General :: Novo 7 Basic Stuck With ICS 4.0.1 Version?

I recently upgraded from honeycomb to Ainol's ICS version. I accomplished this using the normal flash method with the update.zip file copied to my 16G Mini SD. After the Rom update I installed several programs using ADB shell. I was having difficulty getting titanium backup to work and decided to upgrade my Rom to 4.0.3. I used the same method to flash my device with the update.zip file on my SD card. After the power up I get the android robot then the reboot but there is no change to the version of my Rom. I did a factory reset to my device. After the reset my device no longer had any of my previous installed apps but the version indicated in the settings is still 4.0.1. I have even attempted to flash back to honeycomb but no change occurs to my device. I then try to flash using CWM but I cannot get it to install on my device.

I'm having a problem with my Paladin. I bought USB OTG cable and it look's like it doesn't work. When I connect any of 3 pendrives only one will blink but still no result in tablet.
I've tried running it many times but without luck. USB OTG Helper shows theres No Drives Found!. I saw person got it working: [URL] .... but I cannot understand, how to get it to work ?

i accidentally plugged in a 12V instead of original 5V charger in my brand new Ainol Novo 9 Spark today..
Screen stays black if i try to boot it and its not charging anymore if i plug in the original 5V charger
Is there anything i can do or should i just throw it into the trash?

I have Ainol Novo 7 Avdanced tablet with Allwinner A10 CPU and Mali-400 GPU. It's HDMI output equipped tablet. I would like to change (to lock) HDMI mode from 720p60 to 720p50 or 1080i50, because my TV doesn't support any xxxp60 mode. Is it possible to do somehow?

i have problem with my Novo 7 Paladin. One week ago i installed Google Maps update. After that my tablet was very strange. Sometimes when it go to sleep it won't wake up. I had to press power on again. Later that week there was some graphical glitch on screen (blinking colors). And now i can't boot at all. So i tried the SD card method to recover system. The problem is that i can't boot. Combination of keys like VOL+ and POWER or VOL+ and RESET doesn't work. Then i tried the original USB Boot Tool from Ainol. This tool doesn't work either.
USB Boot Tool
1) install correct USB drivers (press VOL+ and plug USB) select drivers from tool/drivers/4770
2) unplug USB and start USBBootTool.exe
3) press VOL- and plug USB
4) it says BOOT... please waite0% (attachment boottool.JPG)
5) after some time of waiting the error apears (attachment boottool2.JPG)

I have installed the paranoid android 3+ rom but now I cannot access TWRP or the bootloader screen. Android boots normally and the tablet is perfectly functional. When the tablet is off, there is no way to get to TWRP using the keys (power on with Vol- pressed etc. I have used all possible combinations). Also, there is no option to boot into recovery mode from the menu in "Backup & reset". Also, when I try to boot into recovery through a terminal emulator it again boots into andoid normally as if I just did a normal reboot. The "reboot recovery" command issued from the terminal emulator does not boot into TWRP. Trying to boot into recovery mode from within Phoenix Suite again boots the machine normally rather than in recovery mode. It's driving me nuts. Could it be a corrupt/locked bootloader? Is it something else? It seems to me that the only possible path for the bootloader is to load Android.
Is there any way to blind flash the bootloader again? It seems that this is the culprit since I can copy TWRP to nandg through the terminal emulator ("cat /extsd/recovery.img > /dev/block/nandg; sync; sync ;sync" but then again rebooting goes into android rather than recovery mode.
The tablet connects normally through USB to my PC and adb sees it properly.

I've buy ainol novo 10 hero quad a few month ago. Few days ago when I was flashing the firmware But i've instal the wrong firmware from Ainol novo 10 Ethernal. It onn's but the touch screen was "crazy" it was inverted, to push the button on the down left corner of the screen I must touch in the same spot in the upper right corner, to scroll home screen right I must slide my finger left e.t.c.

