View 9 Replieswhy restoring an app+data from Titanium Backup after a Factory Reset causes Push Messages (GCM I believe) to stop working. It seems fairly obvious that when restoring an app+app data from a previous installation, they get confused and the push messages aren't being delivered to the right place.
So far the only solution that I've found to the problem is to wipe the app's data, and restart from scratch.
I've done a lot of Google searching, and there have been a few things I've tried. This is my normal procedure I do when I upgrade/flash a new rom:
Code:
-Backup with Titanium Backup
-Backup with GO Backup
-Nandroid with TWRP
-Factory Reset
-Flash ROM
-Wipe Cache/Dalvik
-Boot
-Sign into Google Account
-Install Titanium Backup
-Restore previous Android ID
-Reboot
-Use Titanium Backup to restore Apps+AppData, as well as some system settings
-Reboot
At this point, some of my GCM push notifications don't work. The only way I can get them to work again is to wipe the app's data and start from scratch. I have tried the following things, none of which worked.
Code:
-Wiped the app data, restored the app data by itself again.
-Uninstalled the app, installed from Google Play, restored app data.
-Used Application Manager to disable notifications, then re-enabled.
-Went into the app's settings to disable notifications, then re-enabled.
-Cleared data on Google Services Framework
-Removed Google Account, cleared data on Google Services Framework, rebooted.
(This actually had an even worse side effect of re-breaking GCM push notifications for all of the apps I had fixed by hand) At this point I'm at a loss, I'm not sure what else to try. It kind of looks like the Google Account/GSF is related to GCM. I don't remember exactly, but I think I tried restoring the previous GSF App+Data on my most recent flash, and it still didn't work.
here's some lists of the affected/unaffected apps.
It DOES affect the following:
Code:
Accuweather
American Express
Bejeweled
CBS Sports
Chase
Facebook
Messenger (FB)
Reddit News
Waze
XDA app
It does NOT affect the following:
Code:
Gmail
Google Now
Hangouts
PushBullet
Yahoo! Mail
When I try to recover my apps using Titanium Backup's "Extract from Nandroid" feature, it says "Could not find any data in this TWRP backup"
The files in my TWRP backup folder are
data.ext4.win000
data.ext4.win001
data.ext4.win002
md5 for the above
recover.log
I'd like to know if there's a way to use Titanium Backup to preform a backup and then transfer those backups to my computer ?
I know this may sound simple but am under the impression that when you make a backup of your ROM and other files on your device, it has to stay on the device.
When making a NANDROID backup, is it safer and more useful if one can store those backups on one's computer ?
Am sure there's a way to do this but am not sure if there's already an app for it.
with the latest versions of Titanium Backup, I can't seem to figure out how to do batch backup and restore of apps and data anymore.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have titanium backup pro. I want to know can I backup only apps data? I mean when titanium backup pro performs backing up are there any option to excludes apk file backup and only backup apps data?
I think it's useless backup apk files, I can download them from Google play store.
I'm currently using Nikez Lente's ICS rom 1.0.1a9 and what is the system app name for the phone's homescreen where all my apps, widgets are currently stored. I'm a bit of a flash freak so every now and then I drag my at least 40-50 apps one by one.

