I had a problem when no matter what I did the screen would dim, then I noticed it might of been the backlight. So the backlight would turn off or dim after 15 seconds instead of shortly before the screen would turn off.

Just a neat trick, but not sure how useful it really is.If you want to lock the screen without turning the phone backlight off, you can do so by placing a finger on any of the four "touch-sensitive" buttons and pressing the power key.The screen will stay on, but the device will lock.It's up to you to find a practical purpose for doing so.I just though I'd share the feature (bug?) with you all.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi was trying to get cwn recovery onto my phone and as said i was unsure of what i was doing (i know im Stupid) i had already sucessfully rooted the phone and i opened mtkdroid tools and clicked backup and recovery the box on the right started to spit out text as my phone became detached from the data cable.
Now when i try to power up the phone the backlight lights up for 3-4 seconds then nothing if i hold
volume + and power with no data cable i get the same backlight for 3-4 seconds

the phone displays a battry bar in blue if i do nothing
the pc seems to recognise phone as universal serial bus

Now... I use Locale for the following:
- Turning the ringer down when I get to work (obviouse one)
- Turning GPS/Bluetooth/wifi on when I plug it in the phone (think car dock)
- Turn on Wifi when I get near my known hot spots.
- Turn off GPS/Bluetooth/wifi off and turn down brightness when my battery is low.
And the last one is a good one for me...
- I have a GV number. When I call my phone from that number, it turns the ringer volume all the way up and it turns on wifi and GPS. This is my "lost phone aid". It turns on the locating features so I can see where the phone is using iGoogle and Latitude, and I can hear the phone if it is "in the cushions" on vibrate.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI woke up and my phone wouldn't turn on. So the screen would not turn on, but the green indicator light would flash. Now in not my most brightest of moments, I plugged it into my charger. When I later checked, I felt that the back was warm, so I unplugged it. The phone would still not turn on so I put It in rice. I then ordered a repair kit to open the back to open and apply rice (it came very late), and once this was done it still did not turn. Now the water damage indicator in the sim slot changed color, but I am not actually sure how to proceed. Can I do anything to salvage this phone or should I just get a new one?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my tablet, an Onda VI40 Ultimate. It was left off for a day or two, and when I plugged it in yesterday I got the battery screen, but it was in orange and showing that it needed to be charged. I figured I'd leave it alone for a few hours, then come back to it.
I left it plugged in for four hours, but when I came back to it the tablet is just giving the same message. I took out the charger, plugged it in again and got the same screen. I plugged it into my desktop pc via usb cable, and it just gives the same screen over and over. I got another charger, one exactly like it, and plugged it in. Same screen again. I pressed the reset button, same screen. I tried holding down the power button and volume up button, but no deal. I have the latest CM9 build installed on it, with ICS 4.0.4.
I have included below a terribly blurry photograph of what I'm seeing when I try to turn it on, or do anything with it. The tablet just never seems to charge no matter what I do, nor will it boot in any way.
I had cm 10.1, 4.1.2 and is worked ok, but from yestardy i instaled cm 10.1, 4.2.2 and have problem with my htc senstion, its turning off alone when is in my pocket, or on table for 1,2 minutes, also the battery from 100 percent to 20 for 2-3 hours on standby. i thought its because of rom, but i m last night instaled dark sense 1.6.3, and problem is the same, its alone turning off.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a BLU Dash 5.0 sim unlocked from factory. It's a double sim model, which I have two sims, since the companies are spanish, let's call them Green Sim and Blue Sim (since that's how they are color coded in my status bar). It is also running Android Jelly Bean 4.2. Here is the problem. Ever since of March 20, a Chinese app appeared on my home screen, I don't know how, something called "Mobile Video" but the content was in a foreign Asian language. I suspect of my friend since I lent it to him for 15 minutes and then it appeared. Aside of this, the wifi and the Green Sim 3G was turned on.
I clicked on the app curious of it was something my friend downloaded from me, but then the app prompted me two options, I didn't know what it said since again, it was Asian. Next, I proceeded to uninstall it, going to my apps list, I was surprised to see another mysterious app, "Push_Down", that was the name. I uninstalled both Mobile Video and Push_Down.
Next day when I woke up, I found two new apps on my homescreen, and again, the Wifi and Green Sim 3G was on.These were Chinese also. I uninstalled them both and found once again "Push_Down" in my apps. After I uninstalled them, I thought the problem was finally fixed. Wrong again. Since this event, about every 2 or 3 hours, my Wifi and Green Sim 3G turn on automatically, but haven't downloaded anything new, one, because I have no credit left, and two, I have no internet at home. Ever since, daily I wake up, the same problem, the Wifi and 3G are on. I checked my SD Card, I checked my Phone Storage, both with 2 Antivirus (Avast!, and Lookout Mobile) and with Addons Detector. Surprisingly, nothing has appeared.
My last option is what hurts me most, to reset my phone, which I don't want to do since I have lots of apps installed, progress made with certain games and etc, etc. Also, I am not a root user, so I haven't rooted and won't root my phone.
if i dont use my wifi it turns its self off and doesn't reactivate properly. Is there anyway I can turn that off so my wifi always stays on?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI think I found a bug in 2.0.1. If you power on your Droid in the dark, the keypad backlight does not work. You have to go to Setting -> Display and manually unclick the "Auto" and reclick it back.Anyway to get it to work is to power the droid is a lighted room and everything will work fine. I think somehow the light sensor got screw up when it is dark to start with.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Fascinate for a few weeks and just tonight out of the blue, no matter what timeout interval I have my backlight to shut off at, it goes blank and a few seconds later turns itself back on. Then keeps cycling on and off indefinitely. This happens whether or not it's charging.I'm not rooted, and the only things I installed today were Pulse news reader and Nose Candy. I've since uninstalled both and the problem persists. Any help? Obviously this can't stay, or else my battery will die within a couple hours, even when not in use.
