View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a .NET developer starting to dig into an android application. One thing that seems a little abstract is working with SqlLite. In a .NET application, I can do my Database setup, query testing and profiling, and enter in some test records through Management Studio for MSSQL. In fact, I'm constantly in Management Studio checking something - so I'm finding it difficult to work without a similar tool.
What are some good tools/tricks to use when developing SQLLite on Android? The tool doesn't have to have a GUI, but would be nice if I could run it as a desktop app and have it look at the same DB as my emulator.
For instance, something that will allow me to run a simple SELECT statement against a table to view records without having to do it through android?
I have a copy from my Razr days. Would it be advisable to update and try using with my new DX?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe one thing which I hate about Sense is the ridiculous swipe to answer feature when the phone is locked, I found Easy Answer Button and My Phone Tools. I used both but with limited success. It seems that with either one of those apps installed, I would constantly miss calls. The phone simply wouldn't ring and/or vibrate. I have my phone set to ring and vibrate when I receive calls. When using My Phone Tools, the first few seconds of the ringtone would play, and then it would be stop abruptly. With Easy Answer Button, the results were even worse: I would receive a call and the phone would not ring or vibrate. Of course, this didn't happen every time I received a call. But, when using these apps, a day didn't go by where I didn't miss a call because my phone simply didn't ring.
For those Incredible owners who have used either one of these apps, I'm wondering about your experience with them. Have you experience a similar problem with your phone not ringing/vibrating? I'm trying to determine whether or not it's just me or another app I have installed on my phone. It's been a day since I uninstalled Easy Answer Button and I have yet to miss a call. This leads me to believe that it's one of those two apps. Also, are there any other apps out there with a similar functionality? I'm currently running stock 2.2 (rooted, s-off), and not too interested in running stock vanilla. But I am wondering what other options to the slide to answer feature are out there.

Context: Most web-apps are merchant centric and allow for multiple payment types from the customer. But the problem I'm trying to additionally solve is to have, say, a mobile app that is capable of paying as many merchants as possible using your debit, credit or PayPal account. It shouldn't rely on per-merchant technical partnerships to work. It should just be able to talk to any merchant after writing the upfront code. There are a few solutions that come to mind: Integrate with VISA, Mastercard, or PayPal. However, my goal is to integrate with stores that sometimes only take debit, sometimes only VISA, sometimes only PayPal, etc, while re-inventing the wheel as little as possible. I'm wondering if anybody has already solved a problem like this before?

I am using eclipse 3.6 and using android 1.5 version as the base to make the app as compatible as I can with all android phones. I download android's codes and build it for simulator. The simulator can be launched successfully, but it always popup "SORRY! It might sound a little odd but I am in the final phases of finishing up my app that would pay users. There is an activity in the app where as and when the users use the app, money keeps accruing. I have a button in that activity called Cash Out which when the user reaches a certain amount can be clicked and is supposed to let the users take the money accrued from the app. I have contacted Google Checkout and Paypal so far and Paypal suggested personal payments can be integrated in my case and sent me the Paypal for Android API doc. The doc itself is very useful but does not describe this kind of a scenario that I am looking for. Any clues how to integrate such a functionality.
