Change Path To Sdk In Eclipse
May 13, 2009
I have installed the android sdk and the eclipse extensions for android development. My problem is that eclipse does not seem to know where to look for the android sdk. Is there an option in eclipse to manually tell it where it is?

I am using Eclipse 3.5 for Jave EE Developers. Plugins installed include: Android Development Tools, Adobe Flash Builder 4, PDT, PyDev. I have problem with running the application I built. I can start a new project, add a button, and run it on an AVD. Then I add another button, try to run it on AVD, and Eclipse says 1) gen folder is missing, 2) there are errors with build path.
I can get ride of the first error by simply refreshing the project in the left pane, but the second error always sticks around. I searched online and on StackOverflow here and here, although several people have the same problem, there is no definite solution I can find.

I'm working on two projects. One is essentially a library, and the other is an application using that library. Now from the application project, I want to use the library's classes, so I added that project to the "required projects" under java build path. It seems to compile fine, but at runtime, I get this error:
07-27 11:26:57.037: ERROR/dalvikvm(741): Could not find class 'interdroid.contextframework.ContextManager', referenced from method com.bartvanwissen.contextframeworktest.MainActivity.onCreate
Apparently, the library project's classes are not added to the apk file. How can I make sure they are included? Since I'm working on both projects at the same time, I would like to prevent having to create a jar file every time I want to test something.

Whenever I do a Clean on my project, I get 2 errors:
1.) The project is missing gen folder.
2.) There is a build path error.
I go to "Configure build path" and uncheck "Android 1.6". It works. If I do this again, I go and this time check "Android 1.6". It again works.

Is there any way to change this in the android SDK?It looks like some of the .bat files in the ools folder sets some environment variables but cant tell exactly what they are doing.I set my windows system profile settings in the registry to point to d:users and everything else is pointing there but the android sdk keeps wanting to put things in c:users. My reasoning for this is I have a much faster drive as my d drive(5 disk raid0) and my system drive is a 5400 spin ide drive.

I have two questions:
1) how do I change the color of the seek bar (path) from yellow (the default color) to white. What I mean to say is, while I slide the thumb , it turns the line traversed from grey to yellow. I want track/line to either remain grey or white..Basically I want just the thumb to move with no color change in the seek bar.
2)
How to change the thumb of seekbar from rectangle to circle/sphere/round shape.

I have an Android project that branched into three different applications, app-1, app-2 and app-3, that apply some customizations. Currently there is a lot of code duplication, making maintenance a nightmare: do the changes in one of the branches, and then merge the other two.So we create a library project, named app-core, that factors out most of the duplicated code. So far so good. When I launch this into an emulator where the application was already loaded (before the refactoring), I get this exception:Re-installation failed due to different application signatures.A different signature? But I just added a line in the .classpath to link to the app-core Java project!

I'm using Eclipse to learn to develop Android applications in Java. I haven't used Eclipse before. The project I'm trying to use (supplied by OReilly as part of 'Android Application Development') is MJAndroid. When attempting to run the project, the Run fails, and the Problems tab mentions com.java.Object can't be found, and Eclipse asks me to check the build path. Clicking Properties -> Java Build Path -> Libraries, the message 'Unable to get system library for the project' is displayed. On a working project, Properties -> Java Build Path -> Libraries has an entry for Android 1.1, which if I click Edit, has the classpath container path of com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.ANDROID_FRAMEWORK.It seems a simple matter of adding the correct container path to my non-working project. However Eclipse seems determined to make this as difficult as possible. No matter what I chose to add - jars, externals jars, variables, libraries, class folders, external class folders, nothing seems to take the form of 'com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.ANDROID_FRAMEWORK' that the 'Android 1.1' entry on the working app has.

While creating a new android project in eclipse 3.5, i have selected Android 2.1 Update1 as build target. But i forgot to give the mini SDK version. Now when the build the project, its giving a warning message "WARNING: Application does not specify an API level requirement!Device API version is 8 (Android 2.2)"
The application is running fine..but when i run that application is my Samsung Galaxy S which is having android 2.1, the application is behaving differently.
I have even tried adding
<uses-sdk minSdkVersion="7" /> in the manifest file..But still i am getting the warning message..
So how can i change the mini SDK of my project in eclipse to 7,so that i get the same result in my emulator and Mobile phone?

My Android project in Eclipse has a build target of Android 1.5. I am trying to change the "project build target" by Windows --> Preferences --> Android. I select a different Target Name like "Android 2.2". I click Apply and OK. When I go back in the build target is still "Android 1.5".
I am using Eclipse Galileo and have recently upgrade to the latest ADT Plugin and SDK.
This always worked before the upgrade. Why Eclipse is not changing the "project build target"?

The question is given, I want a smaller font to display these lines in the Android Console window (NOT the Logcat window). I've changed the other console's font (cvs, svn, ...) in the preferences, but this window still has same font size. I want this window to be much smaller and put it on the side of my screen, not on the bottom, this way I would have vertically more space in Eclipse.

I'd like to check for memory leaks in my Android app using the DDMS feature in Eclipse. When I launch an emulated device, the threads display properly for the emulated device, starting with 8600 and up.
However, when I connect my Droid to the PC, the device shows up just fine in DDMS. The logcat is generated correctly, and I can view the file structure. However, threads do not display. I get "no client selected" in the Threads pane, and there is no drop-down icon next to the device listing.
Do I need to change some particular setting in Eclipse? Is this maybe a driver issue?
