General :: Lock / Password Protect Specific Settings?
Apr 14, 2011Is there a way or an app that will let me lock certain parts of Settings? Like if I want to allow our users to change Sound, Display, etc, but lock them out of Applications and Accounts&Sync?
I have found a few apps that will let us password protect things on the phone, but with them if I choose Settings, then they can't change anything and I want them to have a bit of flexibility, but I have to keep them out of Applications because then they could just kill the password app that locks them out of certain apps.

For example, if you have some documents, pictures, etc., in the phone memory and don't want to be opened by someone who takes your phone. Oct 4, 2010Just got my EVO a few days ago.Is there a way to view everything on your SD card, like a certain file folder? I see where some of the things i've downloaded went to the gallery, office program, and gallery, but I don't see how I can view these all in one place or edit/delete them.

Sep 21, 2013I'm trying to put my 6000+ mp3 collection on a 64GB microSD card (class10) and I can transfer them fine on my computer but when I go to view the folder on my phone it says there is nothing in it while my pictures folder (3GB) on the same card on the same phone shows everything fine. Using stock Android 4.1.2 on LG Optimus Pro G. Am I hitting some subfolder limitation or something?

Apr 16, 2010I am running 2.1 v2 on my Droid Eris and I set up my work email (exchange) through Activesync.
Now every time the lock screen appears I can't open it up without a password. I want this turned off. I have read elsewhere that you can install apps that overcome the lock. However, I am exploring other ways to work around this. Does anyone else have experience with this? I would like to not have to enter the password in every time the phone screen locks. I also don't necessarily want an app running in the background either.

Aug 9, 2010How many of you guys actually use the pattern lock or password before you can use the phone. I have been debating whether or not its a waste of my time b/c even if I get my phone stolen I'm not getting it back. My friends that use my phone can't go through my personal stuff b/c I have a file locker. Even if I did have the pattern lock did anybody create a way to hack it and unlock it like they did with the iPhone?

I could not remember it and after several tries I decided to hit the "forgot password." It asked for my gmail account, and I do not remember creating one, after many tries, I gave up. Oct 23, 2012I just bought a Note 2. The only reason I bought it because on iphone I wasn't able to hide my apps without jailbreaking. I was really looking forward to some on android market that would allow me to hide certain apps and password lock them along with password locking settings options. Yet I have not been able to find any. I have a few apps that I want to hide from my family and friends.
I would rather not root my phone as I am not that technically advanced!

Sep 16, 2010I've tried googling and searching for applications, but ironically, all I've found is people with the opposite problem - who are lucky enough to be asked for a password, but don't want it? Just got my HTC Desire, it is really amazing, but I HATE the stupid lock screen 'pattern' - I am amazed there doesn't seem to be any actually secure option considering the amount of important data the phone may hold (access to email in 2 clicks from home screen + no password = epic fail), especially as when I had a quick go to see what would happen, the pattern seems to allow unlimited attempts - just have to wait 30 seconds between every 5 .Turning my phone off whenever it has to be unattended is just ridiculous, even though I doubt I'll ever let there be a need to, I still want to make sure things are secure.Is there any way to replace the pattern with a PIN or password? Preferably free but I won't mind paying for an application if it's the only way.

Also the volume level doesn't affect my text message notification. long story:A week ago sprint told me to factory reset my phone to get rid of the error 67 problem, ever since then i've had this problem. So they told me to factory reset it again and the problem continued. then they sent a replacement and now i'm still getting the problem before i installed any apps. the SD card is the same though. So i'm confused and don't want to delete everything from the sd card.
