I cannot seem to find a way to put music controls for Google Play Music on my home screen. I can put a link to a specific playlist and I can put the Google SoundSearch widget on my home screen but not an actual widget that allows me to quicklly pause play skip etc. It shows up on my lockscreen but I see no option for the home screen. Am I missing something?

In my Alarm App, if user set the alarm, the alarm Dialog will be shown at the set alarm time.
but if device(phone) was in lock and screen off, I can't see the alarm dialog.
I need to write code to the alarm dialog will be shown automatically although the device(phone) is screen off(and locked).
I see the source code about AlarmClock in Donut SDK.

but the FLAG_TURN_SCREEN_ON is only available in SDK 2.0 or later.
I just only use Donut(SDK 1.6).

I am looking for a lockscreen replacement that does not act as an app. All the lockscreens that I have installed from the Play market, act as an app, and as soon as I kill background apps (long pressing the home button and clearing running apps) when I lock my phone again, and unlock it the lockscreen is gone. Why is this not happening with my stock lock screen? Why do they even have lockscreens in the App store if none of them work?

I had a great program called Air Video, it was so great, i almost chose not to upgrade to android cause it wasnt on the Andriod platform.
You installed a client on the phone, and a transcode server software on your pc, and then the magic began, you could stream any kind of video format straight from your PC to your phone in realtime. It supported mkv, divx and a whole lot of other formats. I could even stream video from my satelite tuner straight to my phone with this software. It was totaly mindblowing, and it worked both on 3g and over wifi, you just adjusted the quality of the stream in the client program on the phone. I could lay in bed, and watch my whole video archive straight from my pc on my phone, i could watch it from work and anywhere with 3g coverage.
The great thing about this program, was that everything was on the fly, and went automaticly, you didnt have to convert EVERY video file to mp4 (or simular) before you started streaming.
Was wondering is some was able to give the pros/cons/differences between WeatherBug and My-Cast weather?

From what I gather, I can acquire a wakelock (partial or full) to turn the screen on and keep it on for the whole duration my app (or service) is running, and then release it to turn the screen off. My question is on the huge issue of battery consumption surrounding wakelocks. As long as I make sure to to acquire it just to keep the screen on and release it to turn the screen off (or when the screen turns off), battery consumption should be minimal right? The wakelock's only there when the screen is on so it will definitely let the phone go into deep sleep when the screen's off but does the wakelock actually consume battery itself while it's acquired? Or is all the fuss just bad programming (leaving the wakelock on when the screen turns off, etc.)?

which gives me a Cannot cast from View to ListView and I checked the xml file and it is a ListView so I don't know what the deal is.
How do you control the screen being on or off during a call? My screen blanks, I guess to keep you from hitting buttons with your ear, but when using a bluetooth headset it also blanks. Sometimes tilting the phone wakes the display, sometime the top button does. But sometimes neither hs an effect, and the screen remains off until the call is over. Anyone else have this, and figure it out? Are there settings somewhere to control this behavior?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked Forever and installed the Virtuous 2.2 ROM a while ago, anyway, I'm getting a notification about a system Update that wants to install Verizon Bloatware on my phone, so I was gonna install it then promptly delete the apps just to get rid of the notifications, but when I go to install, it counts down from 10 to restart, then does nothing. So the notifications keep coming up, no matter how many times I try it.
