View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my app, I access my sqlite database at the following hard-coded location in my code: /data/data/ com.mydomain.appname/databases/database.db
If I turn ON copy protection in the Market Place, will my app still have access to this location?
Or will I have to change it to something like: /data-private/data/ com.mydomain.appname/databases/database.db
(or something like this)
Since I have a Dev phone only, I have no way of testing to see if my app still functions normally after turning on copy protection.

When my HTC Eris is connected to the computer i cant transfer any files at all, i think this may be due to the fact that i dont have htc sync but it should treat the memory card as a flash drive, shouldnt it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to format my phone, it's kinda full and going very slow. Here comes the question: Is it a good way to back up my android phone by connecting it to my laptop and copy all the files and maps in to my D: drive. I don't mind if it doesn't my text messages and contacts.
I am using a rooted Samsung Galaxy S plus (i9001).
Scenario:
Phone: HTC Incredible still ten days from my hands.
Microittybitty SD card: came in today's mail.
Computer OS: Vista
Music: On iTunes.
Downloaded: doubleTwist
My general media skills: Sucky.
Ok, here goes. So I have this fear that I won't be able to get all my lovely music from my computer to my Incredible. This is not an irrational fear, as I am notoriously bad with any kind of file management. And device management. And getting devices to talk nicely to each other.
(You may heckle me all you want. Yes, I am in over my head here. This will be an adventure.)
If I could figure out how to copy my music files to my SD card, could I then just put the card in the phone and have the stock music player recognize them and all that? Or would I end up down some dead-end street by myself in the middle of the night, drunk and dazed?
I want the music to go to the SD card anyway, whether I wait for the phone to get here or not. I'm just trying to skip a step. Will it work?
Transfer music files from your PC to your Verizon Samsung Fascinate smartphone.
Note: You may have to enable Mass Storage to complete these steps.
1. Connect the Fascinate to your computer with the included USB cable.
2. Slide down the notification panel at the top of the screen.
3. Tap USB connected.
4. Tap Mount.
5. On the computer, open the drive that represents your device. It should be in My Computer/Computer for
Windows users or the Finder for Mac users.
6. Make a folder named Music (not required but recommended for organizational purposes.)
7. Copy the music files over to the Music folder. Supported formats are:
AAC
AAC+
AMR-NB
AMR-WB
EVRC
MIDI
MP3
QCELP
SP-MIDI
WAV
WMA
8. After copying music, swipe the Notification panel down, tap USB storage, then tap Unmount.
Now you're ready to enjoy your copied music files right on your Samsung Fascinate.
I'm using media player now, since it launched right away.
If there a better/faster method (drag n drop or such) to move files from/to the droid?
Also is there a file structure in place where you *must* put specific file types? (I have the pdf manual, and want to copy it as well to the DX... I'm not sure where it goes though, or how to move the file over.)
Is there a faq here on the best methods and file folder locations specific to the DX?
When I connect my DX to a computer with the USB cable, I usually use "PC Mode" or "Windows Media Sync" instead of "USB Mass Storage". Because (a) then I can still access the SD card on the phone, and (b) I don't need to remember to unmount the SD card from the PC before disconnecting the cable.
The strange thing is that on my work computer, I can copy files from the phone to the computer no problem. But on my home computer, when I try to copy a file, nothing happens. (I have Windows XP on both computers). I see the SD card directory tree in Explorer on the PC. I drag a file from one of the SC card folders into a folder on my PC. But then nothing happens.
If I use "USB Mass Storage", then it works well okay.
Ok, here's a head scratcher.
Situation: I use an iRiver S10 MP3 player (2GB) when riding. Normally if Im going on a long ride (a few days) I will need to take my notebook along if I want to change songs on the player.
So, what Im trying to work out is this. Is there a way to transfer MP3s from my Desire's SD card to the S10 via USB (maybe using a USB Data Transfer cable and the required adaptors?).
Any ideas/suggestions? Could it be possible?
Has anyone managed to copy a file such as an Excel spreadsheet from googlemail to SD card ? You can preview in googlemail but to open you would need to use I think quickoffice which insists that any files it opens are on the SD card.
