Just wondering what apps you guys have uninstalled fromm your rooted droids... I'm really getting annoyed by some of these apps like google talk storage, alarm clock, and calender launching themselves when they have no business at all running.And even regular apps do this which baffles me why people make apps that launch themselves I wish we had user acccount control I bet someone will make this type of app for rooted devices one day.

Already removed battery for a hard reset. Already checked settings - (display -> auto-rotate screen is enabled; ->kickstand enable is checked).
I rooted my Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept and uninstalled all the calendar files but I can't figure out how to reinstall them. I have tried installing the calendar provider, calendar apk, and odex files that I download, but nothing will install. Is there a custom ROM that I can flash that will install google calendar again or another way to get back the calendar function?

I'm so low on internal storage that I can barely do anything. It's crippling my phones basic functionality. Is my OS bloated or what. Is a clean install of 4.2.1 really over 500mb!!!
So far I have tried wiping the dalvik cache with an app, barely freed anything. Is there anything I can do. Bare in mind that the default recovery is running and it's entirely in chinese so how to use it and getting CWM doesn't appear to be too simple on this phone.
I have a Motorola Photon HD dock, I LOVE my Photon but we no longer have Sprint service here (it will work for 3 months then out 3 months weird I know) so I also have Verizon and was thinking of getting the Droid Razr....question will the Razr work on the Photon's HD dock? If so how b/c aren't the ports different?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to import contacts and groups to 20 brand new phones, to begin with. (Stock, non-rooted Galaxy S4+, 4.2.2.). The phones will stay un-rooted.
-Avoid if possible using Gmail sync.
-Avoid if possible using Kies.
-Preferably use csv and/or vcf with groups (one group for each department).
-Preferably not being forced to connect every phone to a computer by usb cable. Fixable by download from web site on local wireless network.
What I've tried so far:Imported the original CSV:s, sorted them into groups, exported them as CSV to get the correct columns for android phones. So far so good.
Exported above mentioned CSV:s to VCF from a Google Contacts, sent it over to test phone by Pushbullet (for the test only, web site solution imminent), imported it in Contacts. Does not retain groups, shows as "Not assigned". It doesn't seem possible to create local groups? They can only be created with accounts such as gmail. (As I see it, this is my main problem now).
Tried Google Account sync: Problem not solved due to one single Google account, and one Google account on all phones are susceptible to contact deletion by fat fingers and people that are struck by bad luck while thinking. One Google account for each phone would do the trick, but probably not an accepted solution by our IT security "manager", even when using Google Auth.
Tried Kies Sync: Problem not solved due to USB connection, and still no local groups.
Tried Importing CSV file into Windows Contacts (which ****s up the columns, not all are matchable) and exporting as VCF. Problem not solved, no groups.
My phone keeps telling me I'm low on space, but I cleaned out my sd card and I know I haven room. Just today my phone at the top scroll bar said I was running low on space, and that my text memory was full even though I only had very few.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI rooted my dx and then i unrooted because I really don't know what I'm doing just figured I would go back stock. So I uninstalled clockwork, rom manager. And I didn't flash any roms so it still is stock right? Well when I powered off and then on it brings up the clockwork bootloader screen and i have done a factory reset and it's still on there. I am not rooted i unistalled all the root only apps, I can't find where this stuff is hiding or do I just scroll down to wipe data/factory option on the clockwork recovery? I hit the first option and it boots up fine! Figure if anything happens and I need to take to verizon they will definitely know.Just trying to go back to factory fresh.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've bought this chinese clone of the SIII, it's a MT6575. It's great except for the internal storage, which supposedly is 500MB but there seems to be an invisible SD storage which is 2GB. It's really confusing... When I go to Settings -> Storage there are 3 memories: "Internal Storage" (claims to be 4GB but it's fake, it's actually 500MB), "Phone Storage" (claims to be 16.5GB but it's probably 2GB), and finally my SD, "SD Card" (32GB).
The thing is, I'm having problems downloading big apps because apps go to "Internal Storage" which is 500MB only, and which files are stored in the "Phone Storage" (maybe internal & phone are actually the same?). However when I go to Settings -> Apps, on the "Downloaded" tab, the apps are in "Internal Storage" (500MB), and on the "On SD Card" tab, it shows that apps are in "Phone Storage" (the ones I moved to SD). This means my 32GB SD isn't being used by the system when I send apps to SD probably.
Also, my 32GB SD card is found in /mnt/sdcard2, and the /mnt/sdcard... I don't know which storage is that.
So basically all this is happening because I tried to Link2SD with my 32GB SD doing all the 2 partitions stuff and so, but Link2SD never detects the "secondary SD" which is the 32GB SD, as this fake SD card, "Phone Storage", is probably what the programs thinks to be the SD card.
On my galaxy tab 2 7, with Android 4.3, I have two choices of memory storage, emulated and extSdard. Im wondering if the emulated is actually on a like Cloud system or are the files still on my tablet? Also, if emulated storage is for multiple users, does this mean another device is connected besides my tablet?

