I want to set an email writing down the adress to be send , subject and email body but dont send it right away.Also i will set a location and when i reached that location (through gps) my phone will notice i am there and send the email i set.How can i manage this?

I need to be able to send a message (such a whole email) to the tablet, and it must automatically display the message on the screen without any interaction with it.
I installed CyanogenMod 11.0 for Samsung Express ATT (SGH-I437) last week without any issue and the ROM has been performing without any issues...until yesterday. I don't know what happened, but now 'auto sync' has been disabled for all my email accounts (Exchange and Gmail) and I have to manually sync my email. I know this is a first-world problem, but because the ROM seems relatively stripped-down, I can't find a means to turn-on auto sync again.

When I use the default email client from captivate, even when I set the checking period as every 10mins, I won't get new emails unless I open the app and manually refresh, well, except the one of gmail. This happens on my yahoo email, hotmail and my school email, which all worked fine on my old iphone. People have talked about yahoo mails won't be accessible through wifi from Android, which happens on mine too. But even when I was at 3G, the email client won't auto check it either. I have tried K9 email client, it doesn't work either. The only thing I find work is the MailDriod, but the function of this app is very limited, it won't even open attachments by default. Does anyone else here have the same problem, or maybe an idea to fix the default email client?Also, I find when I use the ear set make calls, when I try to click the button on the ear set, it won't hang up the call as my iphone would. Is this a bug or just something Andriod can't do? The button on the ear set seems quite useless with Captivate, it can only control to play or pause by single click when play music, won't do song change when doule click it.

I have no way to access my contacts (people) and choose more than one contact without having to keep adding one contact at a time. I want to be able to choose several contacts and add them at the same time. Gmail support said click on the gmail icon in the upper left hand corner, but there is none. What do I need to do?

It looks like an "am start" command might be able to do it via launching another app, and I've seen some examples out there, but nothing that I've had success with.
I have a big rsync backup script that I run to back up my device to my server, but I want to be able to email myself a notification if the backup fails, along with a copy of a log file. This script runs on a regular basis via a scheduler without any user interaction, but I have noticed that rsync has been failing recently and I've needed to re-run it manually later.
I am a pro Linux sysadmin but don't know jack about Java. I do bash, python, perl, and some C. My current script is just a sh shell script.
FYI my device is a Nexus One on Cyanogen 7.2. FYI I own the mail server here. I use k9mail as my primary mail app but the gmail app could be used as well.

I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

When sending an email, NOT Gmail, and I select the recipient from my contacts, it automatically picks up the default email address that was selected for that contact within the contact manager. Several of my contacts have more than one email address and I need to be able to choose which address to send to. The thing is, I see no option to do so when selecting the contact in the email message. The only way around this that I can see is to have separate contact entries for each email address. That would mean I could have four or more contact entries for each person. Totally not acceptable.
So, am I missing something here? Is there a way to select which email address you want to send to when creating a message? Or do I have to go in and change the default email address within the contact before I compose my emails?
Hello! I'm trying to set up my wife's droid 2. She uses outlook at work. I have outlook webmail set up on her phone. She is able to receive work emails but can not reply or send an email on her phone. It always says message not sent. Is there a setting I'm missing?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm writing a graphic design application for Android where the user can add several images to a document, where each image is stored as a Bitmap object. Each bitmap has roughly a dimension of 800x400 pixels and uses ARGB8888 pixel format (i.e. ~1.5Mb each).
I'm aware that most of the first generation Android devices have a 16Mb heap limit and this limit is 24Mb and larger for newer phones. I'm also aware that bitmap memory is allocated externally, but I'm confused and what the implications of this is.
My question is: How can I tell at runtime when adding a new Bitmap will get me too close to the memory limit?
Before someone suggests "don't use that much memory", I know that one option I have is to limit how many Bitmaps the user can create such that I know this limit is safe for the most basic Android phones. However, I'd like for phones with a bigger memory limit to support more bitmaps and/or bigger bitmaps.
I know to check for OutOfMemory exceptions when allocating bitmaps. However, there will be some situations where I've only got just enough memory left to allocate one more bitmap. After this point, the whole application will be unstable because even allocating small things like strings could cause an OutOfMemory exception. This is something I want to avoid.
I'm not sure how to define "too close to the memory limit", but I suspect something like "don't allocate more than half of your available memory to bitmaps" would work OK as my other data structures I store in memory are small in comparison.
Every time I am typing an e-mail and have to switch applications or just close K-9, it automatically sends whatever I was typing! Why does it do this, and can I change it?
