is that now, I need to install the 4.2.2 (leaked firmware), I found the files and followed all the tuts I found, but in videos and such they get the message "success" and I get the message "fail", I don't know what's the reason behind this, I tried changing USB ports, changing the cable, I tried nearly everything, but no avail. So basically, I now need 4.2.2 (leaked) or any KitKat (4.4) ROM, I want Carbon or SlimKat, but both require coming from a KitKat ROM (which is not my case) or 4.2.2 TW ROM, I don't think RR (Resurrection Remix) is a TW ROM, so what should I do? I need to know one of them, the KitKat or the 4.2.2 (leaked).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed many applications on my Galaxy Grand duos, with binding the applications data to External SD card (32gb), what will be the best practice to backup all the application and the data before installing another firmware? I don't have enough space on internal sdcard to unbind the application data.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have just purchased a new Samsung galaxy music duos GT S6012
i want to root the phone , searched over the forum but could not root using any of the update files available.
phone info:
model No : GT S6012
Android Ver : 4.0.4
Kernel Version : 3.0.15-1178404
build number : IMM76D.S6012XWALL1
I tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos SCH-I589 phone running GINGERBREAD.FA13 (v 2.3.6) using various methods but to no avail.
UnlockRoot gives the error "FAIL TO GET SHELL ROOT" and their website claims there is nothing they can do about it. I tried downloading other update files and placing them in the root of my sdcard but on starting the phone in recovery mode there is no option of installing from sdcard. On confirming that a new OS is to be loaded, it straight away goes to USB downloading screen (even when no usb is connected).
Any ways and means to successfully root the phone.
And before you recommend I watch the xda Noob video, let me just mention that there is no dedicated section for this particular model, nothing apart from Unlockroot and recovery mode pops up in any of the searches on any of the search engines, there are no other posts relating to rooting of this phone in this forum or any other forum on xda. (And yes I know this phone sucks but I desperately needed GSM+CDMA dual sim and this was the only option to me).
So I rooted a few days ago using Universal 1 Click Method and flashed Xxtrasense ROM immediately (in step 4 of the instructions below).
Step 1) download and install this APK:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8699733/erisone010.apk - VERSION 0.1.0
Step 2) Run, read disclaimer, press button
Step 3) Reboot, once rebooted your phone should have Amon's recovery. Yay.
Step 4) Use the recovery to flash rootme.zip that is now on your SDCard, or the custom rom of your choice.
Step 5) Go into settings, and turn usb debugging on. After you have root, please uninstall this app.
I want to try new ROMs and have read through a number of threads but its only confused me more on the next steps. Questions are:
1. Do I need to do a NAND or NAND+ext backup (I've done a NAND back up shortly after flashing the Xtrasense ROM)?
2. Is Titanium Backup the only way to get my Apps and data transferred to any new ROMs I flash?
3. At what point is a dalvik wipe required?
If someone is able to provide a step-by-step outline (similar to jcase's 1-click eris root noted above).
rooting Samsung Galaxy Fame Duos S6812?
I've tried all the methods I could find including Motochopper,SRS root, Oneclick root, Framaroot, etc. to no avail
I even tried flashing SuperSU through Stock Recovery ( Yes! I was that desperate)
There are no custom kernels or CWM for my device.
Do I have to install market apps 1 by 1 every time I flash a ROM? I rooted to Sapphire 0.7.0 a couple of days ago and had to install market apps 1 by 1. Is there a way t back just those apps up and somehow restore them after flashing a ROM?

I have a Galaxy grand Duos, it had Android 4.1.2 (stock) and I wanted to upgrade it to Android KitKat (4.4) so I rooted it and I upgraded first to 4.2.2 using RR (Resurrection ROM) and it worked flawlessly then I used CM 11.0, I flashed CM 11.0 (the ROM) and gapps, but now it just won't boot, it's stuck at the Galaxy Grand Duos logo and it just won't go to the main screen or anything, did I brick it or what?

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy galaxy grand was rooted and had the Resurrection Remix custom ROM, but now I want to reset my binary counter, unroot and flash the stock ROM. I started by downloading the .tar.md5 file (stock ROM), then I loaded it in Odin v3.09 as the AP (which is the PDA option but changed its name I think) and flashed, but it says fail at the beginning and now I only see "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I already installed Kies and tried this, but after a really long time when the progress bar reached 70%, it said Dll load fail and this was the second time I do it through Kies, but no avail and yes, I'm pretty sure that I have the ADB drivers installed. I flashed CWM touch recovery and it works good, so now I can enter Download mode and CWM mode (or whatever it's called) only. I want to flash back to the Stock ROM which I already have.
