I have a paid app on the market. -I uploaded an upgrade -The market download manager hangs on 'Starting Download' when I try to download the newest version. Has anyone experienced this? (If the problem is resolved shortly, I'll post here.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedOver the last few weeks I tried to download or upgrade apps but it always fails. I always get the message: "Download was unsuccessful please try again". When I go to the android market and look at the help front page there is a link called "Download Issues Troubleshooting page". The fix described in here does not work for my phone.How do I make my phone work properly again.Also, I am on Android 1.6 but I cannot upgrade to 2.2. The PC Companion says that I have an up to date phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change free app into paid app in Market? I.e. you release com.foo.xxx as free but later you'd like to charge for app and drop free version completely.. I do not see anything like this in Market console at the moment. I know I can release com.foo.xxx.pro for example but my intention would be to keep package name as is so current users would see there's upgrade available. Alternatively, if there's no way to do that can I completely remove app from market so com. would be reusable for other app?

Now I get hundreds of reports that the paid version won't download/install, but there's no problem with the free version of the app. The message typically reported is "download unsuccessful". Some users uninstalled the app and then tried to download the app and are now left without a working copy. Of course, most assume this is a programming error by me and it affects my rating.

But when I get paid apps, i get an e-mail thanking me for the purchase, but when I try to download, all i get is "authorizing purchase", it never downloads. I bought Shazam but it never downloaded, it's been a week now, and I went to places where I got 4G, I tried the Wi-fi, but nothing worked. Then I downloaded the free version of Robo Defense over the weekend. I decided to buy the full version this morning. After I clicked through the legalese and all that it gave me the usual "check your notification bar for download progress", but it hasn't done anything for 15 minutes or so. No download progress or anything, and the app isn't installed. Does it normally take a while to start the download of a paid app (or your first paid app)?

Once the money was there, the status went to purchased, but when I try to download either I get "download failed." The apps are Droid X/2 Overclock and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap. I've tried clearing the market cache, applying the market fix in build.prop. No dice. The phone is rooted, overclocked, and has a slightly modified build.prop (this postdates the download issue).

Depending on the USB port I either get an error when PC Companion, or Update Service is in the preparation stage, something like: All components needed to continue could not be found. Or I get to the stage when you turn off the phone and restart it with the backbutton pressed which leads to XP wanting to find drivers for SEMC usb flash. By looking through other communities I found those drivers could be found in: C:Program Files (x86)Sony EricssonUpdate ServicesetupdriversUSBFlashDriver.zip. I could initually install those to one USB port, but when trying to download the update through Update Service I get yet another error that the task could not be completed.

This is leading to many cancellations and complaints.
One customer is complaining in particular they get a Google market "server error" when they try to cancel their order. They want to cancel because their download does not work.
I can see several customers cancel and then re-order because their download did not work the first time.
Those customers are not on one mobile network or in one country. I can see they are in Korea, US and UK. So it looks like a general market issue.
I notice that I am unable to get the ##778# menu after upgrade to stock Sprint 2.1 ROM. I tried ##778 and call button also, which did not work either. Since others haven't mentioned about it I am not sure if it is happening for me only? I also notice that the menu for changing NAM is not seen in 2.1 - Is anyone else who upgraded to 2.1 also noticing it?##786# is opening the menu but not ##778# which used to work on 1.5
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new on here as I only got my HTC Hero the other day, and while trawling the internet for answers this place kept coming up. I have a few questions about this phone, or more to the point, the android OS running it. I see that it only has android 1.5 on it at the moment, and there are no newer upgrades available yet. That said, I've read in numerous places on the net that android 2.1 is coming to the HTC hero at the end of this week or start of next week depending on your network, is this true? What would this upgrade actually improve? My new phone seems pretty stable and usable as it is already, wasn't voted best phone of 2009 for nothing I guess. My second query is about the apps from the android market. When this 2.1 upgrade comes, I expect it'll wipe the phone clean and reinstall with the newer OS. If any apps are already paid for, will I have to pay again to download them a second time? Or is there any way of me backing them up first?

Problem #1: When I hit the home button it used to ask if I wanted to go to the home screen or the HTC sense now it doesn't ask, how do I get it to ask again? Problem #2: Which is better to use the home screen or HTC sense? Why? Problem #3: I see that there is a new upgrade but when I go to the system upgrade it tells me my system is up to date? It currently reads V 1.5. I just wish I had a manual that I can just sit down and read and a tutorial to show me all the advantages of this phone over my bb.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have updated my X10 mini to Android 2.1.Every thing seems working fine except the Android Market app.I can search, and browse Android Market.But I am failing to download ANY app from the Market.The download icon does appear; but after a while it says "download paused".I searched through different forums and found that one very common suggestion is to boot the phone by pressing "Power" and "Home" key.No luck by booting either. Can some one please suggest some remedy for the problem?
