View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to create or modify an icon pack that can be used with Apex, Nova, or Go Launcher. I have decompiled an apk to see how it works, but I cannot figure out what exactly needs to be edited. However, I do see the folder full of the icons, but I'm not sure what I need to do with some of the XML files.
I basically want to create a icon pack later, but for now.. I have made a couple icons that I want to add to an existing icon pack I'm using.
Had my Razr HD for about 1 1/2 weeks. Moved to Nova launcher a week ago. Love it. Posted about built in widgets vs NOVA, but this is about a function within NOVA. How to set up 'Drawers' or their relationship to folders and tabs. I'm assuming a Drawer is similar to a folder in that it is a collection of apps, bookmarks and widgets. But then what is a folder in NOVA-speak? Tabs? Where do they fit in? And I can't figure out how to set up a Drawer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to ICS, I've been curious about the ICS only launchers. I've seen good work from the developer of each, so I have no preference with regard to developer. Then again, for now, Trebuchet, the CM9 launcher, is meeting my needs.
I was using Go Launcher Ex on Gingerbread, but I think it's gotten too bloated. I love how fast CM9 runs on my phone and I don't want to slow it down.
Also, are Apex and Nova just Launcher Pro alikes or do either bring something new to the table?

I am running SlimKat. I had to reset my phone to factory defaults, and now I cannot reinstall Nova Launcher Prime, which I paid for and installed before I restarted the phone.
When I open Nova Settings, and tap "Nova Launcher Prime", then the "Play Store" button, there is no option to buy or install, only an "X" where those buttons would be. When I tap that, the "Install" button appears, but once I tap that and the "continue" button on the blank app permissions popup, nothing happens - I just see the "X" button again. Yet Nova Launcher prime is still not installed.
I use Nova launcher. I am on a moto X inches btw. I'm not tied strongly t move launcher.
Basically, I want to crop widgets like the Google keep widget (u only need quick keep text not the list picture etc) and other widgets. Is there a launcher or a way to do this? I can resize them, but I'd like to crop them
moving along, I went and got myself an HTC One M8 and I'm absolutely loving it. My problem lies within accessing BlinkFeed through Nova Launcher Prime. The internet generally outlines the creation of a shortcut through Nova's Activities and applying it to either the home button or through gestures but MY problem comes when I enter into Nova Activities, scroll down to the list of HTC icons and "HTC Sense" is not listed. I've searched on both the default (BlinkFeed) launcher as well as Nova. "HTC Blinkfeed" is an option, but when I try to long press on any of the listed icons my "permission is denied".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've installed Nova launcher for my nexus 7 and set it to have only one screen. I'd like to change the wallpaper on this screen without it also changing the wallpaper on the stock launcher. Currently when I try to set the wallpaper on nova, it also changes the wallpaper on the stock launcher (I have a feeling the solution might involve the use of Multipicture Live wallpaper). How this can be done?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Jellybean 4.2.1. I am also running Nova Launcher V2.1.1. Every time I re-boot the phone I get prompted to select the default "Launcher" or "Nova". Selecting "always" has no effect on subsequent re-boots. I have also tried numerous apps to set the default launcher without success and tried clearing the defaults for the "stock" launcher. Any manual way to correct this problem by manipulating the relevant files on the phone? This problem only started once I installed the 4.2.1 OTA update.

I have tried numerous launchers and have found it difficult to find any launchers that allow you to go above 72x72 resolution for icons. The only one that would was Go Launcher EX and that simply scaled them up to a barely noticeable 82x82.
Is there a launcher which allows you to load icons that are say 100x100 and that does not scale them?
I can't remember how to do it
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe other night, something updated on my HTC One (running Venom with GoLauncher EX) and the icons got all jacked-up. Some Google apps reappeared on the dock, a widget got pushed on top of another, etc. It looks like when the Google apps updated, they felt the need to reinstall themselves on the dock -- not sure, but that's not my main question.
When all of this happened, I lost the "grid" looking icon that will show All Apps and I'm not sure how to get it back. At this time, I can only see the apps I've put on my "home" pages, and in order to see All Apps, I must do an "add" and browse that way.
How do I get the all-apps grid thing back?
Adding custom icon applications to GO Dev's online based Theme creator, i use on the fly to make a backup copy of app apk's in which to upload to their website, this should allow me to then change the icon for that app but every time i try to upload any apk file i get an error when actualizing the file!

Droid Razr M, stock 4.1.1.
Let's suppose I want to install an app that doesn't have a launcher icon. Maybe it contains content providers, or maybe it is a license key app that just needs to be present. What is the proper way to do that? If I don't have an <application> tag at all, that works, but I don't think that is the proper way, since <provider> and <receiver> are also inside <application>.But the user experience is *unacceptable*. Instead of being removed, the icon sticks around and says 'Application not installed' until they reboot their phone, or, more likely, go for the refund.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to write a widget that emulates the look of an application launcher shortcut. In particular I want the white font label on a black, semi-transparent background. As it should look the same as the launcher shortcut I wouldn't like too much to imitate the actual look, but to re-use/copy it. Any idea where I can get that?I checked the launcher app and found application-boxed.xml, but it doesn't seem to do what I want and I am probably way off anyway.

But, I have new image in the folder drawable in 1.1.
