Latitude is going to disappear and i activated the location share on google plus.But when i go into local, i can see all my friends sharing their positions, but the map doesn't show... as a matter of fact, i see icons on a empty display.
I tried to reboot, to clear cache and dalvik, also to remove and re-install google plus app, but nothing changed....

When i was recently in the US i was given an HTC EVO VIEW. I have now taken it back with me to the UK but unsurprisingly my Google Play application is the US version. I am using the same Google Play account as i do on my Xperia Neo which is the UK version so the account isn't the problem.
I have factory reset the device in the UK and the 'Android Market' app that is preinstalled is still the US version (and so is the 'Google Play' app that it is updated into) which means that some apps are not available, some say they are not compatible due to location, and everything is in $$$.
I'm using 4.1.1 Viscous on a rooted Galaxy Nexus. I can find the Google play magazines and such, the but can't find the books folder. I I basically want to add some books I already own into Google books....

I've set up reminders for home and work. On some occasions I will get the reminder after I have been at the location after an hour or more, and sometimes I don't get notified at all? It's showing my location accurately on the phone- just the reminders aren't working correctly. Is this actually working? I mean, if you go to a location wtih a reminder, do you a) get a reminder, and b) a reminder right away- not hours after you've arrived at the location? I need to determine if it's not working yet, or if I may have an interfering app... I'm running stock JB 4.1.2 with Verizon on a Samsung S3 phone.

The ultimate solution seems to be moving download cache to the SD card (symbolic link). The problem is that the download cache with ICS and Google Play isn't located in /cache/download anymore, and I have been unable to find where it is located both searching with Google and browsing the filesystem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for an app that I can quickly launch (widget is even better!), grab my current location using GPS and save it to an existing layer in my google maps account. If I can also a label to the point that would be ideal. After googling awhile I found "My Maps Editor" but it looks like it got the ax at some point.
As far as I know, you can view "My Places" from google maps in the mobile version using layers, but can't edit them. Even if you could edit it, it'd be a hassle to load up the layer each time when I just want to mark a spot on the map quickly.
I know you can star locations, but I've been using My Maps/Places for awhile so I'm a little locked in at this point.
i have a huawei G510, android 4.1.1 with root, i updated google maps and with titanium i integrated to system, and now only get a black screen on load, no maps. but i move the apk to data/app it work good, in system/app give me the black screen problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn all of the screen shots showing off Google Now, there is always an image of a card showing meeting with someone at a particular location, the time it takes to arrive at that location, and a map of the meeting location. I have not been able to figure out how to get Google now to do this.
Presumably, that is a function that arises from a Google Calendar appointment. I've created meeting appointments and used specific addresses for the meeting location, but when Google Now displays that appointment, it displays the name of the meeting and the address only - no travel time and no map. In contrast, for places that I visit regularly, Google Now does display a map and travel time to those locations. But those are not regular appointments.

So, I've checked 'settings->apps->running' and I see that when I restart my phone the OS turn on Google location Manager, Google Play market, and some other thing.
I would really like if when I turn on my phone- no element could use my GPS unless I specifically tell it to run, then stop the usage when I tell it to close. Part of the tracking prevention, I imagine, will be done by disabling those services which are required for proper part functioning.
I suppose my questions are:
1) What services/elements should I disable?
2) How do I prevent them from running on startup?
3) How do disable parts of android to run on start up, in general?
Also I'd like to note that I would prefer not installing any apps or root the phone.

On Google Play Services 4.0.x - I get very accurate location small circle around where my house is.
After updating to 4.2.25 - I get a large circle - maybe the radius of an entire block / surface area of a cell tower coverage roughly
Uninstall the update to play services (back to 4.0.x) - get very accurate location again.
I am using a RAZR HD with 4.4.2 kit kat / CM11.
Did play services update broke my specific phone?
I would stay on the older Play Services but Hangouts and Maps keep bitching about needing to update it.

