Aug 31, 2010Is there a way to find the IP address of the desktop machine connected the android phone after USB tethering is turned on? Does android assign a fixed IP address to the desktop? Or does it assign a dynamic address (dhcp)? Is there a PPP connection created between the phone and machine?

Jun 26, 2010Have any of you fellow Samsung Moment owners located the new Koba eReader app in the Android Marketplace, and dowloaded it?
I can't find it in the marketplace. Not when I search for "Kobo," not when I search for "e-reader" or "ereader." And way too much comes up when I search for "e-book" or "ebook" (tons of individual ebooks come up).
Some other users of Android Forum have posted comments about the Kobo eReader, but I just can't seem to locate it.

Mar 6, 2010I know there are a bunch of 2.1 threads but i've been sifting around and I haven't exactly found my answer of what I was looking for...1) Where can I get the link/download or whatever? That is as bugless as possible?2) Are there any written instructions? A video?I've rooted my droid with the help of some guy from the droid portion of this side and it wasn't as hard as I thoughts could somebody help me out3) Is this rooting? I never rooted the phone and had no problems up till now Yes I turned off power and removed the battery to reset..

Android :: Non-Market Download Problems - Download Unsuccessful - Cannot Download
Sep 22, 2009I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?

Oct 6, 2010I cant seem to find the answer anywhere. I just came from a Blackberry and I have always sync'd with my desktop at night, mainly to back up my calendar. But now my calendar is with google sync so I have no need to back up to my computer...that I know of? I also haven't seen any mention of a fascinate desktop? Is there one and should I be syncing up?

Apr 23, 2010Long time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

So I have been looking for the best app to do that.I tried xtralogic's rdp, which is nice, but it looks like it only works with VPN, and when I tried to VPN in, it would give me a out of memory warning, and crash.So I tried phonemypc. also nice, but that only works if the account in use is constantly logged on to the servers, which I can't do.My account always gets logged off because other users need to get on as well.is there another app that might work better than these? does anyone else have a similar problem?

Oct 28, 2010I installed an app yesterday, (appbrain web downloader) but couldn't get appbrain app to download, so I uninstalled the appbrain web app. Today I tried to update a couple apps, and niether would update- either I got a message that said download paused, with no way to re start, our it would just show it as downloading, but not making any progress. I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....
Tried-
Clearing market updater
Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data

Mar 8, 2010I was looking for a Remoter Desktop client in the marketplace and see there are quite a few pay ones (too bad there are no free ones). None of them mention if they work with the new, more secure, RDP introduced with the latest versions of Windows. I tried one demo app, and it failed to connect to my Windows 7 computer (which uses this latest version by default). Can anyone confirm a remote desktop client that supports the latest version of RD?I found a great VNC viewer, but I need one that specifically supports the built in remote desktop protocol.

May 6, 2010I have a Windows 7 x64 home premium computer and an Android HTC Magic running CyanogenMod (ver 1.6).I am looking for an easy to use remote desktop application.Requirements:
- Does not have to be "fancy", i.e. I only want to control my computer from my phone with my mouse.
- Needs to be FREE
- Easy configuration. Up until now, whatever program I have tried seems to be blocked by something (most likely my Windows Firewall) and I have been unable to make it work.
- Step by step guide please, I'm a noob to this and I need help.
