I am using some home replacement that allow me to hide the notification Bar and that's something I really like.
All the informations can be replaced by some widgets, but I would like to display the notifications too.
As I already developed some applications, I would like to know if there is a command line that allow an application to get all the notifications. I plan to add this to a widget or a toast.

My only complaint about the Droid is the seeming lack of options for notifications.
Is there a way, or an app, that would allow you to assign different notifications to emails vs texts vs missed calls?
Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.
I wanna to add some code in Camera Apps code , so that it will invoke my Application and do the thing as per my desier. Is it possible to change the Application code? If any one already tried this then plz let me know, how to proceed and build if i change some code. How to integrate my application with camera apps.

I only get my email to show up on my inbox on my phone ONLY when i open email. I currently have it set to to check email every 5 minutes but this is obviously not happening. and i dont get a blinking LED when i get a SMS, Text message.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUpdate:I got a app called "GMail Label Notifier"...it serves the same purpose and is really much more flexible since you can assign unique alerts to each trigger You just need to setup filters in Gmail to apply a label. I have been using it a week or so now and it seems to work great.
I have moved from a BB Tour to the HTC Incredible and really like the Android OS.
A few things I really rely on though I can't seem to replicate on Android. The most important is the "Level 1" or high importance message tagging. With BIS I could setup a filter so that any emails with a specific word or words in the subject line or from a specific email address caused a different alert on the BB when received.
Also, I can't find many options for different notifications like a specific one for emails, another for SMS, another for voice mails, etc.
In an effort to reduce duplication, I have my app's workspace split into 3 projects:
Main (A library project, where all of the common code lives)
Free (To make the free version)
Paid (To make the paid version)

What if you don't connect to wi-fi or 3G for 5 hours. Does it just check the first time you connect or will the app say - OK, I'm connected now, I'll refresh in 2 hours from now.

I tried to register a broadcast receiver on the intent SMS_RECEIVED, but the default SMS application is still notifying the SMS in the notification bar. The only way to achieve what is manually disabling the message notification from the default SMS application's menu.
I found that the "SMS Guard" application, available on the market, is able to filter messages out without any notification, without touching any default configuration (I wrote to the developer, no answer yet).
Different notifications for events on my nexus one?
I have only had the phone about a week and I really like it over my old iPhone. HOwever, there is a big YUK about it and that is that there are not any different notifications for different events. I mean, I get the same 'noise' for email, connections, voice mail etc. Because I get so much email, I have learned to sorta ignore the notification. Thing is, i really need to know if I have voice mail or not? So... is there an app, or a way of changing the notification JUST for voice mail?

If I go to the Gmail app they are in there as unread but I'm not getting any kind of notification that I actually have new email unless I go in and manually check. The user manual shows a little icon of an Android shopping bag in the 'Status Bar - Notification Icons' section (page 7), so I think something's wrong.For example, just today I went into the Android Market to download a new app and upon checking 'My Downloads', I noticed seven apps that had updates available. At least four of these apps had been opened and used within the last hour, and still nothing was mentioned about the update. Is anyone else noticing the same?

I would like the phone to beep at me only once when someone sends a google talk message, and then not ever again for the following messages until I unlock the phone's screen and reactivate the google talk app. I think it already works this way for email, but not for Gtalk. Can this be done? And, I already know that if I open up the chat session, the sounds shut off on successive messages. However I would like it to stop the beeping without opening the chat window.

I realize how difficult it would be for a dev to utilize push, but what about a company like AIM that already has push notifications for the iPhone AIM app?
