I am designing a screen , in which I am showing a gallery along with other UI components . The selected item is shown in the center of the gallery . I want to make the size of selected item somewhat bigger than the rest items of gallery .

*Stretch the images within them when I make the imageButton bigger. or
*Replace the images with larger versions based on the phones screen size (Note I say size not density)

Just got the phone over the weekend and love it! so far the best phone i have ever owned. is there any way to make the notification bar bigger? i have big fingers and so far that seems to be my only problem is trying to drag that bar down to see my notifications. if it could be like 5 pixels or so wider it would be much better.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to create an Android ImageButton in the xml file with a background image, and a smaller icon on top of that, right in the center. For some reason, it's not obvious how to do it, and documentation is no help.code...
However, no matter what I try (putting "wrap _ content" instead of absolute numbers on layout _ height and layout _ width, the icon remains in the top left corner of the button. If, however, I have no background image (i.e. a system default white button), the icon does go into the center. The button also goes into the top left corner when I use a color instead of an image for the background.
Why does this happen, and how would I actually get the behavior I want-- that is, a background image with the icon in the center?
I've tried all scaletypes, but all of them result in the image to be at the left corner of the imageview.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had the Droid for a week now...I m droid number 2 the first one the touch screen would not work. I am coming from a Blackberry curve. The droid Im finding is hard to text on. I have to text one handed (don't ask why..) so the phyical keypad does me no good. Is there a way to make the keys bigger on the touchscreen? I did 2300+ texts last month so I really need it to be easier to hit the keys. Also i find the words I've already texted are very small compared to the BB curve anyone have any thoughts on that. This may be too much phone for me..i love the apps amd how superfast it it. but the texting is a issue.

What I'm trying to do is, to place a part of an image outside the screen and animate it so that parts of the image become visible while other parts become unvisible.
Another problem is that when an image is bigger than the screen size it gets cropped. How can you disable cropping of the image?
And what kind of animation should be used? Should I go with RotateAnimation or is better to rotate the canvas ?
I am playing around with the Gallery widget.I would like to know how can we get the position of the image on focus in the gallery. For example having several pictures in my gallery, if I tap my finger to the right, pictures will come and go until it stop to one. I have some questions about a REST client that I'm writing for Android. I'm struggling with how to properly do preemptive authorization. Basically I'm storing client credentials encoded on the client. I want to pass them through whenever the user makes a request over HTTPS with some caching on the server side.
#1 - I got the idea to use credentials as opposed to cookies or something of that nature from some REST developers. However, I wanted to check on the sanity of storing those credentials on the client.
#2 - Assuming that sounds kosher, then here comes the part where I'm struggling. I'm struggling getting those credentials passed preemptively once I have them. I've looked at examples using HttpRequestInterceptor and they all show it pulling credentials out of a CredentialsProvider. Do I have to set that up or is there another way?
I was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.

I am simply trying to get the path of an image that the user selects and then convert it into a bitmap. The problem is, only some of the images in the gallery work when selected (by "work" I mean they are found to be a file that exists), while the others claim the file does not exist (even though the image is showing up in the gallery?). Even more strange is that this doesn't seem to be consistent, an image that was at one point considered to "exist" now claims to be nonexistent..............

The code runs, and then starts force closing (what seems like) randomly. I'm convinced that I've gotten something confused somewhere but since the force closure happens at all different points of my app I dont know where to start looking.
As per title - there are options to delete jpg, but not gif. In order to delete the latter the only way is to connect the phone to pc and delete them directly from SD card. But not from the gallery. Is it a bug?
