how to install google play and other gapps on coby kyros mid1060 tablet?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy only goal is simply to have Google Play up and running on my Android without rooting and putting on all sorts of fancy mods. Besides, I'm not even sure if there's a Cyanogenmod for my device. I looked and it's not in the list.
I recently got a Coby Kyros MID1042, Android 4.0 tablet. It doesn't come with Google Apps. I want to install Google Apps. I have tried doing this by using the APKs and installing manually. I found instructions on Youtube and downloaded some signed apks with Vending 3.3.12.
Things seemed to be fine until I clicked on Google Play in my apps tab, I was prompted to enter my Gmail account info, so I did. I got the message "Your phone needs to communicate with Google Servers to set up your account...", but after a few minutes, I got a message that says, "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server", followed by "Unforunately, Google ServicesFramework has stopped."
have come up with solutions that seem to involve something called "rooting", resetting and installing some MODs... I'd rather use rooting or modding as an absolute last resort. Why I'm getting these messages, or any better .apk package.
My friend gave me this tablet because he couldn't get it to work, and now I'm trying to fix it. I'm pretty sure he tried to root/install google apps on it, but not exactly sure what he did and did not do.
I started by trying to just reset the firmware by booting into recovery and choosing a factory install. It was not able to do it because of an error reading the cache files. There was also an option to reset the cache files, but this threw the same error. Because of this, I also cannot install from an SD card. Along with this, USB debugging had not been enabled, so I can't use ADB to sideload a new bootloader or firmware onto it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a lemon tab with ics 4.0.3 and 3.0.8 kernal... I have tried all possible ways to root it... Right now the su is there as built in app. The terminal confirmed my tab as unrooted. But if i type system/xbin/su in the terminal, the terminal receive su permission. So i thought i am close to rooting it.
Need to complete it fully. The su is 3.2 version. I used su uninstaller but of no use. Besides i have lost my ideal cwm 5.0.2. 4 zip file and its getting difficult finding a new one fitting my tab.
I don't have a pc. I m using recovery reboot method.
Mine is a froyo 2.2.1 device (ViewSonice VB730), I tried z4root, instant root, DPRoot, and many many many rooting apk but it is not working, some of them are FC or some of them are stucking in "attempting to apply root" I tried to use SuperOneClick but since I can't find a suitable driver for it, so when I use "adb devices", the list is empty.
I also checked out about some article about how to manually root a devices with PC, seems I have to copy the necessary file first to /data then run the exploit. Since I dont have the driver, I tried to do it with Terminal Emulator and tried to grand access right of /data but failed.
cd /data/
$ ls
ls: can't open '.' : Permission denied
$ chmod 777/data
chmod: /data. Operation not permitted
What should I do

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was trying to root my "titan pc8008" tablet the other day. Being a noob i ended up screwing it up and now it when i turn it on i always gets stuck in the loading screen android os.
When it worked i managed to have adb working properly (that's how i was doing the rooting).
It never occurred to me to install cwm or make any kind of back up before tinkering with the device.
I've done some research and manage to boot into a screen with a green android laying with a red triangle over it' belly. I think this is the stock recovery.
The thing is the tablet doesn't have vol keys and the stock recovery screen doesn't show any options.
I've tried pressing all kind of combinations with the keys the tablet has but nothing happens.
Also, when im in the recovery screen i can do some adb commands like "adb reboot recovery" ,which takes me to the same screen, and "adb reboot-bootloader" which just powers off the device. "adb shell" says something about like it can't mount the file system.
How can i flash cwm (or do anything) from this point?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had just sold my ZTE Majesty for a tablet. It's brand new that I got off of Amazon. It was only like 100 dollars or so. But here is my problem... I can't get this to root at all. Every application acts as if it isn't an Android device. I can't connect it to my PC because there isn't a way to view the files from the Tablet to the PC.
I've tried zRoot, Poot, Spaarkyroot, Framaroot, but I couldn't get any of those to work. And like I said, I can't do PC to Tablet connection (or at least I don't know how, there might be a way.)
How do I root my estar mid7114 (tablet)?i tried some ways of doing it , didnt seem to work, I used super one click, pressed root, evrything seems to be fine, even superuser app appears, which is almost empty, but when i downloaded bind directory it says root access fail, or root verification program it also says that it failed,main reason to root my estar mid7114 is that i want to use directory bind to get stuff from internal sd to external sd.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way I can root my Acer Iconia B1-710 Android tablet ([URL]... ) It is running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. I have tried multiple methods but it keeps telling me that I have not enabled USB debugging mode (and yes I activated it & the thing that allows non official apps).
I did find this thread on the matter ( [URL].... ) but I am not sure if it is out dated and what to do with any of the files. Also if it is possible, installing a ROM ( at least thats what I think it is) that will aid me in making my battery last longer).
The Android Gingerbread OS (2.3.3) is just ok.
I have tried to root the device using other models instructions however, I have not been successful.
I would rather have Android market and Kindle on the device rather than AppsLib and B&N Nook (I have about 100 books already in Kindle).