I have a new quad-core phone with android 4.2.1, that is now useless. It can not boot, it freeze at second bootlogo, before animation. It is rooted, and i have made some changes to build.prop. It worked fine, but after some time i realized the gallery and camera app was gone.
Then i did following:
Installed updated standard gallery+camera apk found online, both in the same app. from here [URL] Works great, but i wanted to make it a system app, so did that with titanium backup. After that, the camera app is gone. Gallery app is still working. So i tried to change it back to user app, again with titanium, but did not stop working. After some time i took out the battery. Now it freeze before boot animation.
I tried "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition", in system recovery but still not booting!
I tried to backup user data from another phone, same model, and restore on this one but says "Error: checksum compare fail".
Do i need to flash a new rom to the phone with my pc? I have not tried this before, and i want to keep stock rom.I have read this page:
[URL]
But i can not get it in download mode, with those hotkeys?
i have access to other working phones of the same model.
I just rooted my HTC Evo 3d GSM. I have downloaded many games such as Gameloft etc.But now I am going to install a custom rom for my device. Android 4.3....And so I have game progress saved in my games. I have heard that if you are backing up using Titanium Backup and restore into a custom rom do not install settings.I mean what does it mean? full guide starting from backing up data and restoring them to a custom rom device! View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having problem with my Atrix to boot and before attempting a more drastic solution I would like to make a backup of my app and data.
I'm normally accessing via ADB, I can see the files on Android Commander.
Is there any way to backup the same way as it does for Titanium Backup then restore the data?
I use a stock ROM, version 2.3.6, and my bootloader is locked ('ll only unlock when finished warranty)
When i try to instal Titanium Backup i always see a message that i dont have enough space but i have 1,5 gb free.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLately, it seems that batch restore is broken again on Titanium Backup 4.8. Did a reflash of my friend's phone and using the bath restore function, it wouldn't restore anything and the loading bar would load forever. Restore each app one by one didn't work as well. It was broken in 4.7.X as well for me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo for the last few months every time I try to sync TB with Dropbox, box, or drive it immediately fails with the message "Upload Failed: Network Error". This happens on every wifi network I've tried. Been searching the Googles for a good while and See other people are having the same issue. Someone suggested that it fails because of apps that exceed like 180mb in size. I have since excluded those apps from the backup but still no deal..
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there an easy way to clear out the backups from Titanium Backup? I've restored my backups and gotten the apps I want to keep to the point I want them, but there's a ton of bloat that got backed up from the original install of my phone and I want to clear it out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created a backup called "app +data (easy import)". Now I can't find any option to restore an app from this backup. Not from dropbox nor from a titanium backup folder. Titanium does not see this file and says there is no backup for that app. So how to restore an app from this kind of backup??

I installed latest version of Titanium Backup (6.0.5). But I don't know how to move apps to sd card. There is only solution for older versions of "tb" on the Internet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the latest Pro version of Titanium Backup (5.3.2). Works brilliantly! If you don't have it yet, buy it, it's so worth the money! (If you flash different ROMs often). But there's one thing.
I would like to auto backup a few of my system settings, but nowhere near all. So I read something about creating a label, which you could use in the planner. But following instructions on creating such label, I get stuck. Instructions are: MENU > Filters > Create Label.
The menu part, I guess, means hitting the three dots, bringing up the options menu. After that: No Filters thingy. Nowhere to be found.
Is there a way to change android ID without titanium backup pro? Naver Line app recognize android ID for security reason and after I full wipe + update the app stop working

is it safe to uninstall titanium backup from my phone? i already can backup my phone through backup when i boot into recovery. is it necessary therefore to have?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i click on batch, then run to backup my apps it jumps back to the Backup/Restore screen with all the apps, nothing gets backed up. I have backed up before with Titanium and it worked. I reinstalled Busybox, didn't help. If i uninstall and reinstall will i lose all the things i did like freeze apps etc ? When i try to update through the marketplace it says installation error, package file was not signed correctly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently done a factory reset and now Titanium Backup crashes every time I try and backup/restore an app. It used to work fine but now I've reinstalled it and copied the 'TitaniumBackup' folder (that contains the backups) to where it was, so everything is as it was pre factory reset.
The uninstalled apps show up as normal with a line through, but if I select one it hangs momentarily and I get an error (Unfortunately Titanium Backup has stopped. Report/OK). I've cleared app data and uninstalled/reinstalled TB. This also happens if I select an app that I haven't previously uninstalled, so it's not just having a problem with my backup files.
I have a new Galaxy Note running ICS, successfully rooted and with Titanium Backup installed.
TB opens fine and appears to be in order, but I have no "Batch" command. I've read support pages and watched YouTube videos; the option simply isn't in the menu as it should be.
I was just wondering why the app size in android (Settings > Applications > Manage applications) is different to the size in Titanium backup (Overview of app storage use) and which one is the correct size?
eg. According to titanium backup, the total size of Jelly defense is 51.6MB whereas android says that it's 112KB
Angry Birds size is 18.5MB according to titanium but only 1.30MB in android.
Skype is 16.7MB according to titanium but only 2.11MB in android.
