View 2 RepliesI have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 phone with Gingerbread 2.3.3 version installed by default.
I tried to install Jelly Bean ROM 4.1.2 version but could not succeed.
I have tried out the below steps-
1) Phone was unrooted, so rooted it and checked using Root Checker app.
2) Downloaded zip file for Jelly Bean ROM and tried installing it, but getting some error as "No space left on the device"
My phone have turned it self of or turned it self into cwm for over a week now! I've tried to update the phone, changed rom, deleted everything (that's not a must to have for the phone). But it keeps on doing it!
I have a Samsung galaxy s i9000.
Kernel: 3.1.10 devil2
Codename: Tiramisu EVO I.C.E A.G.E 1.9.5
Version: IMM76D
Android version: 4.0.4
I've tried using an old version that I installed with Odin but without success...
A friend of mine rooted my samsung mobile Galaxy S I9000 with a android 2.2 version. I read information on rooting your device, in which everything is explained very well, but could not find information on how to update once a device was rooted (probably I did not search in the right place). What I did so far is:
1) Taking backup of my pics (by manually drag and drop the folder on my pc), SMS and call logs (with sms backup + app), syncronized my contacts with gmail so that I can recover them later on and backup the music folder. I installed backup Titanium to back up my apps on my SD card.
1) Which most recent version of Android is supported on the device I have?
2) Is there important information that I forgot to back up?
3) Is there a guide with step by step procedure on which files I have to download on my pc and which procedure to follow?
The problem is when I install apps (apk's or from google play ) they are installed on internal memory (2GB) and this caused many problems for me . I want my apps to be installed directly by default on usb storage ( 13.20GB)
Note I dont have micro sd in my device ...
In apps ... i tried ( move to sd card ) but it didn't work i assume for not having sd card in the device ? right I tried also programs like move to SD or something it didn't work.
I want apps to be installed directly on the biggest memory ( usb storage (13.20 gb) not the small internal one (2gb).
I've just got my new Samsung Galaxy S I9000 phone which looks awesome. I had been using a Nokia N97 Mini which had behaved OK and I've been using Joikuspot as a WIFI tether which is important because of my need for the internet during the day. I was really please to find that the Galaxy has an inbuilt tether application in the Mobile AP however I cannot get it to work and wondered if any one else had any issues? The Mobile AP kicks in ok and I can find it on my laptop however when I try to connect it just tells me that it cannot connect and goes into trying to diagnose the problem. I tried to bypass this by inputting the wireless connection manually but when I do it tells me the security option is wrong but does this for every option in the list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes Galaxy S i9000 and Galaxy S i500 both take the same case?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having problem with performance of SQLite database in Android application in Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 device. The database contains 10 tables with 3 - 8 columns each.
As soon as a database file gains about 400 KB update/instert queries need much more time to execute - 2 seconds! In comparision to other devices (HTC Magic, HTC Desire) update/insert queries take about 40 msec !
The database file is located in application data directory. Moving database file to sd card increases the speed significantly.
Periodic ANALYZE and VACUUM commands do not affect the speed. As well as PRAGMA cache_size command.
Do you have any ideas how to improve the performance? for keeping the database in sd card or splitting the database into many files containing one table each.
Which is better out of the 2 and why? Both have key differences and some may or may not like the depending on what differences they prefer. Main differences I can think of are these:
- Galaxy s is thinner while the Epic has the Qwerty slider
- Epic has a flash for the camera and Wimax connectivity
- Software wise, the Epic is missing a lot of features of touch wiz. There are more differences like design of the phones, theirf networks, etc. But I don't have time to list them all right now.
As i just said before, I was updating my Galaxy S I9000 when it just got to the last notch on updating, and it failed. Now my phone when i turn it on, Goes to a screen with a phone then *!* warning sign to computer. What do i need to do here?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an unlocked international version of samsung galaxy S GT-i9000. I was able to use it with at&t sim card quite happily till now. Even the 3g worked on it. But from yesterday the at&t service keeps disconnecting after using for few hours. The network bars at the top right disappear and a blue disconnected sign appears. I cannot make a call or receive a call till I reboot my phone. In settings->about phone I see that the "Service" shows "Not in Service". When I reboot it gets back to "In Service". My unlocked phone boots with T-mobile preset settings - is this problem because of that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install the latest Froyo update on my new galaxy i9000 and ran into problems. The update was JP3. First the phone kept on flashing i.e. screen off and on. and then i had to reboot the phone and same problem. I tried to flash it again with odin but this time I got an error message:
Update Media please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0) (No such file or directory) E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:"
Your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions
copy default media content failed.
When I boot it moves past the Galaxy I9000m screen shows me the galaxy screen with animation and sound, the screen then goes of leaving me with a black screen and the buttons lit.
Now, no matter what I do I kept on getting this message. I have a feeling that somehow it messed up the internal sd card of my device.
Is there a way I could repartition my card (if that would solve it) and then reinstall a froyo 2.2 update.
I updated my galaxy s gt-i9000 to cyanogenmod 10.1,1. everything worked great.... I got a wild hair and decided to upgrade it to 10.3.0 but it went into a boot loop. I then broke out oden, and long story short I soft bricked it. I now actually got my phone to let me restore my backup that I did before I updated it, and it completed successfully. But it only boots into recovery mode. What I can do?

My PC is a Dell laptop (i7-2670QM) running legit Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit I have a Samsung i9000 running ICS, and a B&N Nook Color Running CM7,
I tried reading about RTSP and UPnP and other stuff, but couldn't get my head around it, I'm usually good with computers, except for this case.
What I want to do is to setup a media streaming from my PC to any of my devices. I don't even want my computer to re-encode the media, just stream it as-is, given that you can play almost any format on android these days.
Is it possible? If so, what do I need? can I use VLC, or do I have to setup something more serious?
rooting Samsung Galaxy Fame Duos S6812?
I've tried all the methods I could find including Motochopper,SRS root, Oneclick root, Framaroot, etc. to no avail
I even tried flashing SuperSU through Stock Recovery ( Yes! I was that desperate)
There are no custom kernels or CWM for my device.
I originally rooted my S4 using the ODIN3 v3.07 and CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5 method.
I then unrooted, using the settings to fully unroot in SuperSU app, to try and get an official update (which obviously didn't work).
I can't seem to re-root using the same method, probably because ODIN flash is still on my phone.
