View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a generic tablet. A Boxchip A13@ 1.2Ghz, GPU Mali400,, 512Ram.. etc.
The thing is I flashed it with a compatible rom, but some configurations are wrong.I got wrong button mapping, and aI solved it, but Not the strangest thing happens... it seems the configuration of rotation is allways a step behind.
having 4 possible positons (Portrait, Upside down portrait, Landscape and Upside down landscape),When I put it n the poision of landscape, the screen rotates to upside down portrait. In upside down portrait to upside down landscape, in upside down landsacpe goes to portrait, and in portrait it goes to landscape. It's driving me nuts! haha I temporarily disabled rotation, but It's a nice thing to have enabled.. In conclusion, It seems the configuration somehow maps the position +90 degrees clockwise more than it should. Where is it maped?
Google brought more language support to Android with Gingerbread. How do I use it? the only indication of Arabic support is that, when I get a text message in Arabic, it shows the letters in Arabic, but not connected to each other the way they should be.What I want is to make everything Arabic, not just messages received in Arabic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell I am working on beagleboard-xm project, where I am supposed to upgrade the current Android version to ICS. The thing is, I have to keep the current kernel , because it is customized for some applications that run on that board. It is not me that compiled that kernel...
Is it even possible to keep the "old" kernel and upgrade to ICS? Can it be done in any way? Or a new kernel with new patches has to be installed...?
I've have recently upgraded my Galaxy S from Darky Rom v10.2 to Cyanogen Mod 9 (ICS).. Absolutely EVERYTHING is better...
Except....
The contacts application (both dialer and 'people') that comes with ICS is not as good as the Gingerbread versions. Obviously the ICS versions look prettier but with the older versions you could:
- swype left on a contact to message (brilliant)
- swype right on a contact to call (brilliant)
- easily access the contacts app from within the dialer via the tabs at the top
My question is... is it possible to use the gingerbread versions of the contacts and dialer apps on ICS... if so, HOW?
it is possible to use auto-rotate in this rom, or if the developer is working on it? Really nice ROM, and it will fill the bill for my new A210, but would like to use auto-rotate and hopefully be able to use a Trebuchet style launcher.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering if there is currently an app out there that allows certain applications to use the rotation sensor on our phones, but not other applications.
For instance i like to text message in landscape mode sometimes but when i go to my home screen and tilt my phone at all, the home screen will go to landscape which i don't like because it takes a long time to switch back and forth between portrait and landscape and seems to be overly sensitive to the axis of my phone.
Does this application exist? If not, how hard would it be to create?
What are the codes in framework that affects rotation? Basically, the problem I face here is, even after enabling in Settings>Display>Rotation>0 degree and 90 degree, the display does not go to landscape even after I rotate my phone.
I am running Android 4.1.1
Is there a trick to use the gyroscope instead accelerometer to rotate the screen? Or, is there any "Hack" to improve rotating speed? iPad have a very nice rotation.
Btw, I have Galaxy S2.
Is there a way to only have an android device, specifically Acer Iconia A500 running 3.2.1, to only rotate horizontally and not vertically.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i recently did a manual install of ICS onto my wind mobile nexus S.
ICS has been absolutely terrible on the phone, everything lags (2 seconds or more for a response after tapping on any icon/button etc...)
the already short battery life has been cut in half (2.5 hours to go from 100 - 50% with minimal useage)
So i want to revert to gingerbread. Is it possible to do without rooting my phone? as i plan on selling it, and i want it to be as "Stock" as possible.
I have a rooted EVO 4G that was rooted using unrevoked. I would like to know what is the simplest way to upgrade to the newest update for my EVO while still keeping my root.

How does CM9 get ported to phones that dont have a CM9 BASE to begin with? Such as the Samsung Galaxy W. How do they do that.? Because to my knowledge, you must port a ROM with the same firmware as your Base.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIm trying to run an old version of the app NAVITEL 5.0.0.1069 on my sony xperia s running the latest build of Ice cream sandwish .
it installs fine but when i enter it it crashes . newer versions work of course , but im FORCED to use the old one for a specific reason.
i tried running the APK file on other phones running froyo and gingerbread , the app works fine but fails to launch on ICS .
I don't want to downgrade to gingerbread .
By the way 2.3.4 is Gingerbread, I have a MyTouch 4G, and I have the stock ROM from T-Mobile update on it. My question is, is there anyway to root 2.3.4?
[Not Edited, but thought I should add] If there is no way to root 2.3.4, I will downgrade to 2.3.3.
How to port over apps from Ice Cream, and Jelly Bean to Gingerbread? I see other people/developers porting apps from ICS to GB, such as apps like ICS Messaging, ICS Launcher, ICS Task Manager, ICS Camera, ICS Gallery, ICS Clock, ICS Calculator and the list goes on and on.
While there are a couple apps that have not been ported, such as the browser, phone/people app, email, and calendar; instead of waiting for others to port them, I would just like to learn how to do it myself.
Lets say I have the stock messaging app from Ice Cream, how would I make the app compatible with GB, and make it a non-system app? Besides just changing the Android Manifest to be compatible, because I tried that, and it did not work ( I just got Force Close).