After the update to Google Play Services v4.3 (latest version to date), Maps can't find location anymore without GPS, it remains stuck on "Waiting for location" despite having wifi or data on.When I revert back to Google Play Services v4.2, the issue disappears and Maps behaves again normally.
The problem is that I need the latest version of Google Play Services for streaming videos with my phone to Chromecast (and in any case, Google Play Services will auto update to the latest version).Any same issue with Google Play Services v4.3 ?

The reason I ask is because I have my 7" galaxy tab mounted in my truck. I use a program called torque to add gauge widgets (coolant temp,boost pressure, rpm,etc) to my home screen and would like to have a moving map display as well. I understand this would be a battery hog,but the tablet is always plugged in.

When I had Google Latitude on my Crackberry it updated my location on a timed interval in the background, on the Droid X it only updates when I open the Google Map app, is there anyway to have it update in the background?

I think this was caused when I ran a location spoofing program on only one of my devices, one of the locations I set it to was Spain (among others).
I've tried clearing the data for the Network Location apps, changing the SSID on my router with no luck.
The only way it shows the correct location is when I go outside and run Google maps long enough to get a GPS fix. But when I go back inside I am back in Spain!

So I am sitting in my apt in manhattans west side..over at the water.When I fire up Maps and set my location it shows me about two blocks away from where i really am.There is no way to correct this?..Im kind of shocked that i cant set my location manually..or i can and i dont know how Also using street view, no matter where i drag the marker to it wont show my address.it will show my building but it wont give me an address.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Rogers Magic on the AT&T network here in the US. Its a 1.5 system.
On my old phone, the BJ-II running WM6, in google maps I could get my not-so-accurate-location from the cell tower. It wasnt aGPS, it was just a rough guesstimate of where I was at.
With this magic, is this functionality just not possible? It seems the only way to get a rough estimate of location is to use wifi of gps.
The igoogle web page is able to get my location though, it knows what city Im in, and its not using wifi/gps to do this, so I dont see why google maps isnt doing the same thing.
Also, I'd like to upgrade to 1.6 but I dont know in my phone is CRC1 or CRC24 or 32a or 32b.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs anyone having issues with Google Maps being able to pinpoint your exact location while using the Evo?I used to use Google Maps all the time on my MyTouch, and it would always find my exact location with no problem. But I used it for the first time today on my Evo, and it was always a couple of streets off (not "general" location with the transparent blue circle, but "exact" location w/no circle). This is very inconvenient when using Navigation because it keeps wanting to redirect from a place that I'm not at.I made sure my GPS was on before I started using Maps. I haven't tried using Sprint Nav or any other Nav apps, so I'm not sure if it's a problem with Google Maps, or the Evo GPS.

In the EVO 4G section and I'm having the same issue with my Incredible. For the past couple of days every time I go to google.com I receive this prompt
This happens using the native browser or using Dolphin browser. All my location settings are set to allow sites to use my location (in the phone options and all browser options). I get the prompt both when I am logged into google and when I am logged out. I've even checked my google account settings "save recent locations" is set as On and "allow use of device location" is set to YES. No matter what combination of options I select within the prompt, it comes back every time I go to google.com. I've rebooted and even pulled out the battery and nothing changes. GPS on or off has no effect and clearing out my caches hasn't changed it either. My phone is stock except for being rooted.
I recently cleared cache and data on stock browser. Since then Google search engine website just says acquiring location and never actually acquires it. I opened Google maps, worked fine and all other location apps are working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the record, I have already restarted my phone several times, and even taken the battery out to be sure. Anyhow, I have upgraded to Froyo 2.2 and after that update, I updated my Dolphin Browser. I have Google as my homepage, and now, every single time I open Dolphin, and it goes to Google, I get a popup from Google saying it wants permission to know my location. I have made sure the green check mark is checked, that indicates it wants to remember this action. Yet every time I log on, it asks me for my location each and every time.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn system settings, I have Use GPS satellites unchecked but Enable assisted gps checked.Now on my old blackberry, if I didn't have gps turned on, it would still find my approximate location to about a mile using cellular networks. On google maps on the Droid X, google maps doesn't find me at all and simply gives this error"Please enable a my location source in system settings".I don't want to enable full GPS for simple things like finding a local restaurant as approximate location would be fine with this