I was trying deodexing manually and ran into big problems, now in bootloop. I want to just custom recovery restore to the deodexed ROM here (Droid X 2.2 Froyo Deodexed and Ready For Themes) but cannot because I get the following error every time I try to restore a backup from custom recovery: "e:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 device or resource busy.I think I found out that it is because this Koush recovery is the original 2.1 version, so I need the 2.2 one.Two things:-Where do I get this 2.2 newer version? I have Novo 7 Elf ICS 4.0.3, adb is root, but when i try to SU in shell or use Root Check app on the device i got "permission denied", and all root application don't work (root explorer, etc ...).
Superuser is installed and running, but it seems that su doesn't launch Superuser at all. it just wait for 15 s and then "permission denied"
I've used Tasselhof-RootScript.
what i can do?
I've tried change su user/group and Superuser apk with no success.

I would like to try rooting for the first time on my Galaxy S3 SGH-i747m. I have never rooted anything before. And I recently did the update to 4.3. After asking on another forum here GSDer suggested I check out this link [URL] .....
And it seems like a really good option to me. But I have also found a few other methods searchinging around on the xda forums that seem promising for my phone as well. But I am a noob and would like to get some opinions on what would suit me best. All I want is the option to do some debloating right now.
This one looks like it's worth a try too. I saw someone link it in another thread on the xda forums saying it has been updated with latest 4.3 firmware. [SGH-I747/M] CF-Auto-Root - xda-developers
I am leaning towards the first one as it seems pretty safe and the how to vids in it seem very simple. I have the files and keys set to go on my laptop.
I noticed in the thread in the first link on the list of phones that root method has been successful for it does not list the SGH-i747m but it does list the SGH-i747. I read in a thread somewhere recently where people were saying a root that works for one of those should work for both.

Does anyone know the main differences between the full HTC version of 2.2 and the T-Mobile version that has just been rolled out? I am having my Galaxy S delivered tomorrow and was wondering what protection people are using. I was going to use some sort of film protector, such as Zagg invisible shield and a Flip Case. But the only flip case I can find for the Galaxy S looks horrid, and I am not sure on the texture of Zagg Invisible Shields.I have also considered silicone gel cases, but I am having trouble finding one that is nice, and pouches in combo with a screen protector.What would you use and if I did buy a screen protector, which brand should it be, I want one that will protect but with minimum difference to the feel or colour of the screen.

I used to be a C/C++ programmer before getting in to android. I am not sure how people maintain 2 versions of a program without using #ifdef preprocessor macros. Right now I am changing the package name in eclipse and changing the code manually, but this seems really inefficient. Can anybody suggest a good way of having 2 or more projects that share most of the code?

I'm planning on getting LockBot when I get my EVO and I was wondering, what's the difference between the free version and paid version. I basically want the Moto Droid lock screen on my EVO for the slide to toggle sound on/off feature due to the lack of an external switch on the EVO. Would I be best to get the paid version or will the free version do that?

I am wondering if I am on the newest firmware / software for my Hero (Sprint) I went to Settings / About Phone / System Updates etc .. downloaded a update... It now saysmy firmware version is 1.5 and software version is 1.56.651.2 not really sure but I thought I was reading people are on version 2.0 and higher not sure but anyway do Ihave to go to the Sprint website or the HTC website for the newer version if there is in fact one?

I just deodexed the FRG01 build Pete posted a few days ago. I'm amazed i learned how to do it, although I had a tool that made it easier. Now I'm seeing during the deodexing it says the files are being put into a (origi_app) and (origi_frame) folder Root Explorer to look for these files and can't find them on my phone. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I'm on my way to making my first basic ROM.

Can someone point out how to restore the basic Android Launcher or help me fix the Dialer. When I select the dialer on the dock it states "Application not installed." There is no settings for Android Launcher or dragging over a app to replace that icon doesn't work either.So basically, i need to delete it with Titan and restore it.Cant find how to reinstall it when i uninstall it.

We already use Android API. But sometimes I want to know is it verified or not? by whom?(e.g. Android team in google) by which one? (e.g. Unit test or Basic Acceptance Test for API) Do android team have any test report? Because this is a platform for smartphone. For example, if there has any problem in Android API (e.g. Date and Time), it makes customer spend money and time more. But I can't find any report about verifying API test. If you have any information about it, please let me know :) Also if there has no information, how can I test some API to verify API.

I'm having great difficulty getting basic textures to work in an OpenGL ES app on my Droid (2.1-update1). I trying to render a simple textured quad - four vertices, two faces, with normals and texture coords. When rendered, the texture is garbled and full of static, similar to TV noise.
