General :: Android Source Code Missing Mm Command?

Apr 26, 2011

I'm trying to add an application to the android source code in packages/apps. I have been following several tutorials and they all use the "mm" command to build their app they are adding. But I can't find the "mm" command in any of the android source code that I have downloaded and built.

-- mm: Builds all of the modules in the current directory.

Does mm have to be downloaded separately? When I build android source code, I get a folder containing lots of commands but mm is not there.

General :: Use G+ Android App Source Code For Other Purposes?

Sep 20, 2012

I love the way the new G+ app presents information on cards, and especially the scrolling (the way it slides the cards up and the ones below it quickly flip up and follow it, etc).

Now lets say I wanted to make a separate app that presents information in the same way; for sake of an example: Lets say I wanted to present facebook posts in the same visual card style that is used in G+ app. Is the source code for the G+ app available/obtainable, and can it be changed around to perform such a task?

General :: Smali Same As Source Code?

Aug 30, 2012

When I started modding apps, I really didn't understand the smali part and only worked with XMLs. I created my first app a few days ago, and decompiled it. When I opened the smali folder, I was surprised to see the classes of my source code, each class was a smali file. I thought that the source java code didn't appear even after decompiling, only XMLs could be edited. But if smali represents the source code, can the source code then be edited?

Android :: Use AIDL Tool From Command Line Using SDK Sample Code?

Feb 1, 2010

My question concerns using aidl.exe (on a Windows system) from the command line. This question has nothing to do with Eclipse, Netbeans, etc. Included with the Android SDK are the following three AIDL definition files: IRemoteService.aidl IRemoteServiceCallback.aidl ISecondary.aidl. Located in the following directory: C:android-sdk-windowsplatformsandroid 2.1samplesApiDemossrccomexampleandroidapisapp. For the sake of simplicity, I copied aidl.exe into the above directory. Then, from a console Window, I successfully used the following two commands to generate .java files: C:Android-projectApiDemossrccomexampleandroidapisapp>aidl IRemoteServiceCallback.aidl C:Android-projectApiDemossrccomexampleandroidapisapp>aidl ISecondary.aidl. Invoking these commands produced the files: IRemoteServiceCallback.java and ISecondary.java, respectively. So far so good. I note that both .aidl files are simple; they include no 'import' statements..............................

Android :: How To Run Application Source Code?

Jun 5, 2010

For all of you android devs out there that have the Android simulator running on your computer, you know that there are a few built in apps that are already installed on your 'phone'. I had an idea for an app that would utilize a function that is already being done in the spare parts app that comes already installed. I went on to the android developer site, dug through the source code files, and found the spare parts app, and am now trying to set it up so that running it from eclipse on my machine actually runs the app in the simulator.

In other words, I want to be able to make changes to and adjust some of the things in that app for my own needs. But it won't compile, because of a number of different errors. How do I get that source code running on my local machine? Is there some special trick that I just don't know about? I thought that if I could get the source code than the rest would be easy, but it isn't being too easy.
