I tried customizing MMX A57. At first I moved apps on SD card, which caused mLauncher to fail. Tried adb but that does not list my device. Have reinstalled SDK, drivers, SDK_Tools, etc and have tried it on Windows & Linux but no luck. how I can get the launcher back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two phones, one running 1.5 and the other on 1.6. When I connect the 1.6 device via usb, DDMS recognizes it and in the top-left pane shows: HT842....... | Online | 1.6, debug
It then lists the individual processes, I can select them and use various tools like allocation tracker.
But when I connect the 1.5 device, DDMS recognizes it but shows: HT95A....... | Online | 1.5
But it does not show any of the processes on the device, so I am not able to do use allocation tracker and such. The sysinfo tab works, and I can monitor logcat with filter and such in the bottom pane.
What am I missing here? Obviously the 1.5 device has USB debugging enabled. Why does it not show 'debug' in DDMS? I'm using SDK 1.5_r2 on linux (Ubuntu 9.04), if that makes a difference.
On my DroidX, Google Sky doesn't show up in my list of applications, but if I search for it, it does. I can launch it from the search results. I can also add an application widget to the home page and select Google Sky in its settings as the app to launch. Why doesn't it show up in the list of applications (The icon-based list you get when pressing the triangle-in-a-circle icon from the home page)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a ListView containing a few different type of items, all having their own background image and font color. In my first implementation I implemented each type of item as its own layout with the background image etc defined in XML (and implemented Adapter.getView() so that it only reuses convertView if it's of the correct type). This works fine but the performance is not that great while scrolling since I'm inflating quite a few Views due to convertView mismatches, so instead I tried using the same layout for all items (to benefit fully from convertView reuse) and changing the background image and font size in runtime. I even keep the three background Drawables I need as members to save time decoding them from a resource for each item, and call View.setBackgroundDrawable() from Adapter.getView(). The problem is, sometimes the 9-patch is not correctly wrapped around the content of the list item when using this approach. While scrolling it usually looks correct but when the scrolling stops, or sometimes when I just tap anywhere on the list, the background 9-patch of some large items starts flickering and is either cropped or resized to its original PNG size rather than stretched to wrap the content.
First of all, I suspect this is a bug? Any ideas why this happens? Could it be that the View is not always measured to reflect the changed content when the 9-patch is applied? I have tried adding an extra call to View.invalidate() but it doesn't solve the problem. Second, does this approach sound reasonable at all, or how should I go about to optimize this scenario?
My application is built on 2.2, but it is backwards compatible down to 1.6. I've used reflection for the newer methods. When I try to run it on an emulator in Eclipse, it only lists my 2.2 AVDs. I need to test on 1.6 to ensure compatibility. I've tried building with Android 2.2 and with Google APIs 2.2 with no luck. (what's the difference, anyway?) I have set <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" targetSDK="8"/> in my manifest. I also tried targetSDK="4".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted My My micromax A87 with XDA and I was Succeeded in It, and then I Partitioned my SD Card into three,(FAT-32 + EXT 3 + Linux Swap) with Parition Mini Tool.then I Installed Link2SD and Swapper 2 its all fine but microsd is too slow to Link and Swap because its (Class 4).but it run the temple run and some HD Games with Small Lag.
So I Experimented with other swap tools like "MemoryInfo & Swapfile Check and ROEHSOFT RAM-EXPANDER (SWAP)"and then Uninstalled these. but there is the problem starts. Now in my A87 it shows a swap cache always on. I opened adb shell and look for free.
I wonder that there is a swap file generated around 50 MB but I cant see it in my External SD or Internal Memory.So I Removed my SD Card and then check again, Still I see the same swap value 50 MB.
My Internal memory has no change in the value (available space not reduced) it looks like the same value before I Install the MemoryInfo & Swapfile Check + ROEHSOFT RAM-EXPANDER (SWAP).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a a micromax a56 ninja2 , and would like to root and work on the same , as i am currently a huge fan of android, but in vain, this phone is not visible in Adb devices, below are the things which i have already tried, also i have called micromax and got a ver silly answer to enable the debugging mode ( which i did at the intial stage itself) Things i performed : Enabled USB debugging mode , the phone is accessible for USB data transfer but whenever i type adb devices its blank., Adb kill - server and start server didn't worked Removed all the USB drivers using USBdbview.exe, and installed the drivers from the micromax site and also available on the XDA website ( A56 drivers), the drivers installed but the adb devices were still empty. Backed up the android_winusb.inf and saved the file with Hardware ID's available in device manager ( PID and VID) Still no luck, Phone was restarted and enabled again the debugging mode. no luck One of the website told to copy the adb_usb.ini on the users profile, did that still dint worked.
