i have couple of appz(diffrent apk's), and i run activities from one app to another.my target is to avoid package depndency between them, in case in the future i want to upgrade or compile one package without the absence of another.the problem is that: without setting the dependecy between eachother(eclipse: buildpath->projects), i cant fire the intents, i`am getting error:"Unable to start activity component..."

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a module called MyApp, and another module called MyAppTests which has a dependency on MyApp. Both modules produce APKs, one named MyApp.apk and the other MyAppTests.apk.I normally build these in IntelliJ or Eclipse, but I'd like to create an ant buildfile for them for the purpose of continuous integration.I used "android update" to create a buildfile for MyApp, and thanks to commonsware's answer to my previous question I've been able to build it successfully using ant.I'd now like to build MyAppTests.apk using ant. I constructed the buildfile as before using "android update", but when I run it I get an error indicating that it's not finding any of the classes in MyApp.Taking a que from my previous question, I tried putting MyApp.apk into my MyAppTests/libs, but unfortunately that didn't miraculously solve the problem.

So PackageManager.getpackageSizeInfo was removed from SDK on 0.9->1.0 update android.content.pm. PackageStats(String pkgName)(cacheSize, codeSize, dataSize) returns always "0" Size of phys. file (java.io.File) in "/data/app" seems wrong/not completely. Has anybody any solution to get the total disc space used by an installed package?

As the Android project has dependencies on a third library project, I want to use classes of the third project in the test cases too. For this, I need to add a dependency from the test project to the third project as well. Compile-time this works, but when I do a remote run of my AndroidTestCase, all tests fail. For each test, I get a NoClassDefFoundError, but not for third project classes, but for a class in the Android project itself!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to share data between 2 applications. the idea is both applications can write and read the SAME data and there is no dependency which one of the apps is installed or first created the data. I have 2 version of the same app: regular and premium and I don't know which of them will be first installed and both of them can change it.I tried to use ContentProvider but the problem is that only the first app can create the Provider and when it is uninstalled it deletes that custom Provider. I want the Content to be kept for the second app. Also, I tried to use Settings.System which keeps the data regardless if the application is installed or not but I don't want to use the permission for that (it is very problematic from user perspective). BTW, it seems that I can change ANY of the Settings.System which is not secured from Android OS perspective - but this is a subject for other post.

But if I want to debug the APK in emulator it does not include the those maven dependency and as a result APK does not run with normal Run (using Eclipse) and can not be debug as well. What I would like the dependent preference to be enabled when the other is not checked and disabled when it is checked. Maybe the issue isn't with android:dependency maybe there is an xml attribute that I can add to make the default for that preference disabled and then android:dependency will toggle it the opposite way like I want. I tried setting android:enabled="false" in the preference and it disables it like I want but even with it being dependent on the other preference it didn't enable it like I had hoped.

The image size is 320x480 - the same as device resolution, we're using for testing. The problem is, the image will be scaled und looks not so nice. I tried to use imageview instead, but I've got black borders.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get the android SDK set up on my computer, but every time I start the SDK and AVD manager and try to connect to the repositroy, I get this error:
Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: Connection timed out: connect
I have no HTTP proxy, and I have also tried checking the box "Force https://... sources to be fetched using http://...", but that doesn't work either.
When I go to https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml via firefox, I can see the xml file, however it takes a minute or two to load, making me wonder if the sdk's timeout is too short for it to actually connect to the server??

I have total 3 activities.
First activity(A) starts second activity(B). From Activity B, 3rd activity(C) is called.
Activity B, shows list with checkbox to select items and single OK button. On clicking OK button Activity C is called with selection.
When user clicks BACK button in Activity C, by default Activity B is displayed (with selected checkbox).
I want to display Activity A when BACK button is clicked in Activity C.
How to achieve that?
I have handled OnKeyDown() in Activity C to startactivity(A). it is working. But when user clicks BACK button on Activity A, again Activity C is displayed. while application should end.
In this direction how to skip Activity B is ever called?
I am trying to use "setClickable(false)" + "setLongClickable(false)" + "setFocusableInTouchMode(false)" to disable Touch Event for every views but failed. When mouse clicks, OnTouchEvent() of some view will still be called. What I want is only to disable Touch event because my application need not Touch and Touch event will disturb the running of app. Is there any way to disable Touch ?

I am currently building all the C modules using mm -B option in the Android baseport (Android source code) within the external folder. When I want to build all C modules, I call the individual modules' mm -B function one after the other. I have 2 questions in this regard.I wanted to know if there is a way to do incremental build on a set of modules. The scenario here is that I am building a set of modules one after another from a script. I have observed that all the modules mentioned in the script get built irrespective of whether a change has been made to it or not. This clean build takes time. Is there a way out of this?
Whenever mm -B is executed, the libraries built are placed in out/target/product//obj/lib/ path by default. I wanted to know if we can change this path and whenever the mm -B command is called, the libraries are copied to the corresponding modules paths and not to this common path.
I dont have much knowledge of the envsetup.sh that has the definition of these mm and mmm functions.
My application used to execute in background by service. But sometimes when it goes in exception it is giving Exception with the Force Close Message Box. I want to avoid that Message box. Is there any way to avoid it?