View 7 Replies View RelatedOur phone ( Samsung Galaxy Duos ) had an app installed for hypnosis and it was a relaxation type spiel. After hearing it decided it was rubbish and uninstalled it. Thought it was gone until I got a call or text and it starts to play automatically, it goes for 20 minutes. Once you hit a button or drop notification screen down it stops until the next incoming call or text. I cant see it anywhere on any app lists or on the sd card on the phone etc.

Resigning the APK doesn't work, because it breaks access to Google Drive API, but just replacing resources.arsc in the device (I have root access - CM10.1) with rebuilt one worked. The result works fine, however after day or so Keep is uninstalled from device automatically. I guess that's because the signature of resources.arsc is obviously broken. But is there a way to avoid this automatic uninstall?

I have installed/uninstalled tons of apps and I still see folders on the SD card from apps I know that I no longer have. I have deleted the ones I know are safe to remove but there are some with names that are a little less descriptive of what they were for. I know I could just google each folder name and probably figure each one out individually but I thought there might be an app for it.

I didn't want my battery to run down so I got rid of it but as I sit here thinking about it, couldn't I have gone into my Application settings and turned that app off until I wanted to use it again?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have transformed CoolReader into system app with Titanium backup. It was crashing so I tried to move it back to user app again with Titanium backup. However during this procedure TB hanged and after some 20 minutes I killed it. I later tried to uninstall it (again with TB), but it seems that there are still left parts of it somewhere so now I am unable to reinstall the app from google play (error 491) or if I clear cache and data of google play and force the application to install it keeps crashing.
So I would like to ask what should I delete to completely eliminate the traces of CoolReader (or any application in general) and be able to install it again?
I currently have a Samsung s3 with jb 4.1.2 on it. After the upgrade I have realised contacts app has a little more lag while loading. I have read that installing a third party contacts app could be one quick workaround. However if I install a third part contacts app... Will it delete/uninstall the stock contacts app? I have a copy of settings.apk in my PC. How can i reinstall it again (Due to no USB debugging, I cannot connect to ADB as well).
I am running Apex Launcher Pro and have started to notice a problem. When I uninstall apps that I have in folders in Apex Launcher Pro, the icons for those apps are not being removed when i uninstall the apps. I uninstalled roughly 30-40 apps not too long ago and they are all still present in my app folders on my desktop. Is there a way to have Apex remove these icons when uninstalling apps? Currently I have to go and test icons to see if the apps are installed or uninstalled in order to test them, which can be quite annoying if you have a large number of apps.

I have a rooted LG Optimus L1 ii, running the stock 4.1 ROM that came with it, from which I uninstalled the stock messaging app after installing Hangouts. As you might have guessed I was unaware that the stock messaging app contains the basic messaging capabilities and all other apps rely on this, so now I'm trying to somehow regain the ability to send and receive SMS.
I have tried installing Handcent, GoSMS, and an app called "Android 4.1 JB Messaging SMS", which claims to be the stock messaging app for JellyBean, all of it to no avail.
Therefore my question is, on a very fundamental level, what are the parts of the Android OS that are required for SMS and that I evidently destroyed? Can I get "generic" stock versions of the necessary apks or do they have to be specific to my phone model?
I had my HTC EVO 4g for a week now and loving it. I always make sure I have a sufficient enough of space on my my phone's memory.. It frustrates me knowing that the application with the most database size is the contacts storage! (13.54mb ) What really bothers me, it gradually increases by the day.. When I first got the phone it was 9mb.. and as the we days go by it would increase. I don't even add any new contacts. What's the root of the problem?! Should i disable syncing facebook / gmail?

But the problem is that I have removed a lot of bloatware on my phone like Game Hub, Music Hub but also the stock-clock (and more) with Titanium Backup. But will that cause a conflict with Jelly Bean when JB is being installed? The system is missing files and apps, and then JB is installed on top of that. Sounds like a setup for problems to me. Tried JB with uninstalled stock-apps on their old ICS?
